Can't see any problem with this. You sell something at a price you want or need to sell it at. You buy something at a price you want or need to buy it at, Ain't nobody else's business how much you buy and sell for. Presumably the person who sold was happy to sell - otherwise they wouldn't sell. If they were desperate to sell and had to accept a lower price - then then that's life. There is no question of etiquette in my opinion. However, I think there are some hidden traders on here though. They should declare themselves. That's the unfair bit.
Er, can you sell something for more than twice what it's worth?
Ha ha. Good point.
What happens if you sold something at a stupidly low price because of personal financial issues and feel it would be unfair for that to set a precedent for a similar item and mean that some other dude can't sell his for whats it's worth because the buyer expects it to go for the same amount as the super low price? Surely then you're within your rights as a seller to remove the info and protect the price of an item for future sellers?
No. It's annoying.
-
Yeah, but what I'm saying though is that I think it is a bit annoying when people mark their things as "SOLD" and then delete all of the details ..... like the price and the description. As you may have guessed, I didn't actually sell anything - just commenting on other dudes practices. It's quite interesting to see what was up for sale and, although we will never know the exact details of the sale, we can get feel for the market. I think there should be a compulsory penalty of having your bum kicked in by a mod for doing that.

Sold for twice what it was worth. But I've deleted all of the info - so you don't know what it was or how much it sold for!
The most over-rated band in history Very influential etc but I have never actually listened to 90% of their stuff. Not hostile, just never went there.
I know what you're saying and partly agree ........ although, if you have only listened to 10% of their stuff ..... how can you reach that conclusion?
Here is mine: Roger Waters Sig Precision which plays awesome.....
Now that IS a black bass. Is the brass nut standard and are brass nuts any good?

Stage monitor which is small, powerful and high-quality?
You say price is not much of an issue, so my suggestion is the QSC K8 http://www.qscaudio....K_series_K8.php These get great reviews and are really powerful. Alternatively at the smaller/cheaper end of the scale, check out the Mackie SRM150, we use one of these for the singer's foldback with two SRM450s out front and it works well provided the stage volume is fairly sensible.
Good info there. Thank you. I'm also thinking along the lines of one of the Mackie DLM8 things. £700 is a lot for a monitor, but so is 1000 watts RMS and it is tiny. -

OMG ......... I haven't seen this cover since I bought the album when I was a wee boy and it first came out. A blast from the past. I think I traded it and some other albums plus some cash for my first crappy electric guitar as I remember.

Stage monitor which is small, powerful and high-quality?

I'm wondering about a Bose L1 Compact? Still using the PA, but using that as a monitor. -
There is some hallowed bass playing on this most individual of Stranglers albums. Both Hugh and JJ site it as their favourite (although JJ puts The Raven on an equal footing): Also, on a more recent note, Hugh plays with a wonderful bass player nowadays. An american called Steve Fishman who lays down some wicked grooves, sometimes with fingers, sometimes with a plectrum, on this 2012 album by the old codger. Both of the above is how I try to play bass

Balderdash to the naysayers. I say do it. No problems with this idea. -
What? You mean he was touring? In case: how was it? best, bert
It was top class, if you'd like a high quality recording of the gig, pm me with an email. There are a lot of clips on youtube as well.
-
If I couldn't be JJ I'd be Hugh. Hugh is uber cool. Saw him in Bristol and Southampton in 2012.
-
You shouldn't use that bass unless you are 30 years old or under.
Possibly a contender for weirdest post of the week. What does it mean?
Sorry, didn't mean to be cryptic. I meant, that I thought the guy who asked for the pic and said "pimp" was being humorous and the OP snapped at him (I thought) a bit harshly. I was expressing my support for him by saying "Team Asian looking guy" - meaning I am on his team or on his side in this particular instance. It's a popular way for these young people nowadays to express their support for one side of a debate ..... like "Team Andre" or "Team Katie" etc. I thought he looked a Asian - might not be Asian at all. I was being humorous also. And before any PC weirdos wade in - being or looking Asian is, in itself neither good or bad. Phew.

One of these: http://www.thomann.de/gb/boss_ve20_vocal_performer.htm ... and you'll sound like Adele. -
I have one of these - about to buy my second. I think, nothing comes close. Look at the user comments on here. http://www.dv247.com/guitars/aer-amp-one-bass-guitar-amp-combo--54921
