1.
I've got the single p-up version and I wouldn't let mine go for this price.
It's a sign of the times (especially for Warwicks). I have had quite some interest but no sale as yet. I did arrange to sell it to a guy very recently, but he then bought a similar one from ebay before the sale completed ... at a similar price. So this is the price they go for. It's a great bass - I just have too many of them and I'm really a Fender guy.
 2. I considered that and actually rented one from my local music shop for a month just before Christmas. See my thread and some advice here http://basschat.co.uk/topic/160646-dipping-my-toe-in-the-upright-bass-pond/page__st__20__p__1476315__hl__dipping__fromsearch__1#entry1476315 My conclusions were:

It would be cool in theory to play a couple of songs in a set with one
It would be cool in my living room (I have a big living room with an appropriately empty corner)
It was difficult to transport
It was hard to play and hard to get any volume out of it
If I ever get one, I'll have to spend upwards of £2K to get a worthwhile one - plus same again nearly for amplification ( AER is the only way to go)
I left it alone for the moment.
 3.
Most drummers feel alienated from the actual musicians (that's why they always hang out with the singer(s) ) and have to prove their worth through loudness. Give him a channel for his kick drum... then he'll feel appreciated and more part of "the sound".
Errr ...... Drummers are as much musicians as we are.
 4. Bump for a price drop to £225 ..... it's gotta go.
 5.
Ribena made strong with hot water - always works for me. It's so viscous it sort of fills the cracks up! On occassion I've been known to dribble a few drops of TCP in it. One thing - no offence intended etc - you say it's your first gig with a new band. Nerves can affect folk in funny ways and I know of two singers who tend to get sore throats when they've important gigs coming up. Just a thought.
Maybe nerves were a part of the onset of my sore throat ... although it did come with a full-on heavy cold (hot, shivery, sweaty etc). I'm quite a time-served band geezer - but there are always a few first night nerves with a new band. Makes it fun. Just over three hours to go before we kick off. I have heeded all of the above, I have rested my voice, kept off the booze, got some medication and will warm up my voice before the off. I am on the mend, not 100%, but confident enough that I'll get through it ... and a band-mate will make apologies before my voal rendition of I Only Wanna Be With You in the key of D.
 6.
Jean-Jacques Burnell That is all.
Spot on. Although I'm not sure there's a hyphen in it.
 7. I have my first paid gig with my new band tomorrow in a pub in Chichester, We're down to do 2 x 45 minute sets. Trouble is, I have come down with a cold/virus/bug and my voice is very hoarse and croaky. Of the 25 songs were doing, I sing lead vocals on five of them - and harmonies on about another dozen of them. One of the songs is in D - which is a bit of a stretch for me, even when I'm tip-top. I'm getting better, but does anyone have any tips for coping with cold / sore throats when you have to sing?
 8. What about Jailbird by Primal Scream then?
 9. I regularly buy stuff from MB Music and think they're brilliant. Martin, the owner is a really nice guy, gives loads of advice and price matches (and often beats) the big guys. He has a shop in Bognor on the south coast which is stacked to the rafters with quality kit. I don't mean Stagg etc which is the usual local shop fair ... his walls are coverered with Fenders, Musicmans, Laklands, PRS etc and he stocks Ashdowns, GKs, AER etc. And ........ he's a bass player in a local band. Try his online shop http://www.guitarandampshop.co.uk (he shifts a lot of gear that way) ..... or give him a call. A proper music shop which should be supported.
 10. Okay, this is a dumb question, but can you just add one of these to your passive Jazz? Do you just replace the existing stuff with one of those ...... or do you have to change the pickups too?
 11. I'm just about to pick up one of these http://www.guitarandampshop.co.uk/acatalog/Laney_CXP-112_120_Watt_Active_Stage_Monitor_Speaker_Cabinet.html
 12. This has gotta be the coooooolest post I've seen so far on basschat.
I've only just seen this thread. You're 100% correct. I wouldn't insult the rest of you or my own self respect by paying anything like that money for such a simply made thing. Rayman's right about the Explorer - which features dice knobs he supplied me with as I recall - but more usually it's a Fender Japan Blue Flower 54 reish. I've no idea if Dusty ever used one but it seems a ZZ Toppish thing to use and I like it. Re. this bass though - what I hate most - to the point of real annoyance - is the decal being the right way up!!!!! That's f****g awful. If you're going to do a job , do it right. Commercially driven decision and the absolute wrong one. Twats. Here's me and the Blue Flower and the Epi Ex
13. I like the black one a lot. As for the price ....... if you really like something, money shouldn't put you off.
 14. My 1999 fretless one was slim. Certainly not baseball bat like.
 15.
I've noticed that they have the bullet type trussrod adjustment on the top of the headstock instead of the adjustment at the heel, so you don't need to remove the pickguard to sort out the neck curvature, but apart from that I am not into that colour and that is just my personal opinion.
Actually, looking at the pics, it appears that the Jazz has a bullet truss rod adjuster, but the Precision looks to have one of those awful fake truss rod adjusters. My Road Worn Strat has one of those fake paint things. Great guitar, but I feel uncomfortable about that part of it.
 16. It must be a sign of the economic times. I have one of these - and if you're looking for a Precision - this is about as good as it gets.
 17. If you're looking for a quality, lightweight bass - this thing weighs only 7 1/2 lbs
 18. Backup for sale again as buyer decided he needed to buy something else instead before I was due to deliver it to him. Great bass. Video clips at this link http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1
 19. Have you still got this? I'm just along the road and might well be interested.
 20. When I originally got it, I was gonna strip it and wax it and leave it as a natural bass, or maybe a Nirvana Black thing. But I then thought it looked kinda cool and decided not to.
