1.
Not like ...so sounds like anyone can have a pimped up spector at the moment guess choose a colour and your there ...
To be fair - Rachel Bolan and Mike Starr have been influential in the use and promotion of the Spector brand for many years. I would argue that over the years (after Sting) Gene Simmons and Eddie Jackson (Queensryche) have been more influential in their use though and deserve sig models more.... but Gene is too expensive (and has his own basses) and Eddie now uses Mike Lull's live....
2. A nice tribute...... but tbh it's just a standard white Spector EuroLX.... :/
3. I'm playing a full 'Live & Dangerous' show at the moment with some ex-members of Limehouse Lizzy - see promo here: http://youtu.be/J-2xTMvL14A Got some more gigs coming up soon too....
4.
This is basschat though and 'I've already got one' has never been a defence against buying another.
It is at that price.... and Sting's one had a hazlab/badass....
5.
Good job Cetera hasn't seen this yet...
It's OK.... I've already got a white Kramer era NS2, a white Kramer era NS2a, a white Euro, a white Euro Wimbish and a white NS2J..... not sure I need another lol!
6. Nice score! I knew you wouldn't be out of the 'club' for long....
7. Love the NS2 and SSD NS4!
8. STUNNING bass! Fantastic purchase - congratulations!
9. That is p*rn right there.....
10. Best customer service I've ever had...... and best basses I've ever played. A winning combination yet to be bettered....
11. Congrats on the upgrade mate! That bass is a lovely score.....!
12. Love mine so much I've got 4 of them (and 3 GK400RBs!)..... getting rarer than hen's teeth now and still the best sounding amp I've ever used
13.
What's the difference between NS2 and NS4? They both look the same to me and both seem to have two pups
When Stuart Spector couldn't get his trademark back from Kramer when they went under he had to call them NS4's as Kramer owned the NS2 name. Now he has all his trademarks back he can call the PJ loaded basses 'NS2's' and the twin humbucker loaded basses 'NS4's'.
14.
so THAT'S where all the spectres in the UK went.........
15. Here.... have some more Spector GAS It's not quite up to date - some have left the fold and a few other lovelies have joined my collection but you get the drift.... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/22904-my-complete-spector-porn-collection/page__hl__spector%20collection
16. Welcome to the Spector club....... The desire to acquire more only gets worse you know.......
17. Nice! Why are you moving it on mate?
18. Bought some Fender tuners from this fine chap. Received promptly and good communications Thanks!
19. Back up for sale. Haven't touched this bass in ages so it needs to go....
20. Putting this back up for sale - still a bargain £600 + £25 courier
21. Let me know if/when the US JJ model is for sale - I may be interested... if the price is right!
22. Contacted re: Spector gigbag
23. It's an NS2002B made in Korea in the early 2000's..... It was an entry model and I believe passive. £350 is well overpriced - realistically you'd be looking more at £250
24. It's an NS2000/5
25. Spector have been around since 1976. Originally made in Brooklyn, New York they were later bought out by Kramer in the mid 80's. Stuart Spector eventually bought his company back and now make fantastic basses at every price point - from entry level Korean models through fantastic professional level Czech models to the American custom shop models. Their key basses are the US NS2 (an industry standard) and the EuroLX models, but their are many others including ReBops, Fortes etc.... Warwick licensed the NS2 design from Ned Steinberger/Stuart Spector in the mid 80's and then basically kept the design (only amending it very slightly) without paying the relevant royalties as the years went by. Thieving b*stards... Spectors are a different animal to Warwick in every way though. Original is best....
