1. You could do a half decent JJ Burnel impression with this lot.
 2. Monkeyboymashblues just bought my Warwick Streamer bass from me. Transaction couldn't have been better. It's nice when a bass moves on to someone whom you guess will appreciate it - and it nice when someone commits to buying and then follows through with the dosh quickly and exactly as they said. Good one.
 3.
How does the Boss box know how to do pitch correction? Do you tell it what key you're playing in and it corrects to the nearest note in the scale? Do you have to play at concert pitch for that to work? How does it deal with key changes, accidentals, and blue notes?
It either sticks you to a particular key (which can be difficult in some songs) - or it keeps you to genuine notes in a chromatic scale. Simples. Works fine for me. Although, I would question if it would be right for really complicated vocals. Also, there is a knob which dials in the amount of the affect from slight to robotic.
 4. Having said that - if you played the wrong notes, the rest of the band would tell you immediately.
 5. Get him to invest in one of these http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails.php?ProductId=1043 Your guitarist wouldn't dream of playing his guitar without the use of effects - so why would a vocalist expect to sing dry. It has reverb, delay, compression, voice doubling (and trebling) and crucially ......... voice correction. I have one which I use mainly for the effects, but also use the voice correction, in very light mode, when I'm singing difficult numbers. Turns a modest performer into a wow sounding pro. Maybe you could even buy it for him as a present.
 6.
this has been done a few times, here's one http://basschat.co.u...an/page__st__40
Thank you, I did (honest) search but couldn't find anything. I must be rubbish at searching. Thanks for the link. It's exactly wot I was after.
 7. How many of you provide an invoice to the pub / club / client etc when playing a gig ... and then declare it on your tax return? I always have an invoice in my back pocket ready to present to them if they ask for one - but I have not yet been asked to do so. It's always a case of landlord/barman/barmaid appearing with a whole load of £20 notes and just handing them over. As an owner of a number of businesses for my real job, my income comes from lots of different sources and I have to fill out a tax return every year and I do declare all of my earnings, including the payments I get from playing in a band. I guess I have to do this, as our agent files a tax return every year and that could be traced to me - so I keep it all above board. There is very little tax liability as through offsetting rehearsal room fees, strings, new gear, clothing, travel fees etc I am easily able to erase the profit from the venture . Does everyone else do this? Has anyone on here been investigated / fined / billed for not doing this?
 8.
Also it doesn't help that they are still banging out the 2011 models for £899 delivered: http://www.gak.co.uk...ack-maple/19255
Oh no. What did you do that for? Must lie down and not use computer and credit card Must lie down and not use computer and credit card Must lie down and not use computer and credit card Must lie down and not use computer and credit card Must lie down and not use computer and credit card
 9. There you go. £558 is all you need for a seat at the top table of bass playing.
 10. About £500 for a USA standard in a mainstream colour (black, white, sunburst) is very good shopping indeed. It's hard to sell at the moment .... but it is VERY good to buy.
 11. Someone just down the road from me has listed the absolute standard by which all basses should be judged. Interesting to see how much this goes for - as it will be a good reflection of the current state of the market. If one of these doesn't sell for a decent price, then nothing will. 12. It looks proper. What do the Bartolinis have over the stock items or say Seymour Duncans?
 13.
Imagine he is referring to the length of time it has taken to sell such a quality instrument.
It's not the best time to be selling gear I know.
 14.
congratulations!! this sale was worse that watching England play!
Worse? What was bad about it?
 15. The Stranglers' latest exploits have led me to pay a lot more attention to the Mark IV band's output. Especially Norfolk Coast which is a stonking album. Baz Warne has a lot to be thanked for.
 16.
Mostly just 15 year old kids who think just because they have learned how to play their favourite Mark King song using just their fingers,
I would suggest that, if you did a straw pole of 15 year olds, it would take a very, very long time before you find one who knows who Mark King is.
 17.
Hi, I'm still very interested, how to do you intend to package the item? I know it comes in a gig bag but would like assurance it will safe from the courier and rough handling. Regards. Kev.
PM'ed
 18. Funny enough, I have just watched Big Country on the TV - at The Isle of Wight Festival and Mr Butler wasn't using his Vintage signature bass. He was playing a Precision with a Fender logo on the headstock.
 19.
yeah we had the 10" version which is let down by the horn, It never let us down but just didn't give the vocal clarity i am looking for, if you do get it let us know how you get on.
Played a pub gig last weekend with my new Laney monitor. It was just fine. Very good. Sound mix on the tiny stage we were using was great. Very good purchase and at £180 is probably the lowest cost serious monitor out there.
 20. Buy yourself a PA for about £2k and lend it to them when they need it.
 21.
Hi, is this nice looking bass still up for grabs? If so how much to post to Cornwall?
Yep - still here. I guess it'll be no more than £15 to courier to you. If it's any more than that I'll cover it myself. Let me know if you're interested. It's gotta go.
 22.
You've got surprisingly high standards for a bloke who owns four Fenders.
Get away with you. Bass guitar = Fender Everything else is a poor imitation.
 23.
Wow sense of humour by-pass.
But you're not funny.
