  1. Having recently gone back to graphite necks has been a godsend.

That said, my old P Bass needs a tiny tweak once or twice a year but other than that it's a good as gold. My 4003S however is obviously made of  cheese as it's all over the place right now and that has two truss rods!

  2. So after falling in love again with graphite necks I decided to have a bit of a switch around and picked up a 2021 S2 thru neck with a stunning walnut top and it also has the pickups fitted in the same position on the Chris Wolstenholme model. It's absolutely stunning and absolutely spotless too.

Ergonomically it's very different to the Kingbass and feels a little bit more "traditional" to me and my usual Fender derivatives; I feel a lot more comfortable with it on a strap than the Kingbass, but the 32" scale and 16.5mm spacing on the Kingbass is just amazing to play.

Man, I really like the wood grain. Killer 😍 I think the black PG looks great too.

I am still looking for my "Motown" bass and this beauty ticks lots of boxes (esp. the 62 pickup). Fortunately (for my bank account ;- ), it does not have the rosewood FB that I am looking for, so I should be safe from making an offer. Well, let's see 😉

    GLWTS 👍

Thanks 😊It's actually wearing lightweight nickel rounds at the moment but up until a week or so ago it had TI flats on it for that extra P Bass thud

  4. For sale is my stunning US 75th Anniversary P Bass with a one piece ash body and finished in a stunning Bourbon Burst. It has factory fitted gold hardware and comes with the limited edition silver case, all the certificates and accessories and the original mint and after market black pickguard. It's in immaculate condition. It weighs in at 4.2kg (9lbs 2-3oz).

The neck is finished is a lovely natural satin lacquer in the back and gloss on the front (although not thick or sticky at all).

It's a simply stunning bass but is getting little use.

I'm looking for £1,550 delivered via courier fully insured of £1,500 picked up from near Monmouth and I'm happy to travel within an hour's drive to hand it over.

    Not looking for trades thanks.

    I love that Kay 👍

  6. I'm a fan too and agree with Lozz's comments. I've had mine for a number of years now and it's still as robust as it was when I bought it.

They're very roomy too for all your other odds and sods. The shoulder straps are actually very comfortable and the whole thing is built like a tank but you need to remember to duck when going through doorways!

I'm really saddened by this.  Steve did some work on one of my basses a good few years ago and I spent a really pleasant couple of afternoons over at his place in Birkenhead, dropping off and picking up the bass.  I'd been listening a free Mojo CD on the way over and was telling him I'd been in raptures listening to Half Man, Half Biscuit's 'National Shite Day' on this thing.  He proceeded to regale me with tales of the lead singer, who happened to live just a short distance away from him.  I found Steve to be a thoroughly engaging and decent guy.  Hell, it was only a very weeks ago he commented on a thread of mine.  What a sad, sad loss.  My sincere condolences to his family.

Gosh, that blindsided me. My dealings were limited to online only, but he was always very insightful and very kind and gentle. A real sad loss 😢
