Ah, the old Ford Escort driver's door scrap yard conversation: "How much are your Stagg EUB's, mate?" "£300" "£300? they're £250 down the road" "Does he have any?" "Well No, but they are due in at any time" "Well, when I don't have any mine are £250 are too"

Just to say that I have one of these (bought from a fellow BC) and they are superb. If anyone is thinking about trying electric double bass then I can highly recommend this EDB. They are amazing value. My only comment is I think the price may be a little steep and may struggle to sell for £300 despite them being hard to find. Like you say though, if someone is willing to pay for it then good on them. Good luck with the sale.
Thanks mate. Maybe you're right on the price. I'd do it for £285 inc postage or £270 picked up. This really is as new
Look not trying to wind anyone up... didn't want to put anything on my post as normally it gets taken the wrong way..... I spoke with DV and Zings recently as I was contemplating one of these and they have said they are having stock very shortly.... so If I upset anyone then sorry but I these are available at a lesser price....
Thank you- it actually means a lot as comments on this Forum can get blown out of proportion very quickly. I said I'd try and sell it for a mate of mine for what he paid for it. I guess you can get it cheaper but it comes down to the old addage "A bird in the hand..." Anyway, it's a lovely bass and if I wasn't so inept I'd keep it myself.

I'm not sure if this would be of interest to anyone, but a pal of mine is selling a nearly-new (1 week old) Stagg 3/4 EDB in black. Now I've been down the EDB route myself and it is certainly not for me, so I said that I would offer it up on the Forum. I'm picking it up tonight as he's going to India tomorrow for Christmas. He literally got it last week and has decided that it's beyond his capabilities!! It took him ages to track one down in the first place but I guess that's just the way it goes sometimes. It's spotless and comes with the carry bag and all original packaging. He's looking for £285 inc postage or £270 if collected from Woking. Thanks for looking

If have never done this before and I dont really want to take of a neck of one of my jazz's just to satisfy my curiosity. Im fitting a jazz neck to a p body if anyone has anything else to add. cheers.
Yes- just 4 screws and a plate. Nothing else. That's craftmanship eh?
Anybody purchase strings through a stringbuster.co.uk? if so had problems with them? Used them before no problem. Ordered a set of strings on sunday, internet went down came back on and the payment had gone through twice. Checked on my stringbuster account and there is no trace of the order even though money has left my bank. emailed them twice but to no avail. anybody been in the same boat of late?
I ordered a set of LaBella Deep Talkin from them last Weds and they arrived on Friday. I ordered another pair on Sunday and they arrived today, so no problems for me. I guess it was just a glitch with your order. They're definitely still trading though.

Met Col on Sunday to trade my 64 Reissue Jazz bass for his (now my) gorgeous Ric 4003. The bass was even better than described and I'm seriously happy with it. Col is a great guy and I's deal with him again like a shot.

One of the reasons I got rid of my Stingray 3 eq was because I kept fiddling with the settings and it was driving me mad!! I couldn't get my sound because there was too much to work with if that makes sense. The less the better as far as I'm concerned.
He does use another bass on tour, I forgot which tracks, possibly Start, can't remember the bass though, I have pictures somewhere, I need to dig them out as I'm sure the maker of this bass wanted some! Someone may know what it is? I'll e-mail the guys and ask today
He uses one of those Waterstone semi-acoustics which is almost as big as him!! When we were fortunate to see him at Water Rats studio he had the black/white/maple P Bass and the Waterstone thing. I nearly cried when I saw him changing the strings on his P Bass. Something didn't seem right about it. I mean, come on....new strings on a P bass?? Some people are just weird I guess....
Hiya Nick Did you manage to get a case for the Ric? I'm thinking of running my 4003 in stereo with the bridge pup to GS112 via LMII and the neck pup to GS112 NH via my Hartke LH500 hehe...
I've not been brave enough to try the stereo out yet Peter- I'll probably hear how you get on with it from Woking! I've ordered one of the Pro-tec gigbags for the time being as the Ric cases cost an absolute fortune at the moment!
Would be great if you could make it - I think the WitchDoktors are pretty entertaining too Not too many Rick owners on BassChat (as I discovered) so have you tried posting on RickResource, which does have a fair few UK members?
I shall give it a go Clarky- see you on the Ric Forum!!
Nick, don't do it.........just look on it as 'winter boredum'
There's probably an element of that Mart. I'll see what's on offer but fo far there's been no bites. I certainly won't be upset if the Jazz stays with me. Ho Hum, what to do...
Hi Nick, what have I started! There's a nice Montezuma Brown 4003 FS somewhere on the Forum (thebeat's I think)
Thanks Clarky- I've seen it. To be honest I don't want/can't affor dto buy one outright at the moment and was seeing if there is anyone interested in trades. It is gorgeous though..... PS I might try and get along to see you at the Peel. Last time I was there when we weren't playing I was mistaken for one of the Doormen...

Since I took ownership of Clarky's Riic 4003, my Jazz bass has hardly got a look in. All the Fender tones I need are taken care of by my Shuker, but I am completely besotted with Rickenbackers. As a result, I am seriously contemplating on offering up my Fender Custom Shop Closet Classic 64 reissue Jazz in exchange for a Ric 4003. This is one of the nicest Jazz basses I've ever played and is currently fitted with Wizard 84's. I have the original Fender pickups for this too, with all case candy but not case unfortunately. The custom shop certificate is there too and the chrome pickup covers, It's in Burgundy Mist and was a custom order colour (1 of only 4 made in 2007). Brand new these cost over £2,000 but I am looking for a swap with a Rickenbacker 4003 (in excellent conditon). However, if someone wants to buy this, then I'd be looking to cover the cost of a new 4003!! This really is a feeler and I am only interested in Ricknebackers. Here are some pics. Thanks for looking
I love how they seem to get better the further down the post you go. You have a lot of very interesting basses there.
+1 Jeez, that little lot hit the spot alright!! I'm having a major Rickenbacker fetish at the moment. Please let me know if you're ever thinking of selling/trading it.
Black it is then! watch this space, I will do another "build/mod" thread like I did with my warwick as soon as i get my hands on the bass.
"It's like, how much more black could this be? and the answer is none. None more black." Good man. Nigel would be proud
