  1. For sale is a set up chrome Pickup and Bridge covers for a P Bass that Were fitted to a P Bass I’ve just bought. They do come with fitting screws but for some reason they’re slothead screws as opposed to Phillips but they fit perfectly. Both covers are in very good condition. Yoirs for £25 inc. postage
  2. Just bought a lovely amp off Andy and spent a while talking bass! A thoroughly nice guy and highly recommended.
  3. For sale/trade is a stunning Martin 00-18V from around 2003 complete with original hard case. Not to be confused with the standard 00-18, this one is part of the Marquis range. Both guitar and case are in excellent condition apart from the odd mark commensurate with its age and a nitro finish ( there are a few swirls, a couple of pick marks and some tiny marks on the edges but very clean overall). The guitar has recently been strung with Elixir Nanoweb strings and I have had a LR Baggs M1 passive pickup fitted which sounds wonderful. At the same time I had a strap button fitted at the bottom of the heel. This guitar is part of the much vaunted Vintage Series guitars Martin released around 15 years ago. The Martin 00-18V acoustic was introduced in 2003 as part of the vintage series. It has a 14-frets to the body “00” Grand Concert body size and vintage Martin features - like the old style 18 soundhole rosette and inlays, vintage belly bridge, large headstock and aging toner finish. The 00-18V has a relatively wide neck - 1.75" inches at the nut - making it ideal for fingerpicking. This guitar has started ageing beautifully and sounds wonderful and deep now. Sadly the string spacing is a bit too wide for me (perfect for a bass player!) and I need to invest in a D18, D28 or J45 which would be better suited for my needs which is basically strumming! These currently retail at well over £3,000. I’m looking for a trade for an excellent condition Gibson J45 or Martin D18 or D28. I’d also consider a Status S2 or R*c 4003S of Fender CS Strat or Tele. For sale price is £1,500. 4. It’s actually narrower rather than thinner so Scott’s right with his description.
  5. Thanks chaps. It’s a stunning bass, but I just prefer a slightly thicker neck

  7. Thanks again for all your kind comments. They really are very much appreciated
  8. Errr, sadly not. You really need to talk to someone about this.... (moving away quickly) 😂

  10. Wind back five years and you’ll hopefully understand why this bass is as special to me as it is.... In Feb 2013 I was diagnosed with a massive tumour on my right kidney. It was at Stage 3 due to the size (an unbelievable 9.5kgs!) and I was told by the surgeon that it they didn’t operate soon it would kill me one way or another. On Thursday last week, I was given the good news that I had no signs of recurrence and that they were leaving it to me whether I wanted to continue under observation; in short they were happy for me to be discharged. To get to the 5 year milestone was something I wasn’t sure I’d ever get to, so to say I’m relieved is an understatement! After a few tears (something in my eye) my wife told me to treat myself and knew I’d been hankering after one of these: who was I to refuse! After an early morning start I picked this up from Bass Direct on Saturday. The guys kindly restrung it with TI Flats and it really is the best Fretless I have owned. It is more special to me than words can adequately convey. Here it is:
