2. Yeah, nothing fails to sell a bass to me like 2 basses soloing together. 99% of bass playing is locking in a groove and I'd much rather hear the inherent tone of a bass i.e. is it punchy, growly, grindy, full-toned, weak, hi-fi or flat sounding.... in a real playing environment....
3. As it's my local shop I pop in there fairly frequently. I can tell you that they are only just beginning with their bass ventures..... They intend reorganising elements of the shop floor/separate rooms to add many more bass brands and increase the amount of bass equipment. They are well aware of the limitations their current bass room has (not least all the metal on the walls vibrating as soon as you hit a bass note) and are lookign at ways to reorganise displays/shop layout. I for one am thrilled that they're now stocking Spector, Darkglass etc and I'm looking forward to their new stock/displays/layout even if it takes months to organise....
4.
I hope that Cetera is reading this thread - he has one which I tried to buy from him without success - hope this thread reduces his opinion of the Bass and pushes the price down..
Yep, I'm reading...... and no price reductions happening here. I've never been one to care for the vanilla tastes of my fellow basschatters
5. You'd be mad to let it go mate.
6. So tempted..... but I don't really need another one!

I know it doesn't exactly address you flat frequency response issue..... but I'd say just try different cabs and see what YOU like for YOUR circumstances. I've tried 2x10's, 4x10's, 6x10's,1x15's, 2x15's, 1x12's, 2x12's and combinations of them..... and by various different well known manufacturers including BF. My PERSONAL faves have ended up being the old Mesa/Boogie Diesel 2x15 and the more recent (& more portable) GenzBenz Nx212T. Why? Because they have most accurately produced the sound I like to hear when combined with my basses, amps and pedals of choice. Ultimately, no amount of engineering/physics talk will change how YOU hear it.
8. Mark came and picked up my 'rig of doom' with his lovely lady Heidi. Great people, great communication. Highly recommended Enjoy!
9. Starting to appear on Thomann....... but not in stock yet. Prices have gone up £150+ on the V7 price when I got one.... 10. Spector customer service is the best.... bar none! If you need to email PJ at their NY headquarters he will get back to you asap and is super helpful. With a Spector you are also joining a group of loyal and passionate owners/players who will also help you wherever & whenever they can I have owned a ReBop4 (& hope to own one again). Great tight and focused sounding bass that will punch through any mix with ease...... My only criticism is the neck dive due to the small and light body. A good, gripping strap can tackle this to some extent though.... If that is too much of a risk then I can heartily recommend saving a little more and going for the stunning EuroLX range. Probably the best basses of their ilk (build/sound/comfort) at that price point! Hope that helps!
11. Welcome Ralf! You'll find plenty of likeminded and friendly people here Oh, and more than a few Spector users too
12. Hope you love it! It was a sound that I loved
13.
The official Spector Facebook page just posted a tribute, which I think is a nice touch.
Yep, Spector are a class act as usual....
14. I'm very sad to have to inform you that we've lost one of our own. Gary Slater (aka Grunge666), Spector bassist and Orange/Barefaced user... and bassist of W Mids rockers 'Iconic Eye' passed away unexpectedly last night. He leaves a loving family and lots of good friends... Sleep well my friend x
15. You're welcome mate - enjoy!!
16. Just sold my Carvin amp to Martin. Plenty of clear and regular communication and a straightforward transaction. Lovely bloke too Recommended!
17. Congrats! You can't go wrong with that cab...... it's sounded phenomenal with every amp I've ever put through mine!
18. Sean bought my Power Amp. Quick and clear communications throughout and and the deal was done with no fuss. Highly recommended! Thanks mate! Enjoy....
19. You need to try the Ian Hill or Doug Wimbish model then.....
20.
Looking at the fuse rating in the photo of the rear panel - is this 120Vac and therefore needs a step-down mains transformer?
Nope, it's a UK model for UK people
21. Provisionally withdrawn subject to payment.
22.
I went and had a play. I tried both a Rebop and a Euro LX (some kind of signature model, all white).
Ah yes, that's the Mike Starr (Alice In Chains) sig model.....
