  1. These Pro II's are super basses. Well done 👍
  2. Very nice. I've had (am having) a consolidation at the moment too and it's quite a cathartic experience which I'm hoping will ultimately be more rewarding. Good luck with everything
  3. Q is no more sadly. At the other end of the CSNY timeline, there's this: the ultimate break-up song written about Mr Crosby. Very sad but very poignant and just an amazing song beautifully performed:
  4. I'm not really a fan of black guitars/basses but my main bass is black (go figure). I've never been a massive fan of white either. I'm won't own red guitars as (superstitiously) any time I've had a red instrument I've had a bit of bad luck. Again, highly dubious but you can't help the way you feel. I used to love sunburst (still do really) but it doesn't excite me as much to look at. I like Daphne and Sonic blue and a good surf green too but my favourite is a natural gloss finish. I do like a nice bit of sparkle though 😂
  5. For sale is a Cloudvocal Isolo Choice Wireless Saxophone Mic System that has been used once due to my band folding. At this moment in I'm unlikely to be gigging Sax for a while at least. It's a super piece of kit that allows completely wireless mic'ing on a saxophone or other wind instrument and comes complete with mic, receiver/mixer, mounting pads, carry case and leads. It also comes with a UK adaptor, so is ready to be used straight away. These have received excellent reviews from Jay Metcalf and other such Sax players. Yours for £300 plus 5 postage.
  6. Very nice. Yamaha is one of the few mainstream brands I haven't owned too. I've played a few BB's and have been impressed but always found the bodies a bit big aesthetically. They're definitely on the list to explore should I ever decide to buy another bass that doesn't have "Fender" on the headstock.
  7. For sale is my Fishman Loudbox Artist 120w acoustic combo with additional footswitch and soft cover. The amp is the non-Bluetooth version and has two channels with built-in effects. All in a box that weighs just over 20lbs its in super condition apart from a tiny nick on the front corner (pictured). I'd rather this was picked up or meet near Monmouth but am happy to post for an additional £20. Yours for £350 (plus postage)
  8. Not sure if this should be posted in the EUB/DB section or not.
  9. Maybe it's a Tolkien Gollum Signature Precioussss Bass
  10. I assume you're referring to me rather than the bass...
  11. I went for chrome on my recent build. Nothing else looked quite "right" to me. Yours looks a very similar body colour.
  12. Oops. Updated. I'll sell his Mum later on once the Ironing's done!
  13. Pino Palladino says as you get older, the Bass gets higher in the strap and tone gets rolled off more. Hope that helps
  14. For sale is a 2004 Music Man Stingray 5 in a gorgeous Honeyburst finish. It comes with the original case too. Condition is very good and it's really clean and it has a lovely low action. It does have a few chips in the finish but these are very small (I'll take some more photos shortly). Weight is 9lbs 12oz according to my digital scales. It does sit on a strap very well and until I weighed it, I thought it weighed a lot less. The neck and frets are in excellent condition and it plays beautifully. Im looking for £1,200 picked up from either Monmouth or happy to meet within an hour's travel. No trades please. More photos to follow.
  15. It might be worth trying an EMG pickup and harness in there as they can be fitted with no/very minimal modification. It might be more to your liking sonically while still retaining the good stuff the P Basses are renowned for.
  16. So sad. Martin was a lovely guy and the lifeblood of Basschat. The forum will be a colder place without him. I had many dealings with Martin over the years and he was always an absolute pleasure and naturally very funny. I really used to enjoy receiving pm's from him as they always made me laugh. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
  17. Sadly I'd look more like a wrestler that a rockstar if I wore spandex
  18. I'm in love. I lusted after a Washburn in the early 90's that looked like that
  19. I just weighed my 2004 SR5 and it weighs 9lb 12oz which is a lot more than I thought. On a strap however (and in hand too) it feels the same, if not lighter than my black P Bass which is 1/2lb lighter. I guess a lot of the effects of weight really do depend on ergonomics, the type of strap and the height you wear it.
