This is the bit I don't like... '● We also monitor the noise from a number of other locations outside the marquee on an hourly basis to determine if the level of noise is too much (ie. is traveling to our neighbours). While using the decibel monitor is useful some music or vocals travel more than others so please bear with us if we ask you to turn down certain aspects.' Bass frequencies travel. There's nothing you we can do about that. This means that 200m from the venue, all you can probably hear is bass. If you turn down only the bass, in reaction to this, then within the performance area the band mix will be altered and the bass will probably just disappear. What needs to happen, in these circumstances, is that the whole band needs to turn down, not just the bass. Then the band mix in the venue may be quieter but at least it will be balanced.

^^^ Yup, this is back to what I said about this stuff needing professional input. Had a pub once where the music levels were set inside the main music bar, not outside where the neighbours were - madness - but this is what happens when the local authority thinks they know what they are doing..........
This is entirely the case here. The venue is a farm and theyve only done weddings for a few years. They've clearly had a noise complaint and gone to someone claiming to be an "acoustic specialist" who has simply sold them some expensive gear and filled their heads with guff. End result is a venue that basically isn't fit for purpose now.

This will be my scaled down rig for it I'll use the lid of my pedal board to tilt it back so I can hear better without cranking like in the pic. Should do the trick

I used to have two AE112's with a TC Classic head. Although I was pretty underwhelmed with the TC head it certainly wasn't wooly. I'd be inclined to say that any of the above suggestions would yield good results and that in particular the tecamp suggestion would be great. The thunderfunks are sublime if you're not looking for a micro head.
I use http://www.karaoke-version.co.uk/ Not sure if it is exactly what you are after. They are decent covers, when you buy a track you can download it as much as you want and can keep or leave out any of the instruments each time.
We use these too. On some tracks we import the individual tracks into a DAW and add a little eq /reverb etc here and there to really bring them to life. That said they're definitely pretty good straight out of the box.

It always happens when funds are low ...

Defo keep it. It's a beautiful amp and the 2nd hand market is terrible right now. -
Hear hear (you see what I did there?) ACS are indeed most excellent and I wouldn't leave home without mine. Not cheap but more than worth the money if it protects the most valuable sense a musician has.

I can also get very close to the Zender sound on my spector without the need for any dirt. Roll the pickup blend so there's more bridge pickup than neck and then boost the bass by about 30%. New strings and compression really help too.
If purchased will you use the £75 to buy or do something nice for your wife?
I'm pretty sure she'd love an Electro Harmonix Soul Food so I'll probably get her one of those
My wife would never buy me bass gear in a million years
I think mine is after something. I fear this may all be a trap.

As new in box with all the original cables etc. Absolutely brilliant compressor and ridiculously versatile. My wife bought me one for my birthday and I don't have the heart to tell her I already have one because I'm not doing anything to discourage her buying me bass gear. £75 delivered to your door!

I'm using flats on my Jazz bass right now. I haven't changed my amp eq at all (totally flat) but if I occasionally will boost treble on the guitar (East J retro pre) if I want to add a little clank but that's only on the very rare occasion that we play something semi rock like.
I think it will be ok with one big screen and other members with phones???
Yep just make sure they all know to change their own monitor feed and not foh because on a small screen it can be hard to tell the difference.

If they practice once a week and gig once a month. For me there has to be about 4 gigs to every one rehearsal at the most.

Thanks everyone, all great advice. Its a venue that's been doing weddings for two years. The whole thing is in a marquee and the site is actually a working farm. The Pa is new though and as a result of a noise complaint from the only neighbour just over half a mile away. It seems they had a dj earlier this year who was a bit of a tool and just wouldn't turn down. We are actually going to be the first band to play there following them getting the Pa installed this week. I totally understand the noise issue and would be devastated if we caused them a noise complaint. My main concern is that the farmer running the venue knows nothing about good live sound and the bride , groom and band were only informed yesterday of the new rules. I'm going to go in ears for the night and the rest in the band will sort themselves out monitor wise. Luckily we have a behringer x-air 18 so there's six aux outs and each member can do their own mix from phones. That way I don't have to worry about doing a monitor mix for everyone. We have explained everything to the bride and groom and they are taking up any complaints with the venue. Im sure we'll be fine as all the band are pros except me and the singer so they'll all cope.
I prefer to use my big Samsung tablet to my phone, Apple looks different to Android and laptop is different again with LOADS of extra features.
+1 it's better to work with on a bigger screen. We use a fairly cheap android tablet which works fine. Doesn't need to be too fancy as all the processing is happening inside the xr not in the tablet.

Poor drummer.
