1. Lets have a "tv just died and the in-laws are coming for christmas so tv needs replacing or else I'll have to talk to them" type bump.
2. Almost forgot I had this type bump.
3. The sale of this never happened as the barefaced FR800s I was replacing it with were delayed due to the 12 inch drivers being out of stock. I had to hold on to it until the FR800s arrived. They're here now so this is again up for sale. Big Jim I've pm'd you but not heard back so up it goes.
4. New bass now ordered. Fully insured postage included.
5. Would you PM me some info about your business? It sounds like possibly it might be worth me having a more serious chat with you. Cheers
6. That's something we really haven't ever done so I'll look into it today. Much appreciated.
7. Can anyone recommend agents that they have worked with for wedding / function gigs. One of my bands has tried Alive Network and a few of the bigger agents but so far we haven't managed to get on their books so looking for some possible alternative places to apply. We have basic diy promo videos etc and are happy to invest in professional productions but it's tricky as we've found many of the agents don't want branded media. Do we make an unbranded video that costs a lot but isn't much use elsewhere? When we play gigs we tend to pick up more work but things are thinning out and we could do with a bit of support on the booking front. Any advice or suggestions welcome.
8. Has anyone else's feedback gone missing. I had a decent amount but now I only have a thread with a single post on it. I'd really like to find my original thread as I'm selling a few bits at the moment and it would help to have my feedback available for potential buyers to see.
9. I'll give this a bump. Not in any desperate rush to sell but will listen to sensible offers.
10. I have a pair of RCF ART 322a active speakers for sale. Fabulous sound quality (much nicer than the 312s thanks to the 2inch hf voice coil) and plenty loud enough for solos, duos or bands. They've seen plenty of gigs so there's a fair few surface scratches (mostly from taking them in and out of the covers) and the pots are a little crackly when adjusting. Other than that they are working perfectly. £500 for the pair including slightly tatty but functional covers (zips on back panel don't close but panels tuck in nicely) collected from South Northamptonshire. Trial more than welcome.
11. It's because "plays like cabbage" doesn't sound as good.
12. Can't post as I don't have a box.
13. They're passively cooled. The plate amp is one of these https://www.hypex.nl/product/psc2-400d/67 so it's top quality. I haven't run a guitar through them but I have used them as pa tops and the clarity is incredible. Essentially they're like really powerful studio reference monitors. I have no doubt at all that they'll be excellent for guitar if used with helix / kemper etc etc.
14. Now £850 Absolutely gorgeous and super light bass. Only selling as I really need a passive jazz so will be using proceeds to fund another Maruszczyk order. Weighs 3.48kg (7lb 7oz) so super light and comfortable. Alder body with flamed maple top and matt finish. Maple neck with matt finish and maple fingerboard. Bassculture pickups with active 3 band delano preamp. Three way toggle switch for the humbucker (series / single coil / parallel). Passive with tone control with push pull active / passive volume pot. Monorail bridge with 18mm string spacing. Build completion date 04-01-2017. One small mark on the rear of the body (pictured) and a tiny scratch on the top of the body which looks like a hair (pictured) otherwise as new condition. can be heard being played badly here Will consider trades with nice yamaha BB basses (4 or 5 string).
15.
Dr Dave - I completely lost my voice for eight months last year after struggling with if for some time prior to that. A friend suggested giving up dairy and it worked within 2 weeks. No trouble since. Worth a try....
That's awesome. I'm gonna get my wife a cheese hamper for Christmas.
16.
That is a shame. Larry Hartke is a stand-up guy and easily reachable online. He even had his phone number on a series of Hartke adverts that ran in American magazines a few years ago, inviting players to ring him direct if they needed any assistance.
You say that but I tried absolutely everything to get hold of him about my Kilo and he didn't respond to any attempt. He and Hartke knew they had put out a product with serious flaws and they actively chose not to deal with it. Absolute scumbags. They owe me £849 to this day after I ultimately had to bin the head.
17. Finally, after a two month wait my two new BF FR800s arrived yesterday. Annoyingly they need powercon connectors so had to get some today before I could turn them on. Wow, now my helix makes even more sense. The BF cabs are so clean that you really hear what the helix can do. Give me a week or two and I'll let you know how I'm getting on. I already know that my DB750 is going to be heading to a new home after just a couple of hours with the new rig.
18.
The product has been discontinued and it doesn't look like they use the same speaker in their other stuff (it's one of those whizzer cone things).
Would they give you the specs of the driver? They may even be able to point you in the direction of a suitable replacement. This is all pointless though if the reason for the driver farting out is that either the driver or the combination of driver and cab can't physically give you the lows you want.
19.
I used to clip a 2kW power amp fairly often when slapping if I didn't use any compression.
Maybe the answer is a decent compressor?
20. Can't quite imagine how loud your stage must be if 2 x BB2's and a decent 500w amp aren't giving you enough just for monitoring.
21.
However can I recommend exercise as one of the few things you can do yourself to help out.
Couldn't agree more. YouTube is full of channels where you can follow interval training workouts. Everything from gentle beginner workouts up to intense fat burners. Most can be done in minimal space (front room, spare bedroom, office etc) and require no equipment. A 15 - 25 minute workout is all you need. I do approx 20 mins after work daily and just eat less carbs through the day. After the workout I just eat a normal meal (spaghetti bolognese this evening, a roast dinner on Sunday etc etc). I'm fitter and leaner now than I was at 18. Pretty much niggle / injury free now too.
