  1. Thanks Nik Sadly it's not getting much use at all and it's way too nice to use as a hat stand!
  2. With huge thanks to @lurksalot and @Leonard Smalls I'm delighted to say that I was able to get a bass from Liverpool to my home in Monmouth. I'm incredibly grateful to both of these Sterling Basschatters and of course if I can ever reciprocate, please don't hesitate to ask. Now, where's my rubber gloves and emergency tetanus shot? A good scrub of the bass is required as I fear the previous owner hasn't cleaned it since about 1984....
  3. I've always been of the mindset (perhaps wrongly) that unless they're paying me to play for/with them, then my creative input is as important as any of the other band members. Obviously if I'm a hired hand, then that's very different. Doing it for free means to me, that it should be fun, not totally prescribed by somebody else.
  4. If you were able to get it to Ludlow that would be amazing. I could pick it up from yours whenever was convenient
  5. I'm wondering if there are any kind Basschatters in or around Ellesmere Port who are able to help me get a Hohner B2A to Monmouth or Bristol for me. Unfortunately the seller won't post, so if anyone is able to pick it up and post it for me I'd of course pay all costs and for a few beers too

Glad you got it sorted @Old Horse Murphy
This is a neat solution for those who don't like posting basses
Good luck with your new Hohner mate :)

  7. Sorry, meant to add that I'm not looking for trades but may consider a p/x with a Fender JMJ. Not looking for anything else though thanks

  9. Not sure about this one but I really can't decide between my SR5 and the Tony Franklin. It's a 2019 Fender Tony Franklin on virtually mint condition apart from a tiny lacquer crack on the bottom bout (pictured) it comes with the case and all the candy and has probably been played for an hour. Other than that, it's absolutely pristine. Its currently strung with a new set of TI Flats but the original strings are also included. I'm looking for £1,400 plus shipping, which is a huge saving on a new one of these. Thanks for looking
  10. I've not had this long at all, but I'm afraid the B String has beaten me and well, my Tony Franklin more than adequately covers my fretless needs... For sale is a stunning and immaculate Music Man SR5 Unlined Fretless in Natural. It really is spotless (no wear at all on the Pau Ferro fingerboard) apart from a few minor swirls on the pickguard. It's just been restrung with a set of Ernie Ball Slinkys and plays beautifully. It also weighs in at just over 9lbs which is very unusual for a SR5 of this vintage. This Bass is superb but I can't quite get my head around it unfortunately. It comes with the original Music Man case and I am happy to post for cost or it can be picked up from Bristol or Monmouth.
  11. Here's my other unlined fretless and a vastly different beast to the Tony Franklin
  12. Ah I remember it well. Unfortunately it met a very unceremonious end when my car was involved in an accident. It now wanders the streets of Bristol at midnight looking for its head...
  13. Lovely. And of course if you buy this Ray you're GUARANTEED to play and sound just like Mr Edwards.....but you may not, which is obviously due to your amp set up so you'll need to change that too...
  14. Thanks Mike. I'm guessing you're not 8ft tall and weigh around 33 stone. If you were, this would be a lovely compact short-scale bass that you definitely should consider. Hmm, now where's Hagrid when you need him: a bass player if ever I saw one. More pics added as promised.
  15. For sale is a stunning absolutely mint 2014 Classic Stingray in natural with maple fingerboard. It weights in at around 9lbs and comes with the case and all the candy (also in super condition). Action is low and it sounds immense. It also comes with original black and Tortoise shell pickguards and is strung with a. New set of Ernie Ball Super Slinkys. Unfortunately due to a few more purchases this isn't getting a look in and it deserves to be played. I'll put more pics up shortly but it truly is spotless and a beautiful Basses to play and/or just look at! I'm looking for £1,400 and happy to post or meet up in Bristol or Monmouth if it helps.
  16. For sale are two LD Systems Neoprene Bodypack holders with windows at the front and a slot for the belt clip to go through on the rear. They're very well made and measure approx. 13.5cms x 9cms and have Velcro fasteners. I bought them from Germany but they are slightly too big for what I need so they are unused (one still bagged and one opened to take photos). Yours for £6 each plus £1 for postage.
  17. My three: my 1989 US Standard is the only bass I would never part with; it's been with me too long and I know how every single knock and bump got there. It's been modded somewhat with a new bridge, change of pickguard, it's been active and passive at different stages and had Sims LED's fitted on the side of the fretboard. It's also one of the best sounding P Basses I've ever played strung with roundwounds. Next is my Tony Franklin Fretless P Bass currently strung with roundwounds it's a stunning Bass and plays beautifully. Finally is my recently acquired Fender American Original 60's P Bass. These are something else and easily as good as any Fender Custom Shops I've played or owned. It's currently strung with an old set of TI Flats and is absolutely sublime.
  18. I too am an unlined Fretless player and agree with everyone's comments I why they're preferable (to me) than lined Fretlesses and perhaps more importantly, I think they look better too 😉
  19. It is. I took it in a trade a short while ago. It's absolutely immaculate but I'm not sure 6 stringers are for me anymore so am going to move it on. It is very pretty though 😂
