1. It certainly is mate! A real 'rock' bass!
2. Ah yes, I've seen that old ad before, though it say he's playing an XB200 model (which he ISN'T). The pickups/control layout are very different on his prototype sig model to the lesser XB200 production model....
3. Sadly due to a couple of very special high-end purchases and an unhealthy VISA card I’m having to let some of my other basses go…. So what do we have here then? Well, this is a brand new/mint & unplayed Spector Legend 4X bass. I only just got this at the end of last year direct from the distributor and have yet to play it out! Fans of the Thunderbird or Nikki Sixx ‘Spectorbird’ will love this variation on the classic Thunderbird shape. This bass is in a beautiful black satin quilt stain and features a Maple body with a genuine Maple Quilt top and 3-piece Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard. The pickups are EMG SSDs, which Spector describes as having a little more midrange than the EMG HZ passive humbuckers powered by the Spector Tonepump Jr preamp. The black bridge & hardware are heavy duty and the bass is of 24 fret 34” scale. The bass is relatively lightweight with and a very comfortable satin feel neck. Tones are full and present and range from deep bass to a hi-fi zing with plenty of midrange growl to hand. I'm looking for *WITHDRAWN - FOR NOW* . NO trades. Can be picked up from Central London or Guildford or I can next-day courier for £25.
4. Sadly due to a couple of very special high-end purchases and an unhealthy VISA card I’m having to let some of my other basses go…. So what do we have here then? Well, this is (possibly) one of a kind! Check the web – I’ve never seen another…. Even my contact with Washburn themselves hasn’t provided much more clarification but they believe only a couple were ever made, of which Pat Badger himself has the other! This bass is Japanese-made, lightweight, and of a beautiful glossy black colour with a bolt-on satin-feel maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. Pickups are active EMG P/J and the scale is 24 fret/34”. The bridge & hardware are heavy duty chrome. Condition is excellent with very little wear/marking - just one paint chip at the back/bottom near the strap button. Due to its rarity it’s hard to put a value on this bass but I am looking for a very fair *PRICE DROP* £375 bank transfer or cash. NO trades. Next-day courier for £25 or meet in Central London or Guildford area.
5. Sadly due to a couple of very special high-end purchases and an unhealthy VISA card I’m having to let some of my other basses go…. So what do we have here then? Well, this is an oddity that I love! It's an ESP Zep-II Custom PPJ-160 'Masayoshi Yamashita' (Loudness) bass. I imported it from Japan a couple of years ago as I loved the pickup configuration of TWO pairs of slanted EMG P pickups AND a J pickup! This is a mad combination offering a variety of tones (due to positioning) and each pickup has an individual volume control! This bass is of course Japanese-made, a P-bass shape and of a beautiful glossy black colour. The bolt-on maple neck (possibly a replacement?) is of a classic chunky P-bass feel with a maple fingerboard and the hardware is heavy duty chrome. Pickups are, as stated, active 2xEMG P & 1 EMG J and the scale is 21 fret/34”. There are quite a few dinks out of it but it's still very playable. Price-wise I’m looking to get back what I paid for it….a very fair *PRICE DROP* £375 (the EMGs are worth £200 alone!) by bank transfer or cash. NO trades. Next-day courier will be £25 or meet in Central London or Guildford area.
6. Sadly due to a couple of very special high-end purchases and an unhealthy VISA card I’m having to let some of my other basses go…. So what do we have here then? Well, it’s an original mid-80’s Japanese-made Fender Jazz Bass Special. If you are not familiar with these, Jazz Bass Specials were made famous by Duff McKagan of Guns N Roses, and later of Velvet Revolver. These basses were made by Fender in Japan in the early years that were known for the best MIJ guitars (approx 1984-1987). The ”special” part of the Jazz Bass Special is that it has a Precision Bass body shape with a Jazz Bass profile neck and a P/J pickup configuration. The neck on this is the more desirable coated glossy black maple with a rosewood fingerboard and a glossy black matching headstock. Pickups are passive P&J with volume/volume/TBX (tone) controls with a 3-way pickup selector. Hardware is black and the bridge features the chalky oxidization typical of these basses. This bass also features the original F-logo plastic knobs with a nubbly rubber grip around the edge. These are rare in themselves as they often went missing and Fender does not sell them. Volume/tone controls a little stiff - nothing some WD40 wouldn't sort... This bass sounds superb with a huge range of tones from dubby bass to the clanging high mids Duff made this bass famous for. Condition is excellent ‘used’ with a few typical player marks/scratches/dings. The colour is a lightly yellowing off-white conducive with its age – but a lot whiter than the full-on yellow that many of these basses seem to have gone over the years! The recent Mexican reissues aren’t a patch on these Japanese made originals – lower wood/construction quality, different neck shape electronics. A different league, all things considered…. I'm looking for*SOLD* bank transfer or cash. NO trades. Next-day courier will be £25.or meet in Central London or Guildford area

8.
I love it... trying not to just say I'll have it... I'm really after a reverse headstock Baretta. Arghhh... must restrain myself.
A reverse headstock Baretta?! You'd be lucky... good luck!!
What's the measure at the nut? Is it more jazz or precision?
Will check tonight

10. They're actually 'headstock shape' inlays Don't let them put you off.... this thing sounds monster!
11. Thanks chaps! She is indeed a beauty and rare to find in this wood or this condition!
12. Thanks chaps! This bass really is a classic..... and sound engineers seem to love it as it has THAT tone that cuts through with grindy mids while staying full of bass!
13. At the request of a number of 'interested parties' I've added some extra pics to the initial post - showing the immaculate condition of this wonderful instrument!
14. Thanks Mike - it is indeed a beautiful looking, easy playing and great sounding instrument!
15. Only US Spectors come with a case. I should be able to find a soft one though...
16. OK, you know the score by now.... I'm having a streamline of my collection and that means moving on some of my least used basses. Now, why is this beauty among my least used?!? Well, call me shallow, but I prefer my solid colours - black, white, red etc so this doesn't get much of a look in. My wife is gutted as she thinks it's my most beautiful bass.....! So, without further ado - here is my mint condition Spector Euro4LX with the custom wood option of a beautiful Poplar Burl top. This comes with the full Spector crown inlays, gold hardware, maple thru-neck, maple back, thin laminate of walnut for a tighter fundamental & EMG active P&J pickups. As I said - this bass is mint... it might as well be new from the shop! More pics available on request... Yours for *SOLD*. Payment by bank transfer or by cash if picked up from Central London or Guildford, Surrey area. NO trades, thanks. Please see my extensive positive feedback for assurance of a clean & honest transaction.
17. The next bass I'm offering up in my New Year springclean/streamline is this superb Spector Rex 2000/4 bass. This bass is a popular sleek-Thunderbird type design with thru neck & EMG-Hz humbuckers. As you can see I've also upgraded it with gold hardware and customised it with high quality abalone Spector 'crown' inlay decals on the fretboard which don't interfere with fingering. They look VERY convincing, but can easily be removed if you don't like them and leave no sticky residue... Soundwise it's a monster with a very tight and focused tone, bold with a grinding edge.... really cuts through a mix with ease.... Condition is all but mint(!) - really! Barely a mark on it.... Pricewise I'm looking for £600 posted! (in the uk) with payment by bank transfer...... or cash on collection from Guildford, Surrey area or Central London. Please see my extensive positive feedback for assurance of a clean & honest transaction.
18. I've decided to a have a small clearout/streamline of my collection to pay a few New Year bills.... Sadly (or happily depending on your point of view!) my collection is at such a level that I only have great basses to part with.... So, with that in mind, here is my opening offering: An American Kramer series Forum 1 from 1988. This was the top of the line Kramer Forum back in the day, not to be confused with any other Forum models & hence very hard to find as snapped up by endorsees/professionals rather than placed in the shops! Electronics are the legendary Spector 'Haz Lab' board with active EMG P/J pickups, It has an Ebony fingerboard on a neck-through carved top body, and a bound neck/headstock. Two volumes, two tones, black hardware and a Schecter bridge. All in all it's pretty much a Spector NS2 in a Super P/J body! This bass is of a very high quality and plays and sounds fantastic with a nice comfortable low action. It is in a blue metal flake two tone finish, with just a few typical dings expected of it's age (A slight loss of paint on the back of the headstock by one of the Schaller tuners, a few light scratches/dings & a slightly larger ding on the bottom (shown in picture). It also comes in it's original case, which is fine for shipping. I'm looking for £475 *SOLD* and can courier for £25. Payment by bank transfer - or it can be collected from Guildford area or Central London with cash.. NO trades thank you. Please see my extensive positive feedback for assurance of an honest & clean transaction.
