I had one of these in the same finish and had the S1 switch removed too. Lovely basses 👍

Thanks for all the interesting replies, but I'm afraid @Old Horse Murphy wins the prize

You're passionate and you're trying to find an outlet for your passion Andy. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Add that type of passion to creativity and of course you're likely to have clashes: it happens in all walks of life.
Give yourself a break mate. Your self-preservation kicked in at the right time and you left before you fell out of love with music and being in a band. Something will come along, it just wasn't this thing.

I thought I was the only one.
Don't get me started on pee'ing accuracy. Put it like this, I'd make your average Stormtrooper seem like the best shot in the galaxy.-

This certainly gives a different meaning of Lebensraum to me.
Or should that be Lebenszimmer?

During my life I've certainly eaten for more than 10,000 hours but still regularly manage to spill food down my shirt.
Clearly the theory is flawed

I spoke with Dawn today about an unrelated matter but took the time to pass on my own personal gratitude as well as (I hope) that of the wider bass playing community. I'm sure others did too far more eloquently than I other could: a lovely gracious lady who represents her, Rob and the wider Status family.
Dawn was quick to point out it was a "semi" retirement and I for one
will be interested to see what the future holds. I'm glad I rediscovered Status when I did.
Wishing them all the very best in what I hope will be a long fulfilling future

Very cool indeed. I had a SVT-CL and an SVT-810 a while ago. The cab was a breeze with the bar and wheels but the head was another story. It came in a flight case that weighed another 15 or so KGs so the whole lot weighed around 55kgs with those silly fold out wire handles.
I was carrying it one day and stumbled and as I went to stop the head from falling I managed to tear my bicep partially off the bone!
I sold it shortly afterwards...but at least I could say I owned an Ampeg stack once! 😎

Lovely. I really like the models with the edge binding too. Very underrated basses 👍

I'm not really a fan of red basses but the finish on this is gorgeous. Love the reverse P pickup too.
