1. For sale is a set of Rotosound flatwounds. The gauge for these are 45-105. I've only use them a few times and for home practice use, decided the strings is not my taste. For reference I've strung these on a Westone fretless bass where the peg is 2 on the right and 2 on the left and one a fender p bass as well where the peg is 4 on the left. Unfortunately I don't have the original package anymore, so I put them in a fender package. I will sell these for £15 (not inc post) either BT or paypal.
2. For sale is a set of Rotosound Tru bass black nylon strings. I've only use them a few times and for home practice use. I decided to go back to rounds on my fretless, so these strings are technically quite new. For reference I've strung these on a Westone fretless bass where the peg is 2 on the right and 2 on the left. I will sell these for £18 (not inc post) either BT or paypal.
3. For sale is the P bass pickup taking out from my p bass long time ago when I upgrade them to seymour duncans. I don't know what brand they are because the p bass i purchase had already got a fender decal on, so I can't tell what bass these pickup comes from. My gut guess would be from a standard Squier. I take £10 (not inc post) either BT or paypal.
4. I sold my spare amp (trace gp11) lying around since i don't use it and is heavy and I need a smaller amp for practice and smaller gig etc. I ended up and got a Redsub BE100 used. Is a 100watt, 10" speaker with 6 band EQ and boost, contour and presence control. The size and weight on this amp reminds me of my old ampeg ba25. The sound is amazing for a combo this size and the volume is loud for a 10 inch speaker. Looks like i might use this as a small monitor on stage since it have line out.
5. Bought a few things from them in the past and one of the item was a cheap electro acoustic. All package well, no damage and fast delivery. I would buy from them again.
6. I don't have cash to buy anything. Just seeing whether it works or not because the GP11 was purchase as a backup head if needed.
7. I have both the Ashdown LB30 and a Trace Elliot GP11 bass amp. 1 is a all valve amp and one is solid state. See the link below for my Trace amp: http://basschat.co.u...-gp11-bass-amp/ Do i use the effect jack (only got 1 effectr jack) on the trace amp and connect to the LB30 input to do that? or I use the trace DI out to a DI box and use jack line out from the DI box to the input on the LB30? The trace is a solid state so it can run without a cab i take it?
8. Since you mention about Trace Elliot. They are mega loud. 150watt Trace power is probably louder then most 300-500watt modern amps. I won't turn down trace elliot if you want cheap, loud and reliable.
9. Was wondering have anyone played one of these live and how does it keep up on high volume? Saw one for sale for £150 second hand in a store and they willing to accept my trace elliot gp11 and trace elliot 1153 cab as part of the trade. Worth doing it or not? I'm fully capable of luring the 1153 cab because is not too big or heavy. Running my Ashdown LB30 with the Trace cab atm and it sounded awesome.
10. £130 for this? anyone?
11. I don't really know about the power amp detail, Roland told me is some kind of DIY power amp but is very heavy duty and reliable. Thats why he believed it maybe a pre-production from Trace Elliot back in the days. Like i said the power amp and the pre amp is completely separate, so if you know what you doing you can convert it back into preamp only or swap out the power amp. The tone on this preamp is defo one of the best trace elliot preamp i've played. The 11 band EQ is different then the modern one I've played.
12. I'm also interest on a decent practice combo for home use.
13. For sale is my Trace Elliot GP11 bass amp. This is one of the very old original trace elliot amp. It features a 11 band EQ. This amp had been fully service last year by Roland from the Amp Clinic. Altho the amp is in a single enclosure but the preamp and the power amp section is seperate, thats why their is a power switch on the front and back. The power amp section is not original but the trace elliot preamp is 100% original. Roland thinks is some kind of pre-production from Trace Elliot back in the days. The power on this amp is rated at 200watt and is loud. If you know what you doing on this you can either change the power amp or just use this as a preamp. I will sell this for £150 cash or trade (in terms of trade, interest in another trace 15" or a smaller head). I based in Manchester and prefer to be collection only due to the weight on the amp.
14. I'm still trying hard to practice the use of ebow lol. Is hit and miss for me at the moment. I maybe pointing the ebow abit too close to the string.
15. The graphic preset is like a mid scoop with bass and treble boosted. Indeed it sound rubbish but I think is sound aweson when doing slap stuff.
16. My P bass was a fender with a P neck along with the fender logo. I swapped the p neck with a jazz glossy maple neck and it doesn't even have a logo. I proud with that lol.
17. How much for the cab only?
18. I find the ebow works better on my D and G strings. Maybe I should focus on using it on a single string like the G strings and use that effectively.
19. Is a very tough one in terms of string choice. I only got 1 fretless and i need a double bass sound on certain songs which the black nylon strings help and i sometimes need more mwah but i guess i need rounds for that .......
20. I've got a ebow today from a bc member. I find it hard to get the ebow effect. Sometimes it works and sometimes i struggle to get a sound. I'm sure is my technique problem. I like to use it on my fretless but does the ebow works on black nylon strings?
21. I personally think the foam won't effect that much in terms of value ...... don't they like to take the foam off back in the old days anyway? I personally think if the bass and electronic and hardware is all original then thats all it matters. Foam is like strings it will come and go .......
22. If it have a DI out, maybe you can add some of the bass to the desk to get more reinforce sound.
23. Is all fix now. Just a small adjustment on the nut and i lower the action as well. play nicely now. Just trying to get more mwah tone
24. I went and bought a set of needle files in B&Q and it fix the problem. My fretless sounded great with the black nylon strings, nice double bass sound. Is normal to get less mwah sound with nylon strings? My sustain is good but not much mwah. I'm getting a ebow to play around on a fretless.
25. i see what you mean, i may give this a try because i do have some old rounds not being use.
