  1. Well this is a first for me. This morning I took delivery of a secondhand Ibanez Fanned Fret Bass (the SRFF805) which is actually my very first Ibanez and my first fanned fret. The multi scale runs from 35.5" on the B to 34" on the G so it's very comfortable. Build quality is excellent and the active/passive eq is really good indeed. Now all I need to do is wait to use it in anger sometime in the (hopefully) not too distant future...
  2. A couple of weeks ago I was offered the bass gig for an established Bristol/South West band with around 25 well paid gigs this year. The thing that really appealed was the keyboardist also plays a bit of bass so I was asked to play some sax too (gigs like this don't come up often I find). My first gig was due to be 25th April, after a load of rehearsals but sadly every single rehearsal and gig has been cancelled until at least June/July. Oh well, more time to practice at least I guess.
  3. I switched to Nickel Slinkys too Loz and now only have one bass with TI Flats on. They seem to last ages too and are very comfortable.
  4. Thanks mate. I'm actually looking for some light nickel roundwounds and thought these might do the job
  5. For sale is a great little Belcat ABS-520 Instrument Selector Switch that allows to change between instruments easily. Each channel has an independent volume which is okay to a point (not the best or most sensitive volume control) but is a really good, solid little pedal and very quiet when switching between instruments. Yours for £20 inc postage.
  6. I bought these for my Fender JMJ and while they're short scale, they're a bit too short for a string through bridge (as per the JMJ). Opened but completely unused and yours for £16 inc.
  7. I was wondering whether there are any Scottish Basschatters who are able to assist in getting bass delivered to Wales at all.
  8. I haven't yet responded. That's probably the safest way to leave it 😂
  9. So it arrived back, surprisingly well packaged and unmolested. As per my suspicions, after a quick blow it plays superbly right the way across the range with no issues. Feedback I want to leave would be something along the lines of "time wasting pink torpedo". Never mind. Onwards
  10. My first job after uni was playing rugby but I found that too exciting so became an accountant. I am currently the Operations Director for a large Law Firm (basically looking after everything that allows Lawyers to do "law stuff" and not worry about practical things). I am also a trustee of a children's theatre group (part of my "giving something back" commitment I made a few years ago).
  11. Unfortunately he paid by PayPal, so the odds are even more in his favour And just to confirm my suspicions, he's just messaged asking me how much I'd sell one of my other saxes for.....I'm lost for words
  12. Just sold a Sax to a chap in Redditch and hand delivered it for which he was delighted. A few hours later, I get a notification from EBay saying he wants to return it as it's faulty. It isn't but given EBay's general stance towards supporting buyers, I don't think it's worth the breath in challenging it. To add insult to injury, he has suggested that it's a cheap knockoff (after admitting prior he's never tried this particular brand before but stated "it's not what you'd expect from xxx". How would you know if you'd never tried one?) It's not. It was bought from a reputable music shop who are a main dealer for this particular brand. My thoughts are he tried it, didn't like it and wants to return it. To say I'm angry and frustrated doesn't quite do it justice. I'm done with EBay.
  13. For sale are a couple of new and unused reissue Fender G&G Cases (one 50's tweed and one 60's Tolex). Both are in super unused condition (apart from a tiny pin prick of wear on the black tolex one- pictured and a funny glue thing on the corner of the tweed one- pictured) and come with keys. As you can see, the handles are still unwrapped. The plush red lining is gorgeous and looks so comfortable I half expect to find Count Dracula asleep one one of them one day. I'm looking for £110 each, picked up from either Bristol, Monmouth or meet somewhere not too far from either place. I'm not interested in posting these currently as I don't have any boxes available. Also available is a black generic ABS Case that will fit a P or J Bass. It's in super condition and also comes with keys. I'm looking for £50.
  14. It was a table my Stepmother gave us, John, shortly before she invaded Poland
  15. For sale is my spare amp, a Mark Bass Little Mark 800 Tube plus original Mark Bass amp bag. Both are in excellent overall condition and have been little used. The amp was bought as a spare/for home use but has been gigged once or twice. That said, it's in immaculate condition. It did have a bit of a very intermittent crackle at one stage but this appears to have been sorted with some contact cleaner. Other than that, it's been as good as gold. I'm looking for £360 inc. postage
  16. I've only had this a few months but it's not quite what I need at the moment. For sale is a super Fender Downtown Express multi FX pedal (compressor, eq and Overdrive plus DI etc). They are superbly built and sound really good too and when lit up fully (all the knobs have LED's) they look very pretty as well. This one has Velcro on the back as it had been on my board for a while but it is in spotless condition. I swore I still had the box but can't find it, so will sell as unboxed. Of course, if I subsequently find the box I'll send it on. You're for £105 inc postage
  17. Time for a bit of a clearout I think. Wiring loom from a 2012 Fender American Series Telecaster- £30 plus £3 postage Black pickguard (genuine Fender) from a 2012 US Fender Telecaster- £15 inc postage 1 Unused Stratocaster white pickguard- £5 plus £2 postage Roland Gold Series 6" patch cable (new and unused)- £8 inc
