  1. I don't have particular sound i prefer because i've play many different brand before from classic ampeg, fender, ashdown, TC, Markbass etc and i find it my tone is similar no matter what amp or cab i use. So i'm really after reliable, weight and size to fit my purpose. only really do small - medium gig. Sometimes with or without PA support.
  2. Haven't use the GK you mention before. I had a GK 2x10 combo before and it weight tons. Impossible for me to lure. The orange 500watt 2x12 seems nice because is small and light weight haven't try it before. Looking at mark bass small combo atm. 1x12 combo seems nice.
  3. It come to a conclusion after a long battle with my Mrs that i can not keep my stack no more due to size and space ....... My currect stack consist TCBH500 and two TC BC2x12 cabinet. They aren't exactly heavy but still pretty big in the house. Was wondering whats a decent light weight combo that can do medium gig and DI out for PA support (so the amp can be use for stage monitor). Was looking at the Markbass CMD JB because is cheap £400-500 with 250watt and 1x15. Not sure is it good or not. Any other option would be welcome.
  4. Price drop to £80 collection or meet up in Manchester.
  5. Hi mate, sorry for the confusion. Sale price is £100 or PM me for more detail about the bass etc.

  7. For sale is my Ashbury Electric Acoustic bass 4 string. Is in mint condition and come with a gig bag to fit the bass as well. the bass already come strung with a set of new acoustic bass string. Reason for selling because i don't play it anymore and want to make room in the house. Willing to deliver within Manchester.
  8. For sale is my Ashbury Electric Acoustic Bass 4 string. This comes with a gig bag and a set of new string already strang on the bass. Reason for selling is because i don't play it often and i don't have any room in the house to keep the bass. Sale price for bass and gig bag £100. I live in manchester and would prefer pickup only or deliver in manchester zone.
  9. I made a similar trade last month but I traded my 3 band stingray for a ACG 5 string J-Type with P/J pickup and the bass blow me away like no tmorrow. I can pretty much get any tone of the bass once i have a good idea on what i adjusting (i mean spend some time playing and testing the preamp). The more i play the ACG the more i want to swap out hte J-Retro on my Jazz for the ACg pre lol.
  10. For sale is my Epiphone EJ200 (pure acoustic version) with Seymour Duncan Woody acoustic soundhole pickup and a jumbo hardcase. I will let this go for £250. Guitar is in mint condition and will send photo if you PM me. Would prefer collection only.
  11. Was wondering whats everyone's favorite setting on their preamp? Here's my setting: Neck Pickup: gain boost a little and low pass filter turn a little anti clockwise Bridge Pickup: gain boost around half and low pass filter turn a little anti clockwise also Treble: gain set in the middle and filter set in the middle also Blend: a little towards the neck pickup and play near the bridge pickup.
  12. I'm definite looking into upgrade, i think is one of those feeings that i wanted a change on the pickup to spice up the motivation of using the bass lol. I use too much of a Precision bass these days and now i got my new ACG 5 string toy, the bass have no love atm lol.
  13. the 5 string ACG i got is the only 5 string that feels perfect in my hand to behonest so credit to Alan and lucky me to get this bass from a forum member in here.
  14. i use to used a set of active EMG with John East 3 band EQ on my warwick and they tone is definite hi-fi and insane which is a good thing at that time when i play abit more heavy stuff ...... but i'm settle down now so definite want something less insane if you know what i mean lol. My Jazz have J-Retro installed so i think i will go for a passive pickup. Wizard pickup seems like a good choice to try. Not sure about delano or nordstrand.
  15. After many years of using my Dimarzio DP123 J Set on my Fender Classic 60 Jazz, i'm fancy some changes. I'm definite not interest in EMG as i wanted more vintage tone. Any recommendation? or other custom handwound pickups etc?
  16. when i first started i play a precision bass and always hated the bass because is a precision so i end up selling the damn thing and start buying different bass. After many years of buying and selling i end up buying a precision bass again and pretty much use it 90% of the time lol.
  17. i like the bass actually lol. whats that typical yellow telecaster colour called? I want one with that colour lol

    Jazz

Here's my Fender Classic 60 Jazz with Dimarzio pickup and J-Retro.
  19. maybe ok if you play near the bridge and use a pick ........
  20. i use to obsessed with strings type and brand but after many years of using different brand, it seems i get the same sound anywhere no matter what brand i use. So i just go for the cheap ones but not no name brand lol.
  21. The precision is a parts bass so is not a proper fender although it hv a fender logo. It have Seymour Duncan pickup and added the vintage pickup and bridge cover. It plays and sound nice which to me play better then most MIM fender so I can't complain It strung with flatwound for some thump and old school tone
  22. I use Fender acoustic bronze bass strings myself which the gauge is 45-100. The tone and sound is ok and it does the job, reason I use it because is cheap and can be bought online for £10-13. Other brand could or probably better but it cost alot more. Overall I'm happy with the fender strings.
  23. I just tighten the truss rod by a little after I put a set if new bronze strings on. It only make a little difference but I only want to straighten the neck. I tend to leave the action higher and just play it. I guess is like acoustic guitar and electric guitar theory that acoustic guitar tend to require more finger strength to fret. I'm not sure if you can get the action as low like the electric bass action.
  24. Here's my Precision bass:
