1.
Do you think a Thunderbird would fit in this case ? WEB site says it can fit most basses Ta very glad BIGd
I was asked this before about the coffin case and the honest answer is that I don't know. Searching on the web doesn't help as some sites say "yes it will" and others say "no it won't" Best bet might be to take the dimensions and compare them with the dimensions of the bass. Case dimensions : 50' x 2.5' x 7'/15.5'/5.5' Guy here has fitted an epi thunderbird into what looks to be the same case. Thanks Andy
2. Drop to £300 cash/cheque - For paypal I'd go halves on the robbery charge! As above - shipping would be £28 uninsured or £35 insured or collection would be free. Andy
3. Hi Folks, Since I sold my Telecaster Bass this has been lying empty so I decided to sell it on rather than collect dust. Model is the ATC-425. More details on the case can be found here : Biggars Music The case is in as new condition internally - externally there is a small ding in the top edge where someone dropped something on it. Doesn't affect the performance of the case and isn't really noticeable. It's a few months old and comes with the keys and tags. The case cost £80 - I'm looking for £45 plus post (postage would be about £13 because of the length of the case). Collection would be possible. Feel free to email me with questions (except the one about would xxxxxx fit as I'm not sure, I've only used precision-types in it). Andy
4. Is this the Musicmaster bass that was on Gumtree recently? Andy
5. Just received a marshall rack case from him - excellent guy to deal with, helpful and kept me well informed as to what was happening. Andy
6. Price dropped to £325 plus postage. Andy
7. I've listed this on ebay (taking advantage of the cheap listings day!) but I'm happy to remove it from Ebay if someone here is interested in it. Ebay Link Andy
8. Hi Folks, I'm looking at changing to a head & cab set up (for weight) and so I'm selling my combo. Spec (from Eden site) : 320 Watts RMS@4Ω Frequency Response 48Hz - 18Khz ±2dB Sensitivity 104dB SPL@1W1M Impedance 4Ω Dimensions 24.75w x 24.75 x 16.25d Weight 62 LBS I got the combo in exchange for my superfly/yamaha setup a few months ago and haven't used it more than a couple of times. It's in as new condition with no obvious marks or damage. Looking for around £325 plus postage although I'd prefer collection from Edinburgh. Thanks Andy
9. Odd thing with this one is that it's listed as being Newcastle but is collection only in London? Andy
10.
can i ask what the sanding sealer is for?
The sanding sealer is lacquer with a thickening agent in it. It is used as a grain filler to get a smooth finish on the wood and also allows you to build up a reasonable thickness of lacquer in fewer coats. It also prevents colours from bleeding into the wood grain. From the manufacturers website : To seal open pores of timber prior to application of lacquers, waxes or polishes. Andy
11. I love the fact that he's used the same photo 4 times in different sizes! Andy
12. As the owner of a late-70s precision that has just been refinished in natural, what can I do but vote for the natural finish. If the woodgrain is good (or at least distinct), natural looks good but a very plain wood looks a bit naff! Andy
13. Hi Folks, A little heads up on this one - 1978 Musicmaster Body has been stripped and it needs re-assembled. Was originally listed at £275 now down to £200. I'd snag it but the wife has told me I can't buy any more instruments this year (Although, if it drops any further I may risk the wrath!) Andy p.s. I have no connection with the sale - I just fancied the bass!

15. My usual choice is Jimmy Egypt in Glasgow - I think he is working from the CC Music store on Otago Street out at the west end. The other choice would be Jimmy Moon in Glasgow. Websites : Jimmy Moon Jimmy Egypts website is offline currently. Andy
16. As an added bonus, if you try to go to their website (which you'd expect someone selling guitar at these prices to have) - it runs an "anti-virus" scanner that tells you that you have lots of viruses and malware and you need to buy their anti virus. It amused me as it was "scanning" all of these windows .dll files when I'm on an OS X mac! Not sure I'd trust them as far as I could throw them! Andy
17. Hi Folks, I have a pile of Marshall amplifiers catalogues and flyers which are duplicate copies of the ones in my collection. Happy to dispose of them for free but would be grateful if the postage could be covered. The details are on my original for sale thread : Marshall Catalogues for sale. Andy
18.
Probably not the same one. This is the fourth or fifth one of these I've seen - looks like this particular pikey scumbag is just badging up trashy modern P copies and selling them as Ibanez. You will never, ever see a "genuine" Ibby precision copy with that style logo. They stopped making them around 1977, and they all have the vintage "spaghetti" style logo. Serial number (where present) will be on the neckplate, which will also have "Made In Japan" stamped on the lower half, and rosewood boards are very, very uncommon - most MIJ 70s P copies had maple boards. They will also tend to look like vintage instruments, rather than something that arrived in a crate from China last Thursday. Jon.
I suspect it is the same one - same seller, same serial, same description? Andy
19. Interesting that he sold it before, with the same description. Buyer then left negative feedback saying it was a fake, then saying it wasn't a fake? Now the seller is selling it again. 20. Price reduced to £145 plus £15 post required. Andy
21. Bought my Squier Telebass from me - excellent bloke to deal with, quick payment and good communications. Brilliant! Andy
22.
Bidder look a bit sus. Zero feedback.
Winner looks very bad - 3 negatives and 2 positives over 5 years?, not used account in 2 years? Andy
23. I renewed mine recently with Musicguard. Was slightly shocked to discover that the replacement value of my gear was over £11k! (I do own a few "high end" acoustics which makes up a fair chunk plus a reasonable PA). I also keep a spreadsheet and photos of all the gear with serials etc. Well worth it as I couldn't afford to lose that much gear - wether it's theft, fire, whatever. Andy
