Just bought two Bacefaced cabs from Joe. This was a straightforward, trouble-free transaction, and Joe was a pleasure to deal with. Would recommend. Cheers Joe!

The best Formal, and Informal, musical lesson of your life?

I think that you need to clarify whether you were a fellow student or the teacher! -
The best Formal, and Informal, musical lesson of your life?

My best informal lesson was also from my mum. I had been playing a few months, and was showing her what I could do. Her response? “Can you do it with your mouth closed?” Also +1 with being on time and nice. I think it was Guy Pratt who attributed a lot of his success to being someone that people wanted in the room. -
No problems with signing in here, although over the last few days I have been receiving e-mail notifications from Basschat every time I sign in stating I have logged in from a new device. I always use Basschat via Safari through the same iPad.

Feels a bit odd asking this after almost 40 years of playing, but here goes. I have had a number of basses over the years, but one thing they have in common is that when I go to check the tuning before starting the second set of a gig it is always slightly sharp. This has always felt a little odd, but I have just accepted it. Is it normal, or could it be something I’m doing wrong? Cheers

I was once in a similar position to this when I left a band. In hindsight I behaved like a bit of a diva! As you left the band, and this appears to be more a point of principle rather than needing the cash, I would advise sitting back, trusting the others to do the right thing, and being the better person. If I could go back, that’s what I would do.

Did anyone else misread the title (and still click on it)?

Back up for sale is my 2021 Warwick Streamer LX5 limited edition (number 69 of 100) Pro Series, Team built made in Germany. It was bought on this forum in 2022. Body wood is Korina, neck wood is roasted flamed maple with Ekanga stripes. Fingerboard is Pau Ferro. Pickups are Bartolinis. The bass comes with the original Warwick RockBag and all accessories. The bass is super light, weighing just 3.7kg (8.2lbs). It is a great bass in excellent condition. There are just a couple of small marks on the bottom side of the body near the strap button and jack socket. Price is £1,250. Collection is preferred. However, I would be happy to meet up within a reasonable distance (I am based in North Essex). Not looking for trades. Cheers!

Bought a Barefaced cab off Dave. Thoroughly excellent chap. Agreed to meet me halfway for the handover, and was really patient when I was an hour late. Bloody M25! Thanks Dave, and very best wishes. Steve

I bought a 112 and a Helix Stomp earlier this week. My first Impression of the Headrush wasn’t favourable, as everything sounded boomy, and there was little top end response. However, last night I turned off the speaker modelling on the Helix patches I was using, and the tones were a lot closer to what I was expecting - when playing solo. However, when playing with the band there was no low end presence/ ‘heft’! is these something obvious I am missing, or is there a way of achieving a happy medium? I’m thinking that there must be as others seem very happy with this set up. Thanks.

It used to be 2, but now that I’m more minded towards 3, when it happens it tends to be 1. Does that help?

I am returning a faulty amp (Rumble 800 combo) to Thomann. Courier arranged for today. Turned up in a plain white van. Didn’t have the return label that Thomann said he would, couldn’t provide any type of receipt. “Sorry mate, I’m just standing in for the main driver”. Sent him on his way without the amp. Now expecting collection tomorrow. Glad I read this thread before he arrived. Thanks for all your contributions.

I had a very similar experience at a fan club event in 1989.

Fender Rumble 800 Combo (Not The Stage Version) Your Thoughts Please
Heathy replied to thebrig's topic in Amps and Cabs
Got one just before Christmas. Sounded great. However, took it to rehearsal last night and it packed up after 20 minutes. Fuming is an understatement. Back it goes! -
Actually played a short set at my wedding, and never gave it a second thought.

Scratching your initials into the front of your bass.......!

Those are my initials! Still not tempted though.
