Now Sold Bought from Andertons a couple of months ago. When I took it out of the box I noticed that it has some tarnishing to the lacquer on one side - a small cosmetic blemish that won’t be seen once on a pedal board. This is a brilliant little pedal but my Zoom B6 incorporates both a drum machine and a looper so no longer needed. These are £75 new so taking a 1/3rd off to account for the mark. Posted in UK for £3.

That is proper pedalboard porn. Is that a GigRig board? Very nice.

Ha. Me too . . .all of the above. It's exceeded my expectations. Also worth pointing out the excellent drum/rhythm functionality which is great for jamming/practicing to and also would be a passable alternative if the drummer didn't show for practice. I connected it to my iPhone and iPad using the optional BT adaptor and it makes it even easier and more convenient to interface with.

yep, tbf I think I just put Ashdown ABM600 Amplifier and it didn't flag up

It's only prohibited if send internationally depending on where its coming from and going to. When I went through the detail it didn't (as far as I could see) prohibit it from domestic shipping or insuring. I can see that if you type in Amplifier it flags it up but I went through the list of prohibited items line by line and there is nothing that reflects an Amp. If you look at 'restricted item' there is a note on amps but I was OK with this as I'd packaged it in a ton of bubble wrap and frankly you could have chucked it off the Shard and it would still be in one peice at the bottom. I was more worried about loss. RESTRICTED ITEMS TNT deems the following goods to be either hazardous or requiring a 'two person lift'. If you book a consignment to send the goods listed below then TNT reserves the right to refuse to collect this and if it does collect it then TNT accepts no liability for the loss or damage of the goods. Dependent upon the countries of origin, transit and destination, examples of items that could be defined as Restricted include but are not limited to: Amplifiers And Speakers - maximum Parcel Protection value for damages is £200, up to £2,500 for lost items. Apple Mac/Macpro - maximum Parcel Protection value for damages is £200, up to £2,500 for lost items. (iMacs are protected for loss only) Banjo/Guitar/Cello/Violin - maximum Parcel Protection value for damages is £100, up to £1,000 for lost items. All musical instruments must be sent in a hard case and boxed. Computers - maximum Parcel Protection value for damages is £200, up to £2,500 for lost items. (All in one computers are protected for loss only)

I’m probably not the most technical at comparisons as I’m not really using pedals to a level that I’d ever notice nuances. Unfortunately I no longer have my HX so can’t test side to side. I also don’t rely much on amp and cab modelling. I’ll have more of a view once I’ve played about with it but from what I’ve heard (as in from my ear - not on the grapevine), all the usual suspects sound really rich and dynamic.
-
I agree - it’s not an overly-complicated jack-of-all-trade. It’s essentially a collection of TCE pedals in a mouldable and dynamic form. I like the look of it.

Stick around, this will probably for sale in a couple of weeks based on historic behaviour. I enjoy buying, trying and then selling new stuff and live in the hope that one day I'll eventually reaslise that I've already discovered my ideal guitar/effects pedal/car/motorbike/etc (*delete as applicable) and go back to it, never to change it again 🤣 . But I like change. I'm good for the economy!

It's such a shame it doesn't have a distortion/fuzz/OD on it. I appreciate that dedicated pedals might do this better, hence the FX loop to accomodate, TCE have forgotten to consider the many people that just want a 'good' distortion or boost rather than a super-focused one. I would have tried this if it had one, before taking the plunge on the Zoom B6 otherwise but I don't want the hassle of a pedal board and additional PSU challenges.

I'm really liking this unit - I've ordered the BT adaptor as I think this will be the quickest and easiest way to edit patches and move through the board on the fly. The pre-set patches are actually pretty good - I'm really impressed with some of the filters and synth sounds. Still messing about building some patches that I can use 'everyday' with simple effects (like the HX effects) I can just call on like Chorus and Fuzz. Need to get my head around what specific pedals they are emulalating but I'll spend a bit more time on fine tunning specifc sounds in time. I'm not back in the studio for practice until Thursday week so won't be able to hear it in the mix or at volume. I've got a gig on Thursday but not going to try this live for the first time there...... It's so quick and easy to get up and running. The interface and menu structure is really intuitive and well laid out. It's a shame that it doesn't have a mute - or at least I haven't found it - just bypass. Tuner is brilliant and, from what I've seen so far, the looper is well laid out although requires moving to a different mode (but that's fine as it keeps all the underlying settings) - but the benefit is that you have all the stomp bottoms to opperate the looper (much like the HX effects). So far I'm impressed. I love the fact it really has everything you need including the DI (and selectable DI-dedicated amp sims). I also love that I can play with headphones and it can also go directly into Logic via the USB interface. So far so good!

Well, I picked it up earlier and just having a mooch around and looking at the functionality at the moment. First impressions of the unit itself are good - really solidly made and looks / feels quality. I was worried it might be really plasticky against the metal housing of the HX units but it appears robust enough to withstand some abuse. Touchscreen is great and will no doubt make navigation much more focussed. It’s lighter and more slimline than I anticipated and it think it’s going to be a great tool to have at my feet and for dealing with the things I’m going to need it for. I’ll have a play through it tomorrow but just want to learn the menus first.

Frack it. Just ordered from Andertons and pick up this afternoon. There's one more in stock if anyone is interested . . . .
-
Would love to hear some of your feedback on this! Look great and could be my perfect setup . . .

Thanks mate - will take a look. I'm tempted but need a nudge before committing!

Anyone actually used this yet and can share thoughts and reviews?

Stew bought a pedal from me. Really quick payment and uncomplicated transaction - recommended and nice guy to deal with.

So true. When he unleashes he’s gone. I think he used to get anxiety / stage fright hence the alcohol taking the edge off. I think it’s just linked to his performance now. Can be super-emotionally charge or just totally smashed!
-
Love 'em. I think he's like a cross between Matt Berninger and Jack Black!

It was about £14 next day and I paid another £15 to insure it at the same time (https://direct.tnt.co.uk/) . All in, I thought £30 was pretty decent. As an unexpected bonus, Dave repaired mine and shipped it back to me on their own cost which was a pretty spectacular peice of customer service given I'd bough the amp used and honestly wouldn't know if it was in warranty or not.

If any proof was needed that its not what you play, its how you play it ...... Embarrasingly, it's actually gives clumsy bassists like me hope that I should focus on my technique and stop spending/wasting so much money on new kit!

So what's the difference between the Sterling and the SUB?
