1. The guy from The View has got some swagger about him. I can't work out whether I like him or whether I think he's a cocky little sh*t. But I guess that's the point; he provokes a bit of a reaction.
2.
Stoopid price. Did anyone look at his other auctions? They have a Joe Strummer relic Tele with the worst relic job ever, looks like the poly been removed with an angle grinder !!
That's the official Fender Joe Strummer. Check out their website. There's a good reason why the finish looks so naff...it involves car paint in a can!!
3.
christ, been having a little gander on the net and schroeder are LOUD. Dave, if yo uwere in my position, looking at various makes, (MB,GK,Warick,Epifany, and now schroeder) which do you find has the best tone? In fact, anyone, if you have tried any of these cabs, which took your fancy and why? Head wise, If you have tried and GK, MB, or Warick, which took your fancy and why? thanks mike
Mike I use MB and Schroeder, so does Old Git and a few other guys. I love the sound and it's incredibly portable and LOUD...but it really shows up my sloppy technique!! Nick
4. mate I've got a Little Mark which pushes out as near as damn it 500W @ 4ohms. It also has 2 channles which is great when I switch between my Acitve Stingray and Passive P-bass. The 2 Filters are amazing too and I use them far more than adjusting the EQ. It's a very "natural" sounding amp too and lets you hear the bass voice without altering it too much (unless you want to). That's the reason why I chose it over the LMK 2. Does that help or is it all B@llocks?
5. I'll throw in an "As New" EH Nano Dr Q Pedal that I don't use.
6.
i will bring The Bob Glaub Lackland that i have just bought off oldhorsemurphy. (i hope thats not being presumptuous oldhorsemurphy )
It's a shame it's not sooner martin. I could have delivered it in person!!
7. Got a wedding on the Saturday (which we'll be playing at) but intend to come along. I'll bring the Markbass and Schroeder and by 75 Mocha P-Bass if I come along. Somehow I don't think my 5-String P bass will be ready by then
8. Bob at Kingfisher Music in Fleet is very good too. He's done a bit of work for me in the past and has a quicker turnaround time than Anderton's.
9. Weclome to the show Thinman. Dad rock is cool!! OHM ("Stocky" ahem...)
10. Not sure what album, but Hendrix covering Van the Man's "Gloria": " Gloria, G.O.L.R.I.A" Ella Fitzgerald live at Ronnie Scotts completely forgetting the chorus to "The very thought of you". The absolute pro that she is manages to not only rescue it but get huge laughs too!!
11. I adore Fenders but to pay £800 for a US Standard model? That's pushing it a bit.... I still love them though. Always will
12. Withdrawn- I think I'm going to hang on to this for a bit longer. Thanks for all the interest
13. Welcome Jon. I suggest you hook up with Greeneking on here ASAP. You seem to share a Rickenbacker fetish!!
14. I still reckon this is a good looker!! Have a BUMP Steve
15. Just a bit of feedback for Nik as a Buyer (of sorts)...let me explain. Nik bought a 4u rack case off me in December. Despite Parcelfarce firstly delivering it back to me the next day (a technical error I'm assured) and then losing the case entirely, Nik has been an absolute Gentleman and has the patience of a Saint. Apologies again Nik and thanks for all your understanding and sense of humour!!
16. Just received some photos from Jon and although I swore to myself I wouldn't ever post pictures of bits of wood, here they are!! Jon's chosen a really nice bit of Ash for the body, which I think will look great with the transparent blue finish I've chosen.
17. Hamster bought some parts for his Precision Project from me. Thoroughly nice guy and highly recommended.
18.
Just thought of another that I used to really like..... Party Fears Two by the Associates. I think the bass player was called Michael Dempsey.
+1 for Michael Dempsey. He was the original bassist in the Cure. Have a listen to stuff like Boys Don't Cry and Killing an Arab- the guy's great!!
19. My Black Stingray has been with me for about 2 years and I'll never get rid of it. The brown Precision I picked up last year is just amazing too. I think these 2 will be with me now until I pack it all in. Mind you, everything else seems to come and go with the tide!!
20.
Hmmm, bit of a disappointment, I was looking to add a nice black pg from Jeannies for my DJ5
Mart- might be a long shot, but I sold my DJ5 to Hammer (Ian) with 3 pickguards- black, white and tortoise. They all fitted really well, so it maybe worth PMing him to see if he doesn't use the black one.
21. Just been asked if I want to audition for a pub covers band (rock/indie) based near Winchester. They're called Thunderwing and seem a nice bunch. I can't find a website or a Myspace page at all, but a few people I've spoken to have said they're pretty good. Does anyone know anything about them?
22. I consulted Si when I was deciding on the spec of by Shuker Precision. The amount of information, advice and encouragement was incredible and I am very grateful for all his guidance. A real star who deserves a beer! Cheers Si
23. We'll be there Dave. I hope you guys have been rehearsing Wonderful Tonight...
24. 3 days left on the bay with 16 people watching it. Hopefully it will go, but I'd rather sell it to a fellow Bass-Chatter...
