1. I have a Japanese 75 JAZZ and it is so so good. Tempted to buy this just for that neck.
2. Very nice indeed. Just be aware that there's a 36hr bumping rule on the forum though. Good luck with the sale.
3. £800 collected or £820 delivered while something on here has me gassing.
4. Thanks gents, I'll make a call to both tomorrow and see what they can do. Much appreciated.
5. Most excellent to hear. Sounds like a great way to get your playing fix without the hassle.
6. Our T-bar type led lights fell over whilst packing down last night and have stopped working. Closer inspection shows that the transformer on the power in board has cracked (it's the heaviest component so that's probably why it tore itself apart). I approached a local electrical repair company and they have said they don't work on that type of equipment and don't know anyone who does. Does anyone on here, particularly those in Oxon / Northants / bucks area, know of anyone who might be able to do it. Ideally I don't want to scrap a £350 set of lights for the sake of a transformer.
7. All great amps and all more than capable of delivering the volume you'll need. I'd simply suggest taking your cab along to a few shops and try as many of them as you can find. I've tried the GK MB200 and it does the GK thing really well but wasn't my cup of tea. With that said I do like plenty of bottom end and a warm sound so it may suit your needs much better. Volume won't be an issue though.
8. I'm a rat catcher by day and bass player several nights a week. I went self employed last May in order to allow myself the flexibility to take lots of gigs and be able to finish early on the days when the gigs are a long way away. Currently working with two function bands. My original trade was as a cabinet maker but have also been involved in pest control for years. It's far easier to make good money pest controlling and maintain the flexibility I need to be a working bass player. My income is currently about a 60/40 split between the two trades.
9. Does Spotify run one song into another? We have used traktor dj before and just set it on auto. The mixing is pants that way though so on occasion I've recorded a mix myself and played it back on the night. I'm too busy talking crap with the band to get up and dj live these days lol.
10. Had some really good trade offers but really only after a stingray or sterling with the single humbucker. Or cash. Cash is always good. I like cash.
11. Delivery now included and price at £850 whilst there's something on here that really takes my fancy.
12. I was hankering for a Maruszchyk but the current exchange rate has buggered that one. I still believe it's worth the current price but it just kills me that effectively it's gone up by £100
13.
Thanks Mykesbass - I think this could be very interesting as I know of Band Scrims but mine will be easily fixable & removable plus you can upload your own artwork online once I get the website up-n-running. Here's a pic of what I'm currently testing - excuse the in-yer-face graphics but the object was to make it stand out
That's really cool. I'm pretty sure you'll do very well with it. Best of luck.
14.
The band are doing the FB thing as much as possible, but this is a few miles from home and short of laying on a coach it's unlikely anyone other than close friends and family will turn out.
Why not advertise it on here. You never know, it may produce a few more faces.
15. Man I hate this kind of gigging. Are you originals or covers? I could understand wanting an originals band to generate some punters but if its a genuine music venue with regular punters then a covers band is there to entertain the landlord's customers. Yeah the band should be promoting their gig too but the venue needs to do his bit. It's also unfair to judge a band on turnout when it's a short notice booking. Is it really so hard to get gigs in London that you need to play for free?
16. There's a maruzyczk popped up in the classifieds today. It's 3kg 33" scale. It's £600 but worth a look maybe.
17.
My first thought is why does everyone play rock?! I've noticed while looking for band members for my current project that 90% of musicians seems to put down "classic rock" as one of their chief styles/interests. It's prevalent. Prevalent I tell ya!
As soon as I see 'classic rock' I switch off. Doesn't matter if it's an ad for a bass player or a poster advertising a local band. I'm so bored of seeing bands that do that stuff because there's just so many of them churning out the same stuff.
18.
Hell of a rig!! Cant imagine you ever actually need two of those cabs. Especially if you are going through the PA too
Yeah they came as a pair but rarely use both.
