1. I was there - amazing gig from my perspective (on the pitch). Sorry to hear that others' experiences weren't as good.
2. Here's my Thunder Jet, which has just had a 30 year makeover - KiOgon wiring, SPB1 pickup and Babicz bridge.
3. I bought one of these from Tom1946. It's fantastic and is now my main bass. Lovely grain on this one. GLWTS.
4. Once the singer in a band I was in paused between verses to take a drink. I noticed that his glass was considerably fuller when he put it down to continue with the song. A true pro.
5. I like it. Going to struggle to decide what t-shirt to buy at this summer's Foo Fighters gig.
6. Got my ticket! I really enjoy JS live. However, whereas some gigs leave me feeling like I want to watch it all again the next night (Slipknot and Muse spring to mind), I am content to leave seeing other artists for a year or so! Oh, and Mike Kineally is in the band! Last time I saw them together he won their guitar duel in Ice 9 hands down.
7.
Me and a mate saw THUNDER at the O2 London Brooklyn Bowl on 6th November and the bass seemed just right in the mix to my ears, it was a fantastic gig John
I second this - great gig - can't wait for Hammersmith in March. Anyway, as I always say - I don't mind if I'm not heard, just as long as I'm felt.
8. This works for me. Good job
9. Absolutely. For me their customer service has always been excellent.
10. If he gigs for a living, you can't really complain about him being quick off the mark in getting a replacement. Also, if you had already told him that you needed time off, was there anything else for him to tell? Anyway, all water under the bridge now. I would focus on what to do next. Have fun!
11. Sold an EBS Pedal to Ryan. Couldn't have been easier. Thanks Mate! Steve
12. Bass IQ sold. Price drop on OctaBass
13. John couldn't have been more helpful towards me, and the wiring kit was with me within a day of my initial enquiry. Superb! Many thanks
14. I am looking to sell the following two pedals. Both are in excellent condition and come pre-velcroed! - EBS Bass IQ; with box and manual; £70 posted - NOW SOLD - EBS OctaBass; with manual; £65 posted - NOW SOLD Picture below:
15. Nice replica bass - shame about the frets though...
16. I love this. My first bass was a Thunder Jet and I still have it in the loft! I feel a project coming on...
17. My favourite part is when he stands in front of the singer when he's singing the 'big note' at the end of the first number. Pure class.
18. I saw him at the Bass Centre in 91. Waited in the queue in front of Neil Murray! Both were great guys.
19. The Real Frank Zappa Book - Frank Zappa Scar Tissue - Anthony Kiedis
20. As annoying and lame as I found my Mo to be over the last fortnight, I can't let it go. I have taken it down to a Grade 1 and have declared the start of 'Beardcember' (or 'Decembeard' - take your pick). BTW - Congratulations! You've all done very well.
21. The final day! The results are not what I had hoped for, but raised a bit of dosh for a good cause. Here's a pic for my BC Mo Bros:
22. For sale is my chrome J-Retro 01 Jazz Bass preamp, which was bought new in 2011. It is in excellent condition and comes with installation instructions - photo below. Looking for £110 posted. Cheers
23. Dave was based in Wivenhoe, near Colchester and was a great bloke. He did a lot of work on one of my basses, recommended SWR amps to me and helped me source a Kubicki Ex Factor in the early 90s. I always wanted him to make a bass for me - wasn't to be though. Lost touch over the years - Not sure what he's up to now

24. I don't think that anyone has noticed mine yet!
25.
However the goal is usually to put your own personality into the parts, not someone else's.
Which it is possible to do (or not do) regardless of whether the song was written by the bloke standing next to you, or (say) Deep Purple. This is why I think that the ongoing covers vs originals debate is pointless.
