  1. More like a studio amp. If CTM300 and CTM100 is too loud to get the valve tone you want, then people will go for LB30.

If LB30 is too loud for studio use then the CTM15 will defo work in the story.

  2. I was still thinking or consider getting rid of my Fender classic 60 jazz bass since I'm using my P/J bass these days.

Decided to bring the Fender Jazz to practice last night and it gave me a lot to think about now.

Our band cover mainly 80's new wave pop rock type of song but start adding a collection of 80's dance disco funk type of music and the jazz bass does the job really well.

I never really liked the sound of the bridge pickup but I kinda liked it now.

Tone all the way down, bridge pickup full and neck pickup 50%. Was using the practice room trace elliot 15" combo and I bump the low mid up a little and the jazz bass is snapped happy.

It sounded really punchy and snappy. I really liked how it is played and sound. If I needed more low end for other songs I just turn the neck to full and back off the bridge pickup a little.

Might want to keep this bass at the end now :)

Consider I own and played this bass for the last 10 years.

  3. You can use any cab on the head ..... That drophead is like a combo but the head is flip top, this means you can flip it the otherway to store.

I play my ashdown lb30 via a old trace elliot 15" cab ....

  4. I haven't use my pedal board for a long time but decided to play around with it last time to work on some sound for the songs we will cover.

I plugged everything in and fire the amp and pedal up but the sound I'm getting is crackling distorted sound. I thought is bad cable, so I try put the bass into the amp directly and no crackle, then I've tried each individual pedal and no crackle. Then I've slowly try linking each pedal one at a time and see if the crackle occurs. End up putting everything back together using the same patch lead and instrument cable and the crackle is gone.

No idea why it was doing it at start.

  5. I haven't use my lb30 for a long time cause I only gig with venue gear or straight to the pa with my mxr m80. Decided to plug the lb30 and practice at home. First I would like to say the bass, mid and treble switch position is weird because up position mean engage and down means off. Logically it should be the other way round.

In terms of extreme EQ position, you are right it sounded pretty decent with weird EQ position. I think is to do with the passive tone stack kind of thing. i.e mid all the way up and treble all the way down etc.
