  1. I'd go for @Sibob's Lakland P Bass he has advertised here. Seriously, for pretty much the same price as a US P Bass (which are excellent by the way) you'd be buying a sublime bass in the colour scheme of your choice. Alternatively, I'd go for the US P Bass. They're seriously good instruments.
  2. I've played Michael's Jazz and it's a super bass. Bang for buck it's decidedly right up there.
  3. Lovely. I need a P Bass with a maple neck in my life at some point, especially black and maple.
  4. Thanks chaps. I was hoping for a collage of my finest moments over the last 14 years as a member of Basschat, with an instrumental version of Days by The Kinks playing in the background (not that there are many finest moments). Actually, that wouldn't be such a good idea as all it would consist of is "I just bought a new Bass and it's definitely a keeper..." quickly followed by "for sale is a Bass I recently acquired...."
  5. This one? https://www.basschat.co.uk/clients/purchases/2899-marketplace-yearly-subscription/
  6. Some of the endorsee photos though....
  7. It's funny, I really don't like PJs aesthetically but if I play one, I generally use just the P pickup. With a Jazz I'll never use just the bridge pickup on its own.
  8. Amen. I've had a number of sound checks where the Bass in particular sounds awful, thin and quiet. It's a totally different story when there are people in the room.
  9. I think I need to realise that a Jazz isn't a P Bass, so stop trying to use it as one and don't be disappointed when it doesn't sound like one too. I've restrung it with DR Sunbeams and the round wounds make all the difference for me and it fills that gap sonically that I didn't have with my other basses. So I now have a P Bass with flats, a P Bass with rounds, a Fretless and a Jazz. I think that should do me for a while at least.
  10. I feel a Cinderella's glass slipper moment coming on...
  11. Is it doing anything structural? Gotta love a bit of pointy
  12. I shared a gig where the other band's bass player had one of these and it sounded brilliant. Cool looking too
  13. When a chance came to get hold of one of my old basses back in a trade I of course had to say yes. This arrived today: a 2014 Fender AV 64 Reissue Jazz in a FSR Daphne Blue with matching headstock. It's bloody lovely so goodness knows why I got rid of it in the first place. I have a love/hate thing with Jazzes but hopefully it will hang around for a while. We'll see...
  14. This is my one: a Fender Japan Unlined Fretless Jazz neck, a swamp ash P Bass body I had made for me and a set of EMG Jazz pickups.
  15. Having been asked about trades, I'd consider a px on a lightweight Fender US Jazz Bass in excellent condition or an 80's 2EQ Stingray with the balance in cash my way.
  16. No worries Simon. I'm probably going to hang on to it for a bit longer without trading it in as there's really nothing I fancy at the moment. I think I'm coming down with something.
  17. Fingers crossed for you
