2. Hi Folks, Do to the impending arrival of a mini-me, I am clearing out all of the excess bits of gear. 1993 Squier Japan Stratocaster. One of the last Japanese Squiers before all production moved to Korea. A few dings in the body and neck but looks OK and plays well. Trem arm is missing. Comes with a very basic gig bag. With the dings etc I'm looking for £110 Collection would be preferred as there is only a gig bag but courier could be arranged. Thanks Andy

4. interparcel/UPS, big -1
Big negative for UPS. Shipping a 35KG 4x10 combo to London. Collected fine yesterday, no problems. Next day delivery guarantee. This morning tracker shows out for delivery. At 4.30 in the afternoon this changes to : 19/09/2008 16:24 LONDON, GB THE PACKAGE WAS MISSED AT THE UPS FACILITY, UPS WILL DELIVER ON THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY How can they miss a parcel that big (and take 10 hour to notice they missed it!). I suspect the driver went to deliver it and found it hadn't been put in the van. Usually UPS are reliable and I send a fair number of parcels with them but this strikes me as massive incompetence Andy
Some may recall the above - well it gets worse. After delivering it late, the amp arrived smashed - all 4 castors bent through 45 degrees (the wood of the casing had been broken!), speakers damaged, tears in the packaging leading to damage to the grille, smashed handles and some odd noises from the amp. All the signs of being dropped off of the back of the truck. I logged the damage with interparcel, after a while of to-ing and fro-ing they eventually sent it to UPS. It sat with UPS for 28 days. When I enquired after 27 days I was told that the claim would be settled on monday. Monday came and went and on the thursday I emailed to chase, the following tuesday I got a reply saying that the cheque had been posted. Eventually received the cheque today 2nd class. So pros : Payed out full amount for insurance Cons : Took 8 weeks from delivery to the claim being sorted. Delivery was late (although the delivery cost - but not the insurance cost - was refunded reasonably promptly. Poor communication from interparcel. Andy
5. Ronnie Lane is listed as a Zematis user on the Zematis Owners Club site : Zematis Players Andy
6. Bump These are still available if anyone wants them! Andy
7. Hi Folks, Got these two going spare. 1 x Fender Japan Guitar and Bass Owners Manual- all in Japanese. Covers Strat, Tele, Duosonic, Jaguar, Jazzmaster, Jazz, Precision and Jag-stang. 1 x Tag for JB75-90US VHW/R from Big Boss Super Guitar Shop Manual has been bent in the middle and both manual and tags have a few creases. Happy to stick them in an envelope to anyone who wants them - if you're happy drop a donation into a charity box of your choice! Andy
8. There are schematics for the amp here : Ernie Ball - Old Musicman Amps Towards the end of the schematics is the schematic for the footswitch which should allow you to make one yourself (or possibly modify another brand one?) Andy
9. Chris has been a huge help sorting me a Marshall bass head, let me try a few and advise which ones would suit me. Bought the one that suited best - excellent guy to deal with. Andy
10. I would say that bass is my second instrument as my main interest is acoustic guitar (having been lucky enough to get a hand-made 6 and 12 string!). But I do find that when I switch back to bass my accuracy for fretting has improved as you can get away with a bit of sloppy fingering on a bass but not on a guitar (particularly the 12 string) Now when I switch to mandolin or cittern that's another matter! My best advice is don't swap straight from bass to mandolin - the fingers get very confused. Andy
11.
How do you know its £300? Or am I having a another slightly senior moment
There was a £300 buy-it-now but that disappears if a bid is placed. Andy
12. There was a 69 Gibson EB0 at Vintage and Rare guitars in London (which hadn't had the extra pickup fitted) and it sold for £1395 so I would imagine that yours would be a bit lower than that because of the modifications. 1969 EB0 - Vintage and Rare Andy
13. I find that my wedding ring doesn't affect my playing either - with fingers in the normal fretting position, the ring sits in the gap between the finger on the fretboard and the hand on the neck. Andy P.S. my ring is a large titanium ring so the ring size shouldn't be a problem!
14. Slightly odd though : From listing : I don't mind you coming to pick up - Edinburgh until September 26th, thereafter the guitar will be in West London - providing the item is paid for first by PayPal, I won't accept cash. Never heard of someone refusing cash and rather pay the paypal fees even for collection? Sounds a little odd to me. Andy
15. Hi Folks, I'm looking to get a new amp (as I've sold mine and am amp-less!). Looking at getting a Marshall amp - preferably a silver jubilee bass head or a JCM800 bass head. Both of these seem to be thin on the ground currently but I managed to find a cheap JCM900 Mk1 head (i.e. the one before the Dual Reverb and SLX) and I was considering getting this to use with a bass cab as a rig. Has anyone tried using the JCM900s as a bass amp - any thoughts? Thanks Andy
16. I love the fact that he discribes it as a mix between a Fender Jazz and a Musicman when the headstock says Fender Precision. A very confused bass! Andy

18. To me that looks like a standard switched TRS jack socket. It looks like the ones on the switchcraft site : Switchcraft Should be able to get one from a guitar tech or cpc/farnell/RS components. Andy
19. You could try wharfedale - they do a EVP-X15B Subs at £175 each : http://www.e-av.co.uk/info.php?id=4525&amp...e92e42b395fb3a1 I've used them in the past and felt they were pretty good for the money. Many places stock them so getting some should be easy! Andy
20. SOLD Andy
