1.
I use a wedge monitor run out of the ext. speaker output..... then have this sitting next to my main vocal monitor on stage..... this works very well!!
That's what I was thinking of doing- good idea. From the technical info I've given about my amp, would you have any clue as to what sort of wedge I should look at? Cheers!! OHM
2. Here's a funny one... I'm not sure anyone on this Forum will suffer with EXACTLY the same problem, but there might be a few people who have similar issues. I have badly cauliflowered ears and one of their side effects is it makes sounds come from different directions than if they were coming through a normal shaped ear. As a result I often struggle to hear myself through my amp when we're on stage and it is behind me. As I don't normally play through a PA, I don't use any form of Monitor. I play through a Markbass Little Mark head in to a Schroeder 21012L cabinet, which has an angled speaker (this helps a lot). Other than possibly putting a wedge under the Cab to angle it further upwards, does anyone have any suggestions? Is it possible to run a monitor directly off my amp through the Line Out? If so, what sort of monitor should I use? The handbook says that the maximum output is balanced xlr with a max. voltage of 10vpp. To be honest, I have absolutely no idea what this means (I was the most attentive student as I much preferred the rugby pitch to lessons- hence the ear problem ) Any help/suggestions/sarcastic comments are most welcome.

4.
Dear Old Horse Murphy, Do you still own this beauty? any plans to sell in the near future? Nick.
Hi Nick Unfortunately this is now in the capable hands of Beerdragon in North Wales. He'd shown a lot of interest in the bass and just as I decided to withdraw it, he decided he wanted it!!
5. I've had a couple of dealings with Steve without any trouble whatsoever. A thoroughly nice guy and a pleasure to do business with. Cheers Steve
6. Beautiful collection. I love that Stingray- very classy.
7. +1 for seeing the basses in the Porn section Welcome aboard
8.
duty and you'd still have enough money for a few pints and a curry.
mmmmm....pints and a curry..........
9.
Stay out of THE WOOD STORE then
The fabled wood store...I've heard many a tale of it.
10.
Oh! Cousin Blue's looking good .. That Jon knows how to choose a bit of wood ...
He certainly does. I'm actually glad he's chosen all the materials now. At least it means when I go up there, I won't be able to change my mind QUITE as much as I probably will....
11. A few more pictures from Jon. The fingerboard is now mounted on the neck and it's been bound also. Jon's used Mother of Pearl for the binding and it's turned out darker than we both thought due to the transparency of the MOP which you need to use to give it the 3D effect. He's going to try and find a very thin laminate to put between the Mother of Pearl and the rosewood, which should lighten the colour a little. Tell the truth though, I actually quite like it as it is. As the bass is going to be a transparent blue as well, I think it will look pretty good.
12.
if this had been available a few years ago (at US prices!) I'd probably not have my Shuker 5 string P ..
I don't believe you Si!!
13. John I've got one of these. Want to borrow it?
14. This is what I've gone with; good old Rosewood. I must say, Jon picks the nicest pieces of wood. Once this is oiled, I think the grain will look lovely.
15.
Its a lovely neck and sound great. we have a gig saturday night so i am looking forward to gigging it.
It's a fantastic neck isn't it? Glad you like it mate
16. More importantly Martin, how did you get on with it??!!
17. This is absolutely gorgeous. I always wanted a bass in this colour scheme after seeing John Entwistle's one.
18. Yes. I've bought several bits off them and service and delivery has been excellent. As it's inter-community (EC) you won't be charged Duty either.
19. I think that would look really nice with a black pickguard Steve. I love that BG too- lovely!!
20. I reckon if you got it for £800, it would be a pretty good buy. I wouldn't pay quite that much for a right handed one, but lefties will probably always carry a premium. It looks a very clean example and is a really nice colour scheme
21. Welcome Nick. I think you'll find yourself in very good company having been inspired by Norman.
22.
red or black Nick.
23. I quite like it, but it looks like a bit's been broken off the top horn to me. Stiil, I'd like one one blue please
