Such sad news. My thoughts are with you. Keep your chin up

It's funny: he definitely appears to be a force of nature and the Cure seems very-much his band, so I wondered how different a solo album would sound. I may be pleasantly surprised. He has always given the band full songwriting credits all the way through (unlike a number of artists) so in the case of Lol Tolhurst even when he went off the rails during the recording of Disintegration (he's listed as plying "other instruments" or something similar) he still gets a full writing credit

The whole of Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me is a brilliant album and probably their most mainstream too. Disintegration takes a few listens and is definitely worth listening to through headphones to capture all the layering effects. It is sublime though and is worth persevering with. Incidentally, I went to school with the daughter of Chris Parry (their manager) and around the time of Disintegration she got us in to quite a few gigs and we got to meet the band several times. As a result I'm a huge fan and if Simon G is leaving they will miss a massive part of their make up (pun intended).

There's a first for everything! I always find Jazz bodies a bit bigger and as a result, often heavier too. That's just my opinion but looking s photos they do seem to be a bit larger.

If you run Jazz Bass pickups both at full volume you get that sort of out of phase sound with a lower overall volume output which then increases when you turn one of the pickups down. It shouldn't be massively discernible though. Are the pickups roughly the same height? I always find a bridge pickup to be quieter than the neck one and have had to adjust pickup heights to balance them out.

I always thought the Jazz body was larger 🤔

My Mum and Dad was pretty weird

Very true but I guess the shorter neck helps a bit. That's a nice weight for a Ric

Really interesting reading Mart. I'm surprised the JMJ is as heavy as it is as the one I had was super-light. Still, I guess 8lbs is no fatty really.

That looks lovely. I have it's cousin.

Stingray for me. A bit more fizz and nice depth too

Oh to be perilously turning 30 again...

I bought this in May as a back up to my main P Bass, but sadly both bands I was in have folded and it has literally sat there doing nothing. For sale is a Fender American Pro II P Bass in Mystic Surf Green. It comes complete with the new style ABS case and all accessories and is in immaculate condition apart from the tiniest of marks on the pickguard near the truss rod access point. It has a really nice low action and weighs 8lbs 5oz according to my wife's kitchen scales. I'm looking for £1,260 delivered. No trades please

New Cab Day - GR AT Carbon 110 (4Ohms)

Great stuff. I've got the 212 version and I love it. I'm guessing you have to keep the head on top of the cab to stop it floating away... -
Good man. Now, about that Fodera grub screw....
