1.
The Bongo has its' own unique neck profile.
It certainly unique enough for me to like it lol. Only down side on that Bongo i don't like is the 2x 9v battery lol.
2. I use to own a Stingray and now a Bongo. The bongo feels like it have a slimmer neck compare to Stingray.
3. It never really bother as long as it sound right and the bass line is correct. Sting will always sound like sting and I will always sound like me, but at least i give it a shot to see how it goes. If things doesn't work out like I'm suck on using a pick then the band just have to except me playing with fingers ..... lol
4. Thanks Bakerster135. That isolated track definite help. I will try a pick and chorus pedal to see how it goes. I just have to go back to the band saying nothing much more i can do because i don't have a fretless bass.
5. The only thing different is I don't play with the pick so the attack would be different. I play with fingerstyle so it gives a softer warm tone. Maybe I should try using a pick for this song.
6. I was wondering whether is chorus or fretless. Sounds like fretless to me because of the sound of the slide notes. The best i can get is chorus effect, I don't have a fretless so nothing I can do about that.
7. My band recently starting to cover this song as part of our set, I can play the bass line spot on without a problem but the drummer says my tone is not exactly the same as Sting's tone. To start off I use a P/J bass so that shouldn't be a problem, I think the bass have chorus effect but not 100% sure. I do have a EBS uni chorus pedal so if is chorus effect i can work something out to get the tone for the song.

To start off I use a P/J bass so that shouldn't be a problem, I think the bass have chorus effect but not 100% sure and it also sounds like a fretless as well ...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbXWrmQW-OE
9. Do Zoom B3 have aux in? I don't rememeber seeing it, i maybe wrong.
10. I've never had a problem with Ashdown products. They never die or blow up on me, I'm using a LB30 valve head now and looking to grab their VS cab to go along. Ashdown amp sounds better with ashdown cab in my ears.
11. I haven't play one to tell you the experience. Should say I haven't play any modern fender stuff. Only experience on P and J bass. Can't go wrong with dual humbuckers but remember it does not sound the same as a musicman bass. Musicman will always sound like musicman .....
12. I must resist this. Why won't anyone grab this, is a lovely bass.
13. Have you try change a new battery? I heard you mention the word active.
14. I think that Musicman SUB what the poster referring to is not the Musicman SUB made in USA. Is Musicman Sub Series bass.
15. Budget?
16. I'm interest on the Ashdown interface thing.
17. I use Seymour Duncan QP3 and JB3 on my P/J bass. The bass i play most for gigs.
18. I'm not too fuzz about where it the amp/cab is made, whether is far east or Europe. I only care about the weight. Markbass is well know for the quality, weight and compact style. If the product is build in far east and have no reliability issue then i'm fine with that, but to make the product more heavier then thats a big no no to me. If thats the case, i won't use their cab, but will still use their heads.
19.
Get a small mixer, I did & haven't looked back. Even take it to work.
Excellent idea. I think I might do the same as well to replace my ampeg BA108. I only use it to practice with headphone.
20. If Markbass weight tons, i might as well use ashdown or trace elliot stuff ......
21. The Rockbass Warwick don't sound exactly like the real Warwick in my opinion. Doesn't sound bad but just different. If is a Streamer LX then is a different story when comparing the two. Like above said, you should choose the one you like/prefer. We all have different opinion and preference at the end of the day.
22. Can't go wrong with musicman style of bass.
23. What sort of music do you play? Most bass can fits different style of music. Stingray type of bass tends to cut nicely in my opinion.
24. I say scout around on the used market. For that price you maybe able to buy a used Musicman SUB (made in USA) or a German made warwick corvette series.
25. Wrong time for this to pop up for me. I'm definite want a fretless but can't use any cash right now, just made a big purchase on a house =.=
