1. I wish I'd never picked up a 5. I love my 4 but now I have to take both to a gig because, as a result of me getting the 5er we now do some tunes that need a low B string. Life was simpler before I had a 5. We just didn't do songs that really really needed the extra low range.
2. Honestly........I like it. Good mix. Make it happen.
3. I've got a couple expensive basses but nothing comes within a country mile of the two £120 yamaha bbG5's I have.
4.
NO NO NO NO NO NO. Buy ANOTHER big Berg as well! DO IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT for all of us
I'd need a bigger van for more bergs
5. Got two of these and they are ridiculously good for the money. So growly with a great b string. Good luck with the sale.
6. Anyone looking for a 1st five string should consider this yamaha. They're great sounding and playing basses for a ridiculously low price.
7. Hi All, I am a franchised builder for BFM. I can certainly build / quote but at the moment I'm back and forwards a bit with my regular work. I'm a cabinet maker but the company I work for have me designing / building / fitting interiors for temporary buildings we're constructing in Greece. I'm out of the UK fairly regularly and will be until July and I already have a couple of guitar cabs part done that I'm struggling to finish. Beyond that I'll be building to order again as I have a feeling there will be plenty of slack with my employers after this contract ends. I'm itching to get back on the BFM building because I have a lot of faith in Bill's designs and I have a stupidly big shiny new workshop to spread out in after I moved recently. Most of my builds have been PA based gear but I've done a couple of Jacks and they're pretty straightforward. Sorry I can't be a help in the short term. I'm still available to help with build queries as I'm still on line when I'm away.

Feedback for sk8

Just bought a Berg NV412 from Mike. Awesome cab at a great price and really nice chap too. Would buy with confidence from mr SK8 again.
10. You are most welcome. A big thanks to SK8 for the cab but not for fueling my gas further when I went to collect it.
11. Thanks Chris, I've seen something I really want hence price.
12. **SOLD** Thanks for all the interest. I have a Bergantino AE212 in great condition for sale. Comes with padded cover. I'm selling it as there's a cab on here I want so if it goes I'll have to withdraw. I'm asking for £500 or a trade for a 4x12 or 6x10 cab of equal quality with cash your way. Trying to get pics up but doing that on this site seems to have become a mystical skill. I can easily email pics to anyone interested. I'm based in Bicester (J9 M40) in Oxfordshire.
13. More Than Words by Extreme, Half The World Away by Oasis, Delilah by Plain White Tees, A Team by Ed Sheeran. I can play the bass part in those as well as the original recordings so they're my choice.
14. Would you consider a trade? I have a berg AE212 and could put cash your way. Just thought I'd offer as you want to go lighter.
15.
Totally agree, I just don't fancy spending 4 quid cos' the singer wants to have a go at Hysteria a semi tone down even though we've told him the problems with that. And yes I know I could take another bass detuned for that one song but then I'd have to download everything illegally to pay for my other bass.
I don't like paying for the fuel to do a trip to the in laws just cos my wife wants to go but I wouldn't steal it.
16. Photo and info added to mine and band's FB and shared by Geordie wife. Hope you get this back.
17. I'm pretty black and white on this one. Want a peice of music - Pay for it. Want a piece of music so you can learn it - Pay for it. Whether you agree with the way the system works or not is irrelevant. If you want people to keep making music - Pay for it. It's not just musicians who suffer. Sound engineers, producers and loads of others are getting royally screwed by the illegal download market. Some of these people are essential in making sure music is produced to the highest standards. If you argue that the standard of any part of the industry isn't high enough these days and you download illegally you need to ask why corners are now being cut.
18. Just be cautious taking advice from a shop as there's always an ulterior motive. That said my experience with Soundlive has always been very positive so they're worth a look. Not sure how swiftly you need to buy but if it were me I'd hold out for something used to show up. If anyone won't let youhear them first then walk away.
19. I had a AH400 GP12SMX and sold it. MASSIVE MISTAKE. I would have it back in a heartbeat. Beautiful head and super versatile.
20. Every time I hear bands using the Mackie's the sound seems incredibly harsh. Either I've never come across a band that can eq properly, or there's an issue with the Mackies. As mentioned by Warwickhunt the Wharfedale Titans are a decent buy for the money. I think the Martin stuff is OK but wildly overpriced when new although JTUK's link seemed like a reasonable price. I know you're reluctant to buy used but with your budget I think used will give you something that sounds great. Anything new at that budget will be pretty low end.
21. Yamaha BBG5. I have two and both are great. Lovely lovely sound and really nice to play. Simple and nice looking. You could get a used one for half your budget on here.
22. Any interest in a TC classic 450 with £150 your way? Can collect and deliver.
