1. Great fun wedding in Oxfordshire. Little audio medley recorded from the night below. For those who look down upon covers bands, don't even bother listening lol - stereotypical covers band content - 1st two songs alone will make you sick!! 2. Played a wedding at Bicester Garrison officers mess last night. The groom and his father were both in the forces and we were booked on recommendation. We have also played in Cyprus for the RAF Christmas bash twice after the chap in charge of ents saw us at a wedding. As has been mentioned before, the person who books ents changes often and therefore it's usually a one off if you get booked. We were told that they prefer non rock bands mostly as squaddies get feisty quite easily so party bands with good humour are often picked.
3. This thread has (to me) some of the coolest basses I've seen on this forum. Clarky72 that looks killer. I love Mark's work and that looks like is should be awesome.
4. Played with a stingray at a wedding last night and it reminded me of what an idiot I was to sell my old one. Sounded great with all the authority and punch you could ever wish for. Drummer was loving the growly funky Stingrayness of it. Yes you need one.
5. Aguilar Db750 and 2 x TKS 1126. Job done.
6. The super compact has a usable frequency range up to 4khz. I'd be surprised if you couldn't dial in the top end you are looking for with a decent eq.
7. I opted for the behringer x-air over the Mackie because Mackie has a history of not offering driver updates on its products. As operating systems move on the Mackie gear can become defunkt. I owned an onyx 1640i which I had to ditch when I brought a new PC and they didn't offer a driver update to make it compatible with Windows 8. When I asked them for help their only advice was to fork out £1100 on a new version of the same mixer.
8.
I wonder if any of them are compatible...?
You'll only know if you can find the tech spec of the original driver I'm afraid. Can the original driver be repaired?
9.
Oft said but- you're only as good as your drummer.
End of discussion for me. This is the bottom line.
10. Personally I don't get to go out much on a Saturday because I'm gigging but when I do get the chance i always try to watch live music. The problem for me is that a night out is very expensive these days so if I'm going out I'm going to spend a little extra and buy tickets for either a show or a gig that I really want to see. I can't justify spending £50+ for a night out watching originals bands on the off chance i might like them. If beer was still £2 a pint and entry was free then I'd definitely take a punt on a few bands I know nothing about but it's just not like that anymore.
11. Just talk to him. He may just be enthusiastic about playing with you and think that this project is what you want. At the end of the day if you're honest with him and don't just ditch him he'll most likely be cool with it and you may find another more mutually beneficial direction.
12. I believe that there are two Vanderkley 410lnt cab's also for sale with this. I'm pretty sure Timweather will be along shortly to confirm. It may be worth sending him a pm. He's near me in South Northamptonshire so only about an hour from Birmingham.
13. Paul just bought my Spector and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Great comms, quick payment and he's clearly a very organised buyer. Would buy or sell with him anytime without any reservations.
14. Just bought Tom's Stingray from him. Absolute pleasure to deal with all the way through and im absolutely stoked with my new ray.
15. Thanks Lee, agreed it is awesome and beautifully built. The good news is that it is now on hold!
16. I have a Japanese 75 JAZZ and it is so so good. Tempted to buy this just for that neck.
17. Ooh, I like that a lot.
18. Very nice indeed. Just be aware that there's a 36hr bumping rule on the forum though. Good luck with the sale.
19. £800 collected or £820 delivered while something on here has me gassing.
20. Thanks gents, I'll make a call to both tomorrow and see what they can do. Much appreciated.
