Fender American Elite or Fender Marcus Miller Jazz?
Old Horse Murphy replied to woodywyatt's topic in Bass Guitars
Fender have discontinued the Marcus Jazz. It seems to have a bit of a mixed reputation, I loved the one I tried but I've heard a few people who seem not so keen. Apparently the 4 string was made in Japan whilst the 5 string was USA built, the 5 seems to have more fans. I'm hoping to try one of the new Elites myself. It's predecessor, the Deluxe, seems to have had a few problems, particularly that the N3 noiseless pickups weren't that noiseless. It'll be interesting to see if the next generation N4s have solved that problem.
Having recently acquired a US Geddy and having previously owned a Marcus Miller and a US Deluxe Fender, I think you'd be disappointed once you move your Geddy on. Superb basses -
For sale is my Mesa Boogie Subway D800 amp that I bought brand new from Bass Gear earlier this year. It has remained virtually unused since I bought it and hasn't even been rehearsed with! A pending house move means that for the foreseeable future that will remain the case. As a result, it's spotless. No box unfortunately but all hang tags and paperwork (plus gigbag). Yours for £640 inc postage (although I won't be able to post until Saturday). FEATURES

Designed & Handcrafted in Petaluma, California
Class D Power with 8/4 or 2 Ohm Impedance Switch for optimum Power to Load Performance
800 Watts @ 4 or 2 Ohms (400 @ 8)
Active/Passive Input Switch
Play/Mute Switch
Preamplifier features: Input Gain with Clip Indicator (O/D LED), Variable Voicing (Flat to Vintage Scoop), Fully Active 4-Band EQ (+/- 12dB of Bass, Low-Mid, High-Mid, Treble) plus Deep Switch (for enhanced low-end) and Master Volume
Balanced XLR Line Out with Pre/Post, Line/Mic & Ground Lift Switches
Headphone Output
Auxiliary Input
Protection & Limit LED Indicators
2 Speakon Speaker Output Jacks
Fan Cooled
Gig Bag w/Strap
For sale is a folding Kingsman Stool/guitar stand. It s a super lightweight bit of kit that folds down neatly for transportation. I bought this when I hurt my back and it was wonderful for gigging with. It is very sturdy and safe and has the added benefit of having a guitar stand built in to it These cost £28 plus delivery. Mine is in super nick and I'm selling for £20 picked up from either Woking (weekends) or Bristol (weekdays). Combination stand and stool Folds flat for transport Holds acoustic and electric guitars and basses Large padded seat Strong, portable and lightweight Seat Height Approximately 70cm From Ground Level

For Sale is a virtually new Fender branded High Mass Bridge which has been heavily influenced by the Badass 2 bridge (5 screw holes, non-string through). These are now fitted to the US Geddy Lee basses and Nate Mendel basses instead of the now discontinued Badass Bridges. They're a great bit of kit. Yours for £50 inc.
