1. I recently sold Nik a Gramma Pad in a totally hassle-free and (as always) pleasant deal. Definitely one of the good guys and highly recommended
2. Thanks for all your feedback. I thought about the TI's but wasn't sure about the 32" strings on a 30" bass (a Gibson SG Standard). In the end I went for a set of La Bella 760FL's so will see how I get on
3. Apologies if this has been asked a million times (hope I'm not exaggerating ) but I've just sort of impulsively purchased a 30" scale bass and am looking for the best Flatwounds that would be similar to my usual TI JF344's I use on my other basses. Any advice would be most welcome
4. Mike bought a strap from me in a completely easy deal. He's a top guy to deal with and highly recommended
5. Never liked Single Cuts. Never liked 6 String basses. I think I do now. That's incredible
6.
Thought id posted this but cant seem to find the topic..... Anyway, I have a problem where I get severe crap in my picking hand thumb when playing particularly stiff strings. Any Elites flats users on here able to compare the stiffness of these against other flats like Fender or Picato?
Have you tried Huggies?
7.
Any chance of posting, Nick?
Hi Nik Yes, happy to post. I reckon it would cost a fiver but I probably won't be able to get it off until Thursday/Friday
8. I didn't think I'd be doing this so soon, but head rules heart for once and I don't need this and my Fender P Bass that's going nowhere. I've decided to put 2 of my Lull basses up for sale this ad my PT4) and will keep the one that doesn't sell. For sale is my August 2013 Mike Lull PJ bass with the cost option Nordstrand pickups and a gigbag. The certificate is also included. The colour is Aged Olympic White, but from the photo taken with a white piece of paper, you'll see it's going slightly creamier. The bass weighs 8lbs dead, so is very light and resonant. It's also in super condition. There are some very small marks on the back through the paint and a small patch of discolouration on the top edge which I've done my best to photograph. It's recently been set up with a new set of TI Flats and plays beautifully. The neck is very thin and the nut is Jazz Bass profile. I'm looking for £1,400 for the bass and am happy to post. It can be picked up from either Woking (weekends) or Bristol (weekdays).
9. Easily the best cab I ever owned and top of the "regret selling" list Great price too
10. Andy McCluskey from OMD plays a grey Jazz bass. I think it must be a refinish but not as dull as Midge's guitars!
11. My new Rig replacing the slightly too heavy Ampeg one:
12. I sold Daniel some strings in a totally smooth and hassle-free deal. He's a great chap to deal with and a lovely guy too
13. I recently sold Russ a Levys Strap in a very easy, pleasant deal. Highly recommended
14. You might want to drop jimelliottbassist on this forum a line. He was looking for a couple of Ampeg cabs and is London-based too
15.
A 57 year old bloke. False advertising and all that Now, if it said "The Shagged Out"..........
16. For sale is an Auralex Gramma Pad (version 1 measuring 23" x 15" and 300lb weight limit). It's in very good overall condition, but one of the foam feet probably needs to be glued on again as it comes loose. That said, it still sticks in place and once the cab is on it, it's rock solid. My cab is just a little bit too big for this now but it has served me extremely well so far and is a remarkable bit of kit. These currently retail at around £55. I'm looking for £35 for my one and it can be picked up from either Bristol (weekdays) or Woking (weekends) and I'm willing to meet up but would rather not post.
17. For sale is a Hercules GS525B multiple guitar stand for 5 basses. I actually bought the extra attachment separately for it so it comfortably holds 6 guitars safely. It's folds up relatively flat for transportation and holds basses very safely but is sadly being unused at the moment. It's in very good condition apart from a few scuffs but due to the size, I'd be reluctant to post. It can be picked up for either Woking (weekends) or Bristol (weekdays). These currently retail at around £70 new but I'm looking for £50 for my one. Here's the spec from the Hercules website: Accommodates 5 acoustic / electric / bass guitars with SFF (Specially Formulated Foam) covering all contact points Ultra-spacesaving, ideal for stage use One piece design for easy setup and carrying Yoke position is adjustable for a perfect fit Each TPR yoke features 4 pick slots *Use HA205 to hold even more guitars on GS525B Height: 640 mm (25.2") Weight: 4.4 kg (9.7 lbs) Load capacity: 80 kg (176 lbs) Folded size: 1010 mm x 110 mm x 710 mm (39.4x27.6") Base Radius: 1000 mm x 500 mm (39.4" x 19.7")
18. Erm, time to 'fess up I think....just a wee bit too heavy to be practical but I've certainly got the valve/large cab bug I fear
19. I just sold my Markbass can to Mark who picked it up on his way through to Brighton in a totally hassle-free deal. Highly recommended
20. For sale is a superb hand made black leather Mexican strap made by Paul Minotaur. The strap is soft cowhide leather 4mm thick, 65mm wide and can be adjusted up to 150cm in length. It's in super overall condition and was only used once or twice (strap locks were fitted at one stage so there are indents at the send of the strap) and cost me £30. I'm looking for £22 inc postage. Here's a link to Minotaur's website: http://www.minotaur.gr/product_info.php/cPath/24/products_id/93
