1.
For a rock band it is hard to beat a Spector. Queensryche, Alice in chains, Skid Row, Cannibal Corpse, Judas Priest and a host of other well known and iconic rock bands' bassist all used and still use Spector basses. I'd say you go for a EURO 4. It has PJ pickups, active electronics, slim neck, contoured body. They'd fit into your budget even new, but used they go around 800-900 GBP (or less sometimes) It will give you different tone options compared to your P bass.
This. You can't beat a Spector for rock music
 2.
I've been pretty disappointed with the customer service at Warwick - nothing short of poor TBH - why not get yourself a quality Spector - after all it is their design..
This
 3. Glad to finally have you onboard here Darren! Gary
 4.
As long as you've got more than one knob Simon is the go to man for compression!!
Luckily my Empress Compressor has FIVE knobs....... AND two switches

Alex, Herbie (what a star!) and John - thankyou for sharing your talents and expertise. My fellow bassists - thank you for sharing your equipment, enthusiasm and laughter On a personal note - thanks to Simon for temporarily clearing the fog in my brain re: compression! lol! I didn't come away with any GAS.... but I did come away with a renewed enthusiasm for my instrument and respect for my fellow bassists Best time I've had in a while..... and best value for money in ages! Cheers to all and here's to the next one!
 6.
What I was trying to imply was there are already hundreds of copies of Fender basses available at all sorts of price points, so why yet another brand doing it and what do they hope will make them more special than all the others? Especially when the headstock logo is so eye-waveringly ugly! And if I was a beginner after a Fender-style bass I'd probably want be looking at one that actually said Fender on the headstock even if it was only a very small logo.
Yep, this......

 10. 10,000+ at the Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo. Hitting a low E and feeling the rumble in that arena is one of the greatest moments of my life.... lol! Also 10k plus at Dynamo Bucharest football stadium on a bill supporting Jethro Tull, alongside Saxon, Paradise Lost and others....

 15. I've decided to move on the best sounding cab I've ever owned. This is an original 'glory days' EV loaded Mesa/Boogie 2x15 Diesel cab, complete with custom flightcase. It is 800w at 4 Ohms and the speakers can be run individually at 8 ohms each or together at the full 4 ohms. The original EV speakers are punchy full range monsters, with tons of low end, back-hitting mid punch and no lack of clear highs too! I've used this cab for 60's pop/motown, 70's rock, funk & disco.... and modern covers and it reproduces my tone choices with ease and authority. The tolex is a little tatty, as a much loved & enjoyed cab usually is.... but the build is super solid and earthquake-proof! Pics to follow, but anyone who knows what this cab is will already be sold on it! *SOLD* . This cab is large & heavy - but it's all the cab you'll EVER need..... and you will need a van (or a large car - but leaving the flightcase behind) to collect. Please check my extensive positive feedback for assurance of a clean and honest transaction
