  1. To be honest, if you have so few basses that your partner is able to notice that you've got another one then you haven't got enought basses in the first place. You only have yourself to blame.
  2. Just bought an immaculate and boxed ODB-3 - great guy to deal with. Thanks @AndyTravis .
  3. Thanks for this - that's really encouraging. Did they tell you what the issue was?
  4. You would if you paid £8k for it 🤣
  5. Just checked now. Nothing at all - even at full volume - with no jack input. Hum/buzz only present with jack in - gets louder as volume is cranked. Have tried with an active and passive bass and result is the same. I'm just emailing Ashdown now to get their view - I'm not averse to giving a good service anyway as I intend to hold onto this.
  6. Thanks - helpful and confirms my suspicions!
  7. I played my ABM600IV for the first time in the studio last night. Just a wonderful thing with amazing sound - the band commented on how much better I sounded 🙂 . The change in tone with the EQ boost and Asdown magic button on/off is really noticable. I'm not 100% on the match with my recently aquired Epiphany cabinet - its a fantastic speaker but I need to A/B against the K410 I was previously using to really feel its its a keeper - changing cab and amp at the same time makes it hard to track how and why your sound is changing. One thing I did notice was the reasonably loud buzz when I had the valve drive botton pressed in. To be fair, the chap who sold me it told me about it but now that I have it I think it needs a service and I might send to Ashdown to take a look. Do you think this might be needing a replacement valve or maybe something related to grounding? There is a underlying grounding noise from my P Bass as it's single coil which I'm OK with but this was a deeper and louder 'hum'.
  8. I have exactly the same and have owned for ~10 years. It's a wonderful bass and silky smooth when set up correctly. I'm never selling mine but at this price, tempted to buy another....GLWTS.
  9. Is this what they called a Telecaster Bass? Love it. GLWTS.
  10. Sounds like a cry for help, to me. Like some one just needs a little push. A nudge. Consider this done. New Year, New Cab. What's not to like?
  11. Posted a 'WANTED' note for an EHX Freeze pedal and John quickly came to the rescue. Pedal has been so well looked after and in its original condition with box etc. - it was packed and posted with great care and next day by 1pm within the price (which was going above and beyond). Super-herlpful and appreciated - can'tr recommend highly enough . . . thanks again John.
  12. Picked up an Epifani UL310 from Patrick this morning. Patrick was kind enough to invite me into his house and set me up with his stunning (and very sparkly) Sadowsky to play my ABM600 through the cab. I didn't wake the neigbourhood up but he was happy for me to do so if I wanted to if it meant me fully testing the speaker. Great guy and no hesitation in buying something from him again in the future. Thank you 👍
  13. New Year - New Cab 👍 . . . . . picked up this morning and it's a thing of beauty! . . . . . thanks @PatrickJ and @owen
  14. Thanks @pn_day, @rorysmith and @Oldman for your kind feedback ☺️
  15. ON HOLD / PENDING Incoming cab to go with my new ABM600 means it is time to say farewell to this chap. I originally paired this with an RH750 which I've also ecently sold. The cab is in excellent condition with no damage to the casing save for some light marks on the metal corner protectors - nothing that you would notice without close inspection. Please note that the light is reflecting back on the front mesh in the first photos and it's not a mark. It basically looks like new and plays perfectly. Its a very robust cabinet - its not light but can be carried with the two side handles OK - and IMO has a nice clean sound with good bass response and cut through at the higher frequncies when dialed in. Dimensions: W690 x H605 x D356 (mm) Weight: 29kg/63.9lbs Power Handling: 600W Enclosure: Handcrafted Plywood Construction Surface: Vintage-Vibed Tolex Cover Porting: Rear Ported Woofer: 4 x 10" TC Electronic and Lavoce custom drivers Tweeter: 1" titanium diaphragm Impedance: 8 Ohm Speakon Connection: Dual speakon connections Local collection/inspection only and happy to deliver / meet within a sensible distance. I live in Leatherhead and work nr. J3 M40 so this is also an option. Thanks Christian.
  16. Thanks. PM’d.
  17. Despite reading threads on resistance, I still don’t really get it 😔 - would an ABM600 rated at 4ohms work effectively with this to get the max power out of it?
  18. Both very lovely too!
  19. I love that the bass you are playing in your avatar is a 4 string @Sarah5string 🙂
  20. Sold to a fellow BC'er . . . congrats on a lovely peice of kit!
  21. Oh wow. This looks like a leftie. Very confusing but very cool. GLWTS.
