  1. I always find these to have a very narrow body and fit most phone sockets when the phone is in a case https://www.amazon.co.uk/UGREEN-Headphone-Extension-Earphone-Smartphone-Black/dp/B00LM4ON2E/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=3.5mm+jack+extension+cable&qid=1579640309&sprefix=3.5mm+jack+&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFZODFFR0M3R0pKVjImZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTEwMzQzOTdDTVVMMFpNRTRCSkomZW5jcnlwdGVkQWRJZD1BMDcyMTE0NzJBVjZZSTY5NlVZOVomd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
  2. As the owner of a pest control business I should probably point out that we have never seen so many field mice as we have this year. We have been inundated with calls from people who are finding mice in garages, lofts, outbuildings etc. I'd be wary about keeping expensive gear anywhere where mice can get to it. They do love a good chew.
  3. I have to say that the DR neons sound good and certainly not dead at all. Not super bright (much like elixirs) but definitely like new strings.
  4. Is the phone set up to have a stereo output or is it mono? Worth checking the settings?
  5. I've got DR neons on one of my regular gigging basses and I really like them. I have High Beams on the rest. I moved to DR after Elixirs but as I liked the sound of the Elixirs I'm tempted to try them again. I also like the idea of a non neon or black coating.
  6. That was my concern. I had some a few years back and they shed the coating but maybe it's worth me trying them again. I always really liked the tone and feel.
  7. How do they fair if you use a pick?
  8. Whoever is running the shop in Mark's absence has probably linked every amp and cab in the shop together and is doing a Marty McFly so can't hear the phone.
  9. Haha, I converted my shed into a recording studio. My wife never ventures down the garden so I've been able to slowly fill it with kit. She can't understand why I was so keen to have the shed included on the burglar alarm system.
  10. Another vote for OBBM. Top quality, great service and a BCer.
  11. Never tried one but I really rate Fusion gig bags as the best I've ever used. Even prefer them to my old mono gig bag and their customer service is amazing. British too.
  12. Well this is depressing.
  13. Yes I agree, you have every right to feel the way you do. Like many others here, my dealings with Tommy have all been excellent and he comes across as a really good guy. However, business will need to be looked at at some point and really he needs to at least put people in the picture. Hope you get a resolution soon.
  14. What's it for? Many drivers have a good full range potential but it completely depends on what box they're going into. The box and driver need to be paired properly and in most instances the driver coupled with what you need the finished product to do will dictate the box design.
  15. In fairness to barefaced the value of a crossover is in its design rather than the cost of parts. I know the chap who owns hifi speaker brand proac (originally celef audio) and he pins the success of his business purely on the ability to design a good crossover. Yeah the components are top quality but the cost of them is still nowhere near the £26k you need for a pair of his K8 flagship floorstanders.
  16. Note to self. Get impressions done when at lowest weight next time lol.
  17. Anyone find that the quality of fit from custom moulds changes with bodyweight changes? I do a lot of training for various things (triathlon / marathons etc) and have two sets of custom moulds. Both impressions were taken by Paul at CIEM co. The first were done 4 years ago when I had a year off due to injury so I was carrying more weight the second were done just over a year ago (EBS_FREAK was present) during a training year. If I'm carrying less weight only the second set gives good isolation but if I'm carrying more weight (like I was over Christmas due to festivities and limited training due to baby arrival) both sets work well. I never thought that small fluctuations in body weight (no more than about 6kg either way) could make a difference.
  18. I had an absolute nightmare with a hartke kilo which I documented on here a few years back when Samson/ korg were doing distribution and repairs. I contacted Larry Hartke direct but he didn't want to know. It turns out Hartke knew that the Kilo had a design fault and didn't want to do the right thing. The repairs done by the Samson damaged the amp further but they were almost impossible to deal with. Ultimately they took £800 off me and left me with a useless piece of junk. I would absolutely 100% advise against buying anything from Hartke. Larry Hartke claims to be mr approachable but in reality it's just for show.
  19. In 25yrs of gigging I don't think I've ever used the mute on an amp. Isn't that what tuning pedals are for?
  20. It is bloody expensive for that. The crossover is a little bit more complicated because it only runs one driver full range with the other having a low pass filter but even so theres no way it justifies a £100 price tag.
  21. Its always been the only real weakness of their amps for me. It looks naff imo and I always find it hypersensitive. Much prefer a simple led clip light.
  22. £500 Absolutely brilliant little cab bought new in summer of 2019 and in immaculate condition. Super light with fat warm tones and a nice little mid hump that gives a vintage tone that sits really well in the mix. I use in ear monitoring so this was literally only used once for an acoustic gig. 4 / 12 ohm switch so you can add extra cabs or use it as a stand alone. Absolutely no tolex peel as this is one of the newer cabs made after Barefaced had solved the glue issues they had on previous cabs. Comes with thick padded hot covers cover that was custom made for this cab. Any trial welcome here in south northants. Price is firm as new cost, including cover, is £719 and this one is mint. Prefer not to ship and will only do so if buyer arranges courier.
  23. Nope, I run a small pest control business too. The fact that I'm self employed and that I keep my day job super simple means that I can balance the two. The only issue for me is that the summer is the busiest time of year for both the band and the pest control business. I also have two children (5yr old and 3wk old).
  24. +1 The most annoying thing for me is all the motorway closures in the early hours that lead to huge detours. Getting home before sunrise in the summer feels like quite an achievement sometimes.
