1. My 2 recent acquisitions; a 2012 Fender 64 Reissue and a Mike Lull M4V. Both are totally different in sound and feel, but I'm not sure I could say which one I prefer because they're so different. I've never been a Jazz. Bass fan at all until I found these 2. I'm not sure whether both are keepers for sure, but which one to move on.....? 2. Bump- trades considered either in guitar form or bass combo form plus cash my way
3. I had exactly this issue when the battery went on one of my Rays. Hopefully it's as simple as that Also, just in case you weren't aware, if you leave a jack plug in the bass even when not in use, it zaps the battery.
4. For sale is a stunning G&G Fender branded Tolex bass case in an unusual Blonde colour. It comes, with the keys and is in great condition apart from a few pinhole sized dings that have gone through the Tolex (pictured). These are very small though. The case came with. Fender Custom Shop 64 Jazz Bass. I can only find these on Thomann for in excess of £140 plus shipping in the more usual Tweed to black colour. I'm selling this one for £110 and it can be picked up from either Woking (weekends) or Bristol (weekdays).
5. For sale is a brand new TI Flatwound B String that I have found I my tool box. It's brand new and totally unused. Yours for £23 inc P&P
6. Here's my gorgeous Sandberg Fretless 5 String Jazz
7. For sale is a stunning 2007 Fender Tony Franklin Signature Fretless P Bass with a gorgeous ebony unlined neck. It comes with a Stagg hardcase, but none of the original accessories. It's in overall super condition, but there are a few marks on the lower edge and some wear on the back of the body. I've done my best to photograph these, but they are minor. Unfortunately Nitro finished bodies pick up marks quicker than Poly finishes. THe fingerboard is very clean with very minor wear. It comes with both official Fender black and tortoise pickguards that were bought especially for this Tony Frankiln Bass. Weight-wise it's probably around 8.5lbs. The bass is completely stock and has been well looked-after. This was one I intended to keep, but unfortunately something else came up I'm looking for £950. I'm happy to post this, but it can be picked up from Bristol during the week or Woking at weekends. Here's the spec from Fender's website: Body Material: Select Alder Body Finish: Nitrocellulose Lacquer Body Shape: Precision Bass® Neck Neck Material: Maple Neck Finish: Nitrocellulose Lacquer Neck Shape: Modern "C" Scale Length: 34" (864 mm) Fingerboard: Ebony Fingerboard Radius: 9.5" (241 mm) Number of Frets: Fretless Fret Size: Fretless String Nut: Synthetic Bone Nut Width: 1.625" (41.3 mm) Position Inlays: Side Dot Truss Rod Nut: 3/16" Hex Adjustment Neck Plate: 4-Bolt with Artist Signature Electronics Bridge Pickup: Tony Franklin Single-Coil Jazz Bass with Hex Screw Pole Pieces and Ceramic Bar Magnets Middle Pickup: Tony Franklin American Split Single-Coil Precision Bass Controls: Master Volume, Master Tone Pickup Switching: 3-Position Blade: Position 1. 8. I bought a bass off Matt this week and it was even better than described. Highly recommended and a pleasure to deal with
9.
It says 10lbs in the listing.
Thank you
10. Thanks guys. It's a beauty. Unfortunately I'm struggling with 5 strings due to an old hand injury Sandbergs are Simply wonderful instruments though. The build quality sound and playability are in a different league. In fact my main gigging bass is a Sandberg Ida Nielsen, so I'm a big fan
11. For sale is a stunning Sandberg California TM2 Lined Fretless 5 String Jazz I picked up in a trade. This bass is simply amazing. These basses are hand-made in Germany and are probably the best quality instruments I've played. It's is superb condition and is finished in a gorgeous Greenburst that has to be seen to be believed. The 34" scale neck has a lined Ebony fingerboard in super condition (a few small string marks but nothing that could photograph). It has active/passive electronics with Volume/pan/treble/bass with 2 MM style pickups. Hardware is black and it is in super condition apart from a very few minor swirls and a bit of wear on the pickguard that was impossible to photograph. The body is ash and a little weighty at 10lbs, although it sits very comfortably on the strap. It's currently strung with a brand new set of Elixirs and sounds wonderful with a nice low action. It also comes with a new Stagg hardcase (tolex covered) and a set of unfitted Schaller Straplocks in black. After speaking to Sandberg, the lead time for having one of these made at the workshop is now in excess of 5 months and would cost over £1,550. This is in super condition and considerably less Sandberg build quality is simply incredible and this is a rare and beautiful bass. I'm looking for £850. No trades please as I've just been able to buy one of my old basses back, otherwise this would be a keeper for sure. It can be picked up from either Woking (weekends) or Bristol (weekdays)
12. I've just taken delivery of 2 beautiful basses from Sexy. They are exactly as described and I'm very happy. He's a top guy to deal with and highly recommended
13.
If I had the money, I'd nab it... GLWTS!
Thanks. I've had a few offers of trades but need to sell this one unfortunately
14.
Duh.
15. I had the pleasure of meeting Simon on Sunday when he bought my Stingray 5. A top guy and a great person to deal with
16. For sale is a NS Design WAV EUB in Cherry finish over a flame maple top ( quite a rare finish). It's recently been set up and restrung. In good condition, couple of small dings and a small crack at the dusty end of the ebony fingerboard which was checked out by my tech and is rock-solid and doesn't affect playability or stability at all. The previous owner also had dot markers put on the side of the neck (very useful). Fingerboard and passive electrics are fine. Newish NS strings. The previous owner also added some removable foam mutes to give a DB type "thump" but these are simply resting I place and not fixed. Comes with stand which has been modified with an allen key adjustment for more stability when using the stand (Allen key included) and NS gigbag. Thanks to the previous owner as I've borrowed his pics. The spots on the bass are due to it starting to rain. I'm looking for £425 and the bass can be picked up from either Bristol (week days) or Woking (weekends). The current iteration of these sells for around £1,000. No trades please
17. This was recently acquired for a few gigs that I needed a 5 Stringer for. Now that the gigs are done, I'm looking for a trade with a 4 string Jazz style bass (preferably a 62 or 75 reissue Fender or a Sandberg. Possibly a Fender Geddy Lee or Marcus Miller with cash my way.) It's a 2003 in Candy Apple Red in wonderful condition apart from a very tiny bit of buckle rash that has been virtually impossible to photograph. I've had it fully set up by Si who used to work at Waghorn Guitars and it has been fitted with a new set of light gauge Fodera Nickels 40-120's with a medium height action (due to the light gauge strings). Weight-wise is around 9lbs, so very light and comfortable. It doesn't come with a case unfortunately but can be picked up from Woking at weekends or Bristol during the week. I'm looking of trades more than a sale at the moment, but could be persuaded if necessary (apologies and thanks to the previous owner for using his excellent photos).
