Yep, I'm a Marshall fan for both my guitar and bass rigs. Bass rig is a 1980s 200w Integrated Bass Series head and a 1996 Dynamic Bass series 1x15. Gives that old, simple rock tone Guitar rig is a DSL401 Combo - doesn't really replace the Jcm800/jcm2000 stack and a half I used to have though! Andy
I might pop in & have a look. Sounds like a good price, can't afford it myself, but I'd be interested to see if it turns out to be the same RD750BK I checked out for a BCer back in March. Not much difference between the 750 & 760! J.
Well I did take a note of the serial if it would ring bells! Serial starts J85 which I assume is 1985? My conclusion that it was a 760 was purely based on 5-minutes searching on the web and finding this page : http://www.ibanezwiki.com/ I quite like the look of it with the red edging but justifying it would be difficult really! If someone does buy it do post some pics My tendency to trawl pawn shops has come up with some good instruments over the years but the only japcrap one so far was the Washburn Bantam headless that was for sale on BC a few weeks ago. Not ebay but cash converters - I was in the store on Dalry Rd in Edinburgh and they have an Ibanez Roadstar II bass in - a websearch tells me it is an RB760BK - looks to be in fair condition, quite a few dings but looks pretty good. The price was £119 - might be a good deal for someone (the wife will kill me if I buy it!) Andy -
Doyle's "The History of Marshall" only lists one Tall Marshall 2x15 : Model 1981, 200W, Bass Cabinet, 2x15. It's listed as produced in 1978 only and was replaced in 1979 by a 4x12 sized version Value wise it's difficult to say as the Marshall bass stuff is not really sought after. Andy

Looks quite decent, and I love a nice semi (ph'nar ph'nar..... :brow: ) anyone know anything about the make / maker? Would be tempted if I wasn't GAS-ed out (curse this site!) probably totally impossible to sell on though.
A google search for the Wood N I name in the listing finds this : Google Cache Which says :
This ‘Chez’ bass is unique and hand made in the UK. It has switchable Bartolini humbucker pickups, a Leo Quan Badass II bridge, Schaller tuners, bone nut and is newly strung and setup with GHS Boomers strings. As you can see from the photos this is a beautiful bass with no expense spared on the finish and bindings, even down to having brass fret dots on the side of the neck. The neck is five piece and very stable but slim and easy to play with an easily adjustable truss-rod. It plays with a very low action and is great for all styles from thumping blues to Wooten-esque tapping and slapping. The bridge pickup gives unbelievable punch and J-bass tones, while the neck pickup has an authentic P-bass fatness. There is no information about Chez online. There is a plate inside one of the f-holes with some information about the maker. Steve Smith – Wood ‘N’ I – Guitar Specialist – from Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, UK. The phone number has a pre-1994 area code, and the tuners say ‘made in W Germany’, so made pre-1990. I suspect the maker stopped trading before the internet was in effect, hence the lack of information. Although this bass is over 20 years old it is in very good condition. It is a dream to play and it looks and sounds amazing! This is a most reluctant sale but I have just bought a new amp and need to pay off a loan for it! Paypal or cash on collection please. Packaged in a hard case. Postage estimate at £15 for UK or local pickup. Will post outside UK but buyer covers all extra costs. Feel free to ask questions, or if you want to try it out, etc… Good luck!!!
I suspect it is the same bass they are talking about - the google cache is from May 10th 2010 although the page is no longer active on the website. Yep, me If it still had frets I would have kept it as it is light, easy to play and looks pretty good. Half-tempted to buy it back and get it fretted but I'd probably get killed by the wife Andy
That's a very good price - these are stoopidly rare. If it still had its frets, I'd have had no choice. Looks like he bought it off a BCer in Edinburgh a couple of years back: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...washburn+bantam J.
-
Marshall 15" cheap & ending soon: Collection in Wales
backwater replied to Beedster's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Incredibly cheap price but the Marshall stuff doesn't seem to sell well - one of the 300w+300w silver jubilee bass heads sold last week for £107 Shame that 1x15 was so far from me! Andy -
Interesting one - Ebay Marshall 4x15 cab fitted with Turbosound LS1507 speakers. Should sound huge but the weight will be a killer! I've never seen an angled 4x15 only the straight ones before. Seems a good price for a rarity. Andy

I would be very suspicious as their Australian ads have a Sydney Address, the German ads have a Berlin address and the Malta ads have a Maltese address but all with the same phone number. The phone number is (I think) a UK "Personal Number" (See here : Wikipedia : Personal Numbers) The email addresses are all free addresses (Gmail and hotmail) Do a google search for their phone number (the one starting with 44) and see how many hits for different companies with the same number there are! Seems to be musical instruments, mobile phones, laptops and watches. Personally, I'd walk the other way Andy
Have you got the link to the auction? Just curious.
I'm assuming it's this one : Ebay auction It's listed as a milestone one but I suspect it's a milestone 3 as it has a precision style scratchplate and 2 jazz pickups. If you look here you should be able to find the part number for a replacement cone : JBL Pro and then look here Cimple Spares for the replacement cone price. Might be worth looking at the cost of a replacement driver as well - sometimes the driver isn't much more than the cone and you don't have to spend time gluing the cone into place. Andy

A blast from the past - my first bass was a Milestone 1 - assume it is the Jazz-styled one? As I recall, it played very well and sounded pretty good. I gigged with mine for a while before I changed to a short-scale Musicmaster. When I bought mine new (in 1995) they were around £200 so your guess of about £70 sounds about right. Looking forward to seeing how it comes out. Andy P.S. Don't be afraid of doing the spraying yourself - I tried it and it worked out very well!
