Shame they are another company that can't be arsed to reply to emails .
Give them a call, to be honest, I don't know any must store that's good at email. Mine were delivered very quickly too..
I'm not remotely religious, but I see this as no different to Fishing Bassists, Cross-stitching Bassists, Poodle-Fancying Bassists. As long as no-one tries to force cross-stitch on me, everyone is free to do as they wish. And - what a nice, challenging, but respectful thread.
Think I'd like to start a cross stitching bass club.
Fair point, on here I guess the term can be describing a musical genre, just was the combination of this, the motorbike run a couple of weeks ago and the surfers. Still feel the latter two are a bit unnecessary and divisive.
As some who doesn't attend church, I think the only way it would be divisive is if it meant non-Christians were not allowed to be involved, and I can't see that really being the case in this thread. It's same way you would would have scout club. If you don't like the scouts or their activities, you just wouldn't attend, it doesn't mean you can't get involved.
No e-book unfortunately, copyright license doesn't allow for that! Stuart
I'm sure they are gonna have to look into that in the future, as I know people who are starting to use their Ipad's on gigs instead of paper.. I'm very tempted myself Good luck on the book.. looks great

I don't attend church now, but I was brought up in that environment and started, playing, drums, guitar and then bass from 9. I tell ya, I learnt alot there. I was very fortunate, alot of those guys that I had the privilege to play with through my teens were either full-time or part-time pros, they played at a very high standard and were very humble... The music was anything from traditional hymns, to gospel, hill songs, to Delirious and DC Talk.. Yeah there's alot of good sound coming from church... You play with your heart
Really?! Haha, shows that one person's loud is another person's quiet WHAT???
Oh yeah, definitely. I got rid fo a Epifani UL212 because it was nowhere near as loud as my 1201R, but almost twice as large. Then again, the Schroeder's, especially the smaller ones, do have a certain tone that not everyone likes, and if im honest it wouldn't be my fist choice if i could use bigger cabs.
That was my reason for not getting them.. very loud, but not quite the sound I go for

in the long run, spending an extra £50 for something like the MB LM2/3, will save you alot of phaffing and money in the future, also 500@4ohm is PLENTY!! the DI sound is nice too.. I have the sansamp, it's a good little partner for the future.. the sansamps is much more hardwearing, but spend more on the Amp if it's too tight on the pocket.. just don't what I did with cabs, where I tried to buy cheap then ended up buying/selling 4 cabs only to end up with the one I actually wanted 5months later

Markbass all the way, the only one I haven't tried is the havery benton
If you can gig successfully with an SP210 then the Super Twelve would be spectacular overkill. Max SPL is not dissimilar to that of a classic 8x10"!
I think you hit the nail on the head

you guys are not helping my GAS
Compact plus Midget whould be plenty loud.. Or just bite the bullet and get a BF Super Twelve - mine is astonishingly loud with either my RH450 or H&K BassBase600.... Easily as loud (and nicer) as one of my EBS Proline 410's (but not both of them!)
I have tinkled with that idea, but alot of my gigs really don't need the super 12.. even though I want it sniff sniff.. I guess in a perfect world I'd have the midget for the small gigs, which I do alot and the super12 for the rest
Using the SP210 and midget together, the SP210 is a quiet cab (I used to have one) due to the isobaric design, whereas the Barefaced ones have high sensitivity so will probably be a lot louder than the SP210 if you run them in parallel. The Barefaced might overpower the SP210 so much it might not be worth using the SP210 at all. I love my barefaced though.... S12T owner
I've written off really using them together. The chance of need that much power, is highly unlikely, as biggest gigs without PA are small to meduim sized pub, if the gigs need a big rig, then I'll probably change the sp210 for a compact, if I get on with BF.. if this doesn't happen I'll get the more expensive, sp212 option and sell the midget I do think you get a bit more bottomed from the sp210 over the midget, but the sound is so appealing. The midget is so sexy with the silver grill.. and so so light, and the orange isn't heavy..

Right, after trying The midget and OTB with my bass at KK Jale's gaff.. I think, I'm gonna put an order in for the midget and sell my MB 1x15.. Then I have two nice cab.. If I like the BF as much as I think I do, I might by the compact 2nd later.. and sell the sp210.. but not if I'll give up the sp210

it's funny the I'm not even an DB player.. yet ;-) but I get the same problem with teaching students who learn to play drums on an electronic kit.. acoustic is always better, understanding the feel, sound etc is about 90% of it, which you can't get an a electric kit. If at some point the practicality, you can't practice at home with an acoustic, then you say use the electric, but still try to use an acoustic as much as possible.. Hmm.. next a DB for me too :-)
Yep. Individual musicians come for months or even years then disappear for awhile, then come back to play... as a band! Happens all the time.
because I play bass and drums.. I never know which to take. If I take both, I feel like I'm trying to take over
I blame SRV. What started as a subtle, gentle, but above all SHORT Hendrix song is now routinely bloated into a 15-minute solo-fest for guitarists in black hats.
for me a jam is a way for all musicians to come along and to learn something and to give something. For the experienced, it's to inspire, for a newbie or someone who coming back to music, it is getting involved, not taking it to seriously getting involved and having some fun... It's that simple.. The whole solo w8nking is simply self indulgent. I love jazz and solos, but it's about playing with taste.. I do think the house band has a responsibility to try and keep the mood tasteful, but it's tricky at times..
More volume? I don't think so, and certainly that wasn't what I was trying to achieve! The OTB kicks out so much, especially through a Barefaced cab, that what I wanted was more control of the sound. With the original AX7's in place, at most pub gigs I had both Volume and Gain set to "9:00 o'clock" and they were almost On/Off switches. I can now balance volume against gain to vary my tone as I wish, because I can use far more of each knob's range, while still turning out just as much volume as before. The AT7s that I have used offer a slightly smoother, less raucous tone than the original fitment AX7s, but any time I want to max out on the grit I can turn the Gain to "3:00 o'clock" and the Volume back down to "9:00 o'clock".
Not like the OTB has a any volume issues...

I know you said you tried the Terror, but if you still have it, change the valves, It worked a treat for me.. happy jack did a thread on it http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=134869
