1. Possibly Andy, if you're willing to wait a bit while I pack it up. Just checked Interparcel and inc P&P I could do it for £60
2. All of my basses that I gig with regularly have a number of nicks in exactly the same place due to cymbals. On small stages or in pubs it seems to be a fact of life and a gigging rite of passage At least you're out there using it. Embrace the dings; you've earnt them!
3. I use Mono Betty straps and Schaller straplocks on my Ray (well, all my basses)
4. Well you know where to come if you need another one Always a discount offered to repeat customers
5.
Just sold mine 4 weeks ago as I wasnt using it. Typically joineda new band and bought an acoustics bass so need one Again. Ive done this three times now lol
Me too
6. For sale is a mint condition Radial Bigshot I/o true bypass instrument selector. It allows you to choose and select between 2 instruments and adjust output volumes to match. It's completely passive and doesn't require batteries. It's a great pedal if you gig with more than 1 bass. The cheapest I can find these in the UK is for £83 plus p&p. I'm selling my one in super condition (inc original box but no instructions) for £67 inc postage. Some blurb: BigShot™ I/O True Bypass Instrument Selector The Radial BigShot i/o is an easy to use instrument selector that lets you quickly transition between any two instruments and send the output signal to your amp. Because the i/o is 100% true-bypass, it addresses the needs of the most demanding purist. To enhance functionality, input-B is equipped with a trim control called DIM that lets you use two different types of instruments and set the levels so that they match. You simply connect the louder of your two instruments into input B and set the level to suit. When passive instruments are used, a unique 'bright' switch lets you compensate for high frequency loss when using longer cables. The BigShot i/o is also equipped with a separate tuner output. With a simple foot stomp, the sound going to the amp is muted and diverted to the tuner for quiet on-stage adjustments. Super compact, extremely rugged and 100% passive, the BigShot i/o does not require any powering to make it work. This makes it ideal for pedalboards where the use of batteries or power supplies is painful! The BigShot i/o... the perfect instrument selector for stage use. Features: Toggle two instruments with single foot stomp Adjustable volume control to match levels Separate tuner output and mute switch Load compensation for long cables
7. For sale is a nice set of Carvin flats. Good condition, nicely broken in with just a little bit of fraying on the silks. Gauge is 45-65-85-105. Cut for a 3 over 1 headstock (34" scale bass). These cost £25 new and I'm selling this set for £16 inc. postage.
8. I met Pete and his son today to swap basses. He's a thoroughly nice guy and the whole deal was as good as it gets. Highly recommended
9. Loving it thanks Jack. I managed to tweak the action somewhat and it's a lot more playable for me. I will get it looked at some stage but there's no rush. Hope the PT4 is still as good as you first thought
10.
Jack, with the TIs you can try (1) playing very near the bridge where there is less elasticity to dig into or (2) playing right over the end of the fingerboard where less is less space to dig into. I do (2) with TIs.
It probably doesn't help that the fool he got the bass from likes a ridiculously low action
11. I met the fair Brian briefly today to pass on my Mesa Boogie valve amp for a couple of bits from him. Sadly we didn't get a chance to talk for too long but he's a lovely guy and highly recommended
12. For sale is my recently acquired Mike Lull V4 Jazz bass in immaculate condition in a gorgeous two-tone sunburst. It was bought new from Bass Direct earlier this year. It's a wonderful bass and has recently been set up with TI Flats and plays beautifully. It comes with with a Lull branded Protec Contego Gigbag and certificate. It weighs in at 8lbs so is beautifully light and has a really comfortable Jazz neck with a low, fast action. I've decided to try and move it on as I have my eye on something else. If it doesn't go, I won't be in the least bit upset. It really is in immaculate condition. I'm looking for £1,650 for it, which is over a £250 saving on a new one. Here is the spec: Mike Lull V4 - (List price £2650) •Alder Body •Tortoise pickguard •2 tone sunburst •Maple one piece graphite reinforced neck •Contoured neck/heel •Madagascar Rosewood fingerboard, 12" radius •21 frets •Bone nut, 1 1/2" width at nut •34" scale •Black dot inlays •Volume, Volume, tone •Aquilar 60's J pickups •Full electrostatic shielding •Hipshot "A" style aluminium bridge in chrome, 19mm string spacing •Hipshot ultralight tuners in chrome •Instrument fully Pleck'd •Protec Gig Bag •Weight: 3.5kg/8lb I'll add more pics ASAP
13. Amp definitely now sold and price reduced to £700 for the cab for a quick sale. I'd also consider a trade for either a Bergantino CN212 or a pair of CN112's. I'd also consider a pair of Aguilar SL112's or an Epifani UL410 with some cash my way
14.
My dear god Nick you dont half go through some lovely gear mate. I'd take both rig and bass from you if I didn't need to sort my roof out
Thanks Col. Roofs are overrated. Especially in Wales
15. I've been asked a few times about trade options and would consider a Status S2 Classic 5 string in equally good condition or a Mike Lull P Bass also in equally good condition. If also consider a light Stingray 5 String in good nick plus £600 my way. That's about it I'm afraid
16. As part of my attempted cull, I've decided to put a couple of my Lulls up for sale (this and my PJ4) and will keep whichever one doesn't go. Here is my Mike Lull PT4 in immaculate condition, complete with padded Gigbag. I bought it in the Summer from Bass Direct and it's in superb condition and not yet gigged by me. It has recently been set up with TI Flats and a lovely low action. I'm using Bass Direct's original pictures at the moment until I can take my own but it's in the same condition (thanks to them for borrowing their artwork ). It's Mahogany bodied and unlike most PT4's there's no pickguard which (I think) adds to the aesthetics massively. It also weighs in at a lovely 9lbs. Brand new, this would cost £3,000 and is hand-made. I'm looking for £1,600 and it can be picked up from either Woking (weekends) or Bristol (weekdays). I'm also happy to post insured at cost. Here's the spec: Mike Lull PT4 (list price £3,000) Mahogany Body Natural gloss Maple one piece graphite reinforced neck Contoured neck/heel Rosewood fingerboard, 12" radius 21 frets Bone nut, 1 3/4" width at nut 34" scale Volume, Volume, Passive tone Custom wound T pickups Full electrostatic shielding Hipshot "A" style aluminium bridge in chrome 19mm string spacing Hipshot ultralight tuners Instrument fully Pleck'd Weight: 4.1kg/9lb 0oz
17.
I wouldn't use this either... But by God I'd enjoy sitting looking at it!
That's pretty much all I've done for the last two months
18. For sale is a Mesa Boogie Powerhouse 610 4 ohm cab with cover in excellent condition. This is a reluctant sale indeed but it's simply not being used. It comes with original the Mesa Boogie cover I'd let the head go for £1,400- HEAD SOLD PENDING I'd let the the Cab (which is rarer than Hen's teeth) for £700 for a quick sale. It can be picked up from either Woking (weekends) or Bristol (weekdays). The amp Is officially 250w but is much louder in reality and through the 610 sounds wonderful. The head was recently serviced by an official Ampeg repair shop. It does however have a very faint radio crackle which I'm told is likely to be a slightly unseated preamp valve. I've been quoted around £50 to have this looked at and fixed (I'm a Luddite so don't want to risk doing it myself). It's an easy job apparently and I've priced the head to take this in to consideration.
