1. Jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Where are those tissues?
2. I prefer his usual body shape-but then I'm not a big one for huge elongated horns like that (they don't give me the horn! ) I've said it before-I don't think that headstock goes with those body shapes-you've got that lovely, streamlined, swooping body with a squat, ugly headstock IMHO. I expect he'd elongate it somewhat if asked, though.
3. Welcome Bill-I doubt I'm the only one here, but I was in your neck of the woods a few years ago-was planning to go to Daytona, but after a long day at Kennedy we were too knackered. Loved Florida-hoping to go again soon-maybe I'll make it then.
4.
why on earth dont they do a four string version of this? i'd have one right away. it seems silly to have a 5 string and not a 4 string.
Well actually, they do.... 5. Admittedly I am of the Burnel/Entwistle/Watt-Roy school, and a lot of bottom end is not that important to me, but I have no complaints at all with my Shuttle 6.0. Mine has also shown no inclination to move from the top of the cab-I bought some of that rubbery, grip mesh from B&Q which mine sits on. I still have a lot on the roll-PM me if you want a slice.
6. Dunlops for me too-usually nylon 1mm's or .88's.
7. I have a pair of ABM Minis with Celestion Neo 12's in them-same size cabinet. I'm delighted with them-I bought them from Nick Carey, who told me they were customised by somebody who does such things, whose name I forget. Drop him a PM and I'm sure he'll fill you in.
8. There was a black Lakland Precision that kept batting back and forth like a ping-pong ball a while back, through no fault of its own from what I can gather. Didn't stay in one place for a week it seemed.
9. Give us a shout if you need a support!
10. I've just put one on my Mex Precision-straight swap, although I used the screws from the one that was there already-they were a bit thicker with a coarser thread than the ones that came with the bridge. No issues, piece of the proverbial.
11.
i guess jj burnel of the stranglers does'nt own a wooly jumper then
It's usually me that comes out with that one-for fear of becoming repetitive I refrained this time round.
12. Peavey Microbasses are pretty good, and cheap and reasonably plentiful on Ebay. I got mine from the sale page here. The US made ones are the ones to get, although mine isn't, but it's fine.
13. Just bought a Gotoh bridge from Ellis-pleasant, easy transaction, no hesitation in recommending him.
14. Yep, RoqSolid are the boys-after a similar appeal, I got them to do my Ashdown Mini's-delighted with them.
15. My MIM P had them on when I got it-they lasted about ten minutes before they were off.
16. Take a leaf out of Johnny's book.... Seriously, with my cack-handed, self-taught technique I'm usually alll for 'if it works for you...', but I can't conceive of not using my middle finger.
17. There's a BB615 cheap on the sale page at the moment. I'd have had it, but he's not able to ship. If you can get to London, it's a bargain.

Aaaaaargh! I want one, I want one, I want one!!!! Think I might have to resort to crime-I know, I'll become an MP!
19. My first Precision was a Japanese 60's reissue, back in the late 80's I guess. Black/rosewood, tortoiseshell pickguard which I was told by the shop couldn't be changed, and, not knowing any better at the time, I believed them. Band folded, I sold it. Wish I hadn't.
20.
In search of his tone, I have turned up this recent pic.
Isn't that James May off Top Gear?
21. They do say the worst thing about being in a band, is being in a band.
22. DHL-pah. I bought a pair of Ashdown mini cabs from Nick Carey, in as new condition. When they arrived, one had clearly been dropped from a fair old height-one metal corner protector well and truly duffed in, and the tweeter unit had been wrenched from its mountings and the unit itself cracked. It was back when it was snowing, and the box had clearly been standing in either water or snow for quite a while, as the cardboard was sodden, and I ripped it open with one hand. Nick very kindly pursued the claim for me, and I got £50 compensation, but I wouldn't touch DHL with two barge poles tied together. If I ever get a package I suspect has been damaged again, I'm not signing for it until I've opened it and had a damn good look at the contents.
23.
JJ Burnel's Black and Maple P Bass
Yep, same here-although I wouldn't say no to one of his Shukers either.
24. The Wharf is a cracking venue-seen some boody good gigs there. Would be happy just to play there, let alone pack it out! Nice one!
