Sold - Warwick Streamer (German-made) £225 4-string

Sold Up for grabs is my German-made Warwick Streamer 4 string in blue. I'm now looking for only £225 for it. I live and work on the South Coast (Bognor Regis and Southampton). Would prefer pickup but can post if necesarry. I guess you know all about these. Two passive soapbars with volume, volume, tone and a bolt on neck. This one weighs in at a shade under 7 1/2 pounds and has one of those wonderful Ovangkol / Wenge necks. It's in good nick all round - although you'll see that there is some paint scuffing on the front. The previous owner says he did that by finger playing ???? It's very light and very playable with a great sound. I'm selling this and a black and maple P/J as my band has been recruited by an agent and I need to add a fretless and an acoustic to my toolkit. You can hear a demo of it playing (fingers and pick) at this link http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1 I had it validated via the Warwick website with the following response:
Dear Mr. Denis

thanks for your request and interest into your Warwick Bass and for

giving me the requested information.
JJ Burnell. JJ Burnell. JJ Burnell. JJ Burnell. Lemmy. Sorted.
That's all you need. Well done that man. -
So, if the Roadworn thing is still going strong with guitars and basses do you think it will start to move to other things? Will that tatty but new Hiwatt or Marshall sound better having had the transformers 'soaked' for 100 hours at the factory? Actually, its possible it might, that's not fair as only the tolex needs to be torn for a comparison. Of course none of the knobs will be missing or replaced by unmatched types, neither will the strap handle be broken or fag paper be around the fuse. How about drums? Pre-worn skins? Who wants pristine white telling the world you don't really play much? Surely only a matter of time?
Well, funny you should say that ..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2V-gRXPuNVQ

stupid question-double bass and saloon car
The Dark Lord replied to CS2's topic in EUB and Double Bass
Alternatively, Elvis and his band used to travel in a car with the double bass strapped to the roof. Here's Macca with the very bass (which seems to have survived the ordeal). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uzC5KC_260 -
I prefer this finish to "relicing/roadworn"... It's called "Damaged desktop".
That looks very, very good. Let it be a lesson to all those rip off other people's designs. Oh yeah ...................... relics and road worns are cool.

Greetings from Warwick Basses & Framus Guitars!

A very good attitude from a manufacturer. If only they all did this. Well done mate. -
There is a crucial question on my mind here. You say it is an originals band? Who writes the songs?
So what you're saying is you like rock music. That's cool, but the 'is this bass playing' argument is as old as the f***ing hills.
Yeah, that's probably a fair comment.
-
Yeah, very good and all that. I can see that he is indeed quite skilled at doing wot he is doing .... but it's not bass playing to me. Give me Lynott, Foxton, Sting, Geddy, Lemmy and JJ.

Aint no blurry line to me. Fender American Standard. Plug in, rock. Nothing else is relevant.
Surely there's something amiss in that photo..reverse Jag with twin Humbuckers?? That can't be a Fender - some imagination would be required for this and as we know Fender are about as imaginative as Porsche designers!! I like it though..
The 911 is a tasteful evolution of a masterpiece. All other cars are less.

But seriously .... it's all about being in a band. There will be, as you recognise, some times where you play songs that you either don't like, don't like playing or both. It depends on who calls the shots in the band and how far you are willing to stray out of your comfort zone. If you don't like a song - tell the others and be constructive. If you're shouted down or outvoted, then you should either ..... just get on with it or pull the plug on your involvement. You choose. I would tolerate the odd such occurence, but if it happened too often, then I would realise that I was in the wrong band. I really didn't like "Superstition" in a band a while back but I bit the bullet as everyone else liked it. I found a way of playing it that better suited my style (kinda "Stranglerised" my part). No one complained about me doing that and I then found it tolerable. Didn't like it, but I could do it.

Get away with you. Me and my band do something similar to this version as the closer to our first set - always gets 'em up dancing and brings admiring comments from one and all at the bar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5Sws-ZLfHQ

I know this is not directly answering your question ...... but if it's any help to you, I recently replaced some blown 12" PA speakers with a couple of Eminence Delta speakers. I am blown away. The quality of the Eminence speakers is immence. Great improvement in the sound versus the originals. I too worried that the speakers wouldn't fit. I worried that the screw holes wouldn't line up etc. I just took a look at the promo pictures of the new speakers online before I purchased and saw that they at least looked as if they had the same mounting holes. All worked out fine when they arrived. If you're buying Eminence speakers, I strongly recommend these guys http://www.lean-business.co.uk/eshop/eminence-bass-guitar-speakers-c-99.html?page=3&sort=20a Great people to deal with.
I completely agree. I actually found the issue I bought to be difficult and frustrating to navigate, the content limited, and the only advantage taken of the medium to be video, much of which was promotional and advertorial in nature. There are very few online parallels with printed material, I'm wondering if there is any point in a monthly magazine on the internet, why do I want to wait a month for something that isn't even really interactive, or delivering the amazing advantages of the online experience? Navigating printed periodical media is still much easier than most online equivalents and offers a better experience in most cases. I want to interact with online media, I want to to be able to talk to the people in the magazine. If there's an interview with Jeff Berlin, why not open a publication-specific dialogue with him and the readers for a limited time as part of the package? I don't want just pictures and a review of a bass, I want video, I want to hear it and almost feel it, as well as see it, I want things I can't get from printed media, I want to hear the difference between the latest Fender Jazz on review, and a 1960s Jazz, and a Lakeland Jazz, and a Encore Jazz. I want to HEAR the difference between the Wizard Thumper and the stock Fender Precision Pickup. I want to HEAR the difference between the Glockenklang and the John East in the same bass. Or the tone and sustain difference between a Badass compared to the Bent Tin, the balance of a bass with Fender tuners changed to Hipshot Ultralights. I want to HEAR those DR Sunbeams against the Hi-Beams, and the Rotosounds. I want to see how that Warmoth Jazz neck actually fits a bunch of Fender bodies. While you're at it, grab those Fender bodies, and some others, maybe a big block of plywood, and a block of plastic, install the same pickups, electronics and hardware, neck and strings, and let's see a scientific analysis of the unamplified and amplified tonal differences. I WANT TESTS! I want to see manufacturers' claims and received wisdom tested. And I want it ALL to be IMPARTIAL. I really hope ibass get it together, it could be great, but it requires some forward thinking about what it can offer an audience, and the right interface.
In my judgement, there is no point in paying any attention to iBass as I know full well that it is doomed to failure. In my opinion, it is just not good enough - for all the reasons that Silddx said. If they are going to do it this way - just go and buy yourself a printed magazine instead. Also, the flippant way that this guys throws out excuses is annoying. Good luck to anyone who spends any money on the premium version - rather you than me.
