Well now I'm curious!
Only joking Truthfully though, it's a gorgeous looking bass and the colour Jon has managed to achieve is fantastic- incredibly distinctive and very individual. I know you'll be over the moon with it.
Well I was on the blower with Jon last night squaring up the remainder of the bill and organising shipping. The bass just needs a setup now and should be on its way to me on Monday. All being well it'll be here on Wednesday. I have to wait another week... so near... don't know if my nerves can take it... wibble... wibble... snarf...
I was up at Jon's early last week and saw your bass. The finish is fantastic and really catches the eye. It looks a lot deeper in the flesh
Try PMing "peety". He's got one (or two)......not sure if it's USA but worth a try.
Steve's got a couple of beautiful Skylines. I know he was gassing after a US one, but honestly the quality of his are so good I'm not sure there would be much point!! PS- I think he was considering moving one on (might be wrong though)

Over my time that I've been a member of Basschat, there have been certain pictures of Basschatters' Basses that have almost tempted me to commit murder/robbery as I have fallen in love with them instantly. This has been done before, but which bass belonging to other members would you pack your bags and run away with? I'll start but please don't tell my wife.... For me, it's OBBM's Blue Burst Stingray 5 with graphite neck. I've seen it in the flesh and heard it live (it called to me) and it's amazing. It's very closely followed by Kev's Stingray 5, but wins on overall sex appeal (for me). So now you know

Old Actonians? If you come across a couple of teeth on the main pitch while you're unloading, they're probably mine....I'd really like them back Good luck with the gig. If I wasn't away that Friday I'd pop along.

I wondered why mine came with a free portion of Prawn Crackers -
What am I thinking! Tolhurst was the drummer!, Dempsey was the original bassist followed by Simon Gallup So I have to agree. Another bassist that springs to mind was Stuart Morrow from New Model Army (Although he was probably the guitarist Doh!)
Simon Gallup is great too. Mind you, I've never been able to get to grips with playing the bass below my knees!!

Nice to have another Shoe Gazer on board!! I still reckon Michael Dempsey was the best bassist the Cure had.

South East Bass Bash, Saturday 27th September: NEW INFO!
Old Horse Murphy replied to silverfoxnik's topic in Events
Think I'm free on 27th so I might pop along. If I do I'll bring my Shuker P5 and maybe a 2008 Fender P Bass for people to try out. -
Thanks Nick - trouble is I won't get the other two guys down there on spec (both are in North East London). Might just mosey along myself with a CD. PS See you sold UL115 - would love to hear about IEM Sorry Redzombie to go off topic - won't do it again!
Yep, went to a good home. I've played 2 gigs with IEM's now and it feels weird and not quite right (like fancying your friend's Mum). Both the guitarists agreed too (about the IEM's that is), so I think we'll see how we get on with it a bit longer. Some of the venues we've got lined up are not going to be able to take the full PA so I wonder if it's all going to sound a bit weedy. Apologies for digressing Redzombie.
Good luck RedZombie - just a quick question - how did you get the gig at The Peel? My band would love to play there (would make a change from the Camden/Kings Cross Bermuda triangle) but they have so far ignored all our MySpace messages and emails. Suggestions gratefully received! Cheers Clarky
Probably best to pop along Clarky. They've got rehearsal studios there too and one of the guys offered us an audition for the pub. We did just that and got invited to play.

Most Bizarre Bass gig you have done?
Old Horse Murphy replied to lowdown's topic in General Discussion
Not really a gig, but a gig experience. Played at a wedding a while back and a guy came over and said if he bought us a round of drinks, could he sing with us. We said yes, depending on what song it was (and if we knew it). He looked down our set list and (much to my shame) saw "You're Beautiful" and said "that one." Sure enough, a round of drinks was bought. We announced him up on stage and his Missus stood at the front and off we went. What we didn't realise was he didn't mean You're beautiful by James Blunt, but You are so Beautiful... by Joe Cocker. There's us playing one song, there's him singing a different one but TRYING to sing it to the tune we're playing.....simply awful. We finished, the audience went wild, his wife dried her eyes (still not convinced she wasn't laughing) and he shook us all warmly by the hands and thanked us for making his night. Unbelievable and confirmed our decision never to let anyone on stage ever again. -
I always get the last bass run in Get It On wrong. I always start too early
Lovely P and an excellent price I would suggest. My Mrs would kill me though ...
Thanks for the kind words Mr F and if I may be so bold, I'm sure your wife would be DELIGHTED if you bought this bass as would mine if I were in your shoes.... Can't type anymore as nose is growing bigger with every word....... I will put this on the Bay if there aren't any takers on here. Funny, I would never have guessed the Ray would attract more attention than the P Bass.
Really? I thought the UL-115 was 8 ohms Meaning the 2x12 would be much loader when played together. Although it was fine with 5.3 ohm UL-310... Its a great stand alone option though if you are looking for more juice. Price is £550 as stated in the first post.
You're right. 8 ohms it is. I was erm rounding down.....
Just bought a 1 x 15 off Old Horse Murphy and I am looking for a 2 x 10. Is this 2 x 12 4ohm or 8ohm? If the price was right I may be interested? Let me know Regards Steve
It's a 4 ohm Steve so would work perfectly with the UL115. Cheers Nick
I bow to your superior knowledge and experience in these matters..!!
Well, beards aren't my thing really. Call me old fashioned, but that's the way I am Anyway, I was told at a tender age to avoid keyboard players at all costs. Something I guess we could all live by
