  1. The internet really is a double-edged sword. On one hand it's an amazing resource that I wish was available when I started playing. On the other hand, it's a massive distraction, and it is easy to become demotivated by players with amazing ability (ironically usually playing music that I don't like!) The 'jocks' and the 'nerds' already have sport and science. We mustn't let them have music as well.
  2. Enjoyed the first one, and just downloaded this. Looking forward to it.
  3. We play Josie and Peg. Both very enjoyable bass lines to play.
  4. Could you be over thinking this one? Before investing in new gear, see what the new ensemble sounds like together. Daniel Spriewald's tone may be completely wrong for it.
  5. I like this song. Very 'coverable' too. Coming soon to a pub band near you...!
  6. Lovely looking bass. That nitro finish is going to be the gift that keeps on giving! GLWTS!
  7. Enjoyed that. I'm sure we can all relate to some of those bad habits. Thanks for sharing.
  8. I have felt this way in the past, but at the moment I feel that too many gigs, or 'bad' gigs can suck up a lot of the energy that could otherwise be put towards productive practice/rehearsal towards better (albeit less frequent) gigs.
  9. I do like the look of these. Thanks for inducing a GAS attack.
  10. Have you ever tried an ice scraper? I'm off to get mine now.
  11. First concert - Meatloaf, Ipswich Gaumont 1985 Last concert - Sleep Token, Colchester Arts Centre Best concert - David Lee Roth 1988 / Bowie 1990. Any time I have seen Queens of the Stone Age or Ghost. Worst concert - Agent Steel, Hammersmith 87? (won the tickets so no worries) Loudest concert - The Prodigy, Brixton Academy 1997 Seen the most - Thunder / Dweezil Zappa Most surprising - Black Lace Next concert - Ozzy (fingers crossed) Wish I would have seen - Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix
  12. Excellent all round. Really enjoyed that.
  13. We've never met, have we.
  14. Garage storage works for me. Off the ground and well covered.
  15. I always went for option one, mainly because this makes the outro more impactive. I recall that Elbow's bass player plays a keyboard on this one live.
  16. Fixed
  17. This is what I thought of when I saw the post title. Turns out that it's 2018 though.
  18. I liked the MTD Super 5 and the Warwick. It also struck me how much the Yamaha Attitude still sounded like Billy Sheehan with Scott playing it.
  19. Mrs H did exceptionally well. I got a EHX Freeze pedal, a Levys strap, the Flea and Tony Iommi autobiographies, and a book by Zappa's former housekeeper. Most other gifts were either grooming or gin related.
  20. Still waiting for Maiden to play the Olympic Stadium... a 40th celebration of the first album there would have been perfect.
  21. Great! I've got some strap buttons with no bass attached. I'm off!
  22. What's that thing on the pickguard above the neck pickup. Is it a removable thumb rest?
  23. Me too. And they were great live. I was sat directly behind JPJ at the Albert Hall when he was playing the keyboards. He plays better bass with his feet than many do with their hands! Can anyone think of any 'supergroups' who exceeded expectations though?
