1. Had to have a look at the joemeek.com website and now I want the sixq (which this comp is taken from) as a preamp. Damn GAS!
2. Digitech's Bad Monkey is a guitar overdrive that works well with bass. I had the Humphrey Audio bass modified version, but I know Bassmankev had a standard one that he was happy with and he's had more than one or two overdrive/distortion/fuzz pedals.

gig contract?

I've used contracts in the past (based on the standard MU ones). Only had to rely on them a couple of times - once when dodgy electrics kept tripping our RCDs on stage and at FOH mixer so we couldn't get sound and another time when a big fight broke out near the performance area so we pulled the gig. The contract meant we got paid both times.
4. Not seen that one before, but I too am interested.
5. I've not tried any of the cabs on your list, but just to keep my OCD demons quiet I'd have to get the Aguilar cabs to go with the head
6. Enjoy it! Enjoy it! Enjoy it! + all of the above If you're going to be going through a PA, expect to be DI'ed stright from your bass. If "Your Sound" needs pedals / amp tone / something else, find out who the sound engineer is NOW and get in touch with them asap. Oh and enjoy it!
7. Need it/them for 31st August for a gig
8. 10.5s for weight and cost but 15 for the mighty bass tone
9. My step-children bickering! So much for working at home
10. Power tools I'm reasonably safe with But I will lacerate my hands with papercuts from the boxes the drivers come in  That is if I can ever decide which cab(s) to build
11. I found them great for fingerstyle, but once you throw in a bit of plectrum the coating comes off very quickly.
12. If I was going to go wanting fantasy power tools it'd be a fully CNCed wood shop pre programmed for all of BFM's cabinets
13. Mostly hankering for for the ability to decide whether I'm building an Omni15 or two Omni10.5s And a cordless circular saw
14. Yep, David's is the O15TB I've got the plans too, but keep wavering between that (for the bass tone) and two O10.5s (for the portability).
15. Go for it Sarah! Tuesday was my second attempt at BVs - once I relised I wasn't going to be struck by lightning for not sounding great I got more confident, sang harder and sounded better. I reckon at least 50% of it is doing it with confidence.
16. Just to settle this once and for all, the best Fenders are CIJ! (runs for cover)
17.
I really like the look of this If I had the cash
That's exactly the same as my first ever bass!
18. Ahhh, I thought he meant he couldn't produce acurate enough plans (only joking Alex). I can appreciate where Alex is coming from entirely - it's his design, it's a complicated one at that. Making plans available opens him up for criticism, demands for revisions, questions about alternative drivers etc etc. No harm in asking, I just wondered if I could buid something lighter and smaller than a BFM O15 (but still with great bass before someone says O10).
19.
BBC: I usually go and have a pot noodle and a w***
If you reverse the order of those activities the pot-noodle might taste better. Just a suggestion. Back to topic - I love the tone of my Warwick Corvette on its own, but in a band I'm really missing the sound of a P. I've had several P's from US to Mex and copies. Only other bass I've owned was a US Jazz which I didn't like at all. Gonna try some split coil pickups in the 'vette to see if I can get closer to the sound I want. I've got an idea for a Warmoth P-body, Satus J-neck bass into a bit of overdrive, compression, nice clean amp and that'll do me.
20. Huge +1 for "Oh Brother..."
21. STAR WARS is the only one I can think of....... In terms of "greatest hits" ones (which I know we're not doing, sorry Bilbo), having had my teenage years in the 80's I really like the soundtracks to John Hughes' films .
22. There is a little "go" box at the bottom right of the page that'll take you wherever you want. It's even better than the bit at the top.
23. Nice elephants Ferret (the rig looks pretty tasty too)
24. Personally I prefer a painted finish - it doesn't suffer fag burns the way carpet does, gets clogged with mud or pick up stink. Alex, I know you're producing some cabs for sale, but do you plan to sell plans at all?
