1. Bought some Fender tuners from this fine chap. Received promptly and good communications Thanks!
2. Back up for sale. Haven't touched this bass in ages so it needs to go....
3. Putting this back up for sale - still a bargain £600 + £25 courier
4. Let me know if/when the US JJ model is for sale - I may be interested... if the price is right!
5. Contacted re: Spector gigbag
6. It's an NS2002B made in Korea in the early 2000's..... It was an entry model and I believe passive. £350 is well overpriced - realistically you'd be looking more at £250
7. It's an NS2000/5
8. Spector have been around since 1976. Originally made in Brooklyn, New York they were later bought out by Kramer in the mid 80's. Stuart Spector eventually bought his company back and now make fantastic basses at every price point - from entry level Korean models through fantastic professional level Czech models to the American custom shop models. Their key basses are the US NS2 (an industry standard) and the EuroLX models, but their are many others including ReBops, Fortes etc.... Warwick licensed the NS2 design from Ned Steinberger/Stuart Spector in the mid 80's and then basically kept the design (only amending it very slightly) without paying the relevant royalties as the years went by. Thieving b*stards... Spectors are a different animal to Warwick in every way though. Original is best.... Check here for more info on Spector: http://www.spectorbass.com/
9. Dartford has just TEN tickets left direct from box office (not through ticket links)! http://www.themickja....aspx?event=558
10. That's it for now FlatEric.... more to be announced in the near future. Please look up RockAnthemsUK on Facebook and keep up to date with any dates as they are announced Cheers Leroy!
11. I'll take it and can pick up! PM'd
12. Thanks everyone! We had a fantastic night! Seat of the pants stuff at times but I think we nailed it.... Leroy - pick (of course!) We're playing Dartford Mick Jagger Centre in 2 weeks times so would be great to see anyone who can make it! 13. I was using a phaser but I'm just using a chorus at the moment.... No worries, maybe next time
14. Lol! It's more of a musical (vibe/feel/groove) tribute...... rather than a warts n all copy of every last word said etc....
15. Hey all, Just wanted to let you know that I will be playing bass in a tribute show to the classic Thin Lizzy album 'Live & Dangerous' this friday night at Redhill Harlequin Theatre..... and on Fri 20th June at Dartford Mick Jagger Centre (see reply below)! The band also features Andy Fox & Greg Hart (both ex-Limehouse Lizzy), Mike Nolan (ex-The Bohemians) & Rick Chase (ex-Graffiti/Mama's Boys). We will be performing the album in full, plus some other classic Lizzy tracks played on that tour but edited off the original album! Would be great to see any of you who can make it! Cheers!
16.
BTW is that a Spector bass?
Yep..... he's a longtime Spector user....
17.
Saw this band recently in a pub, not sure if the singer can 'smooth' his voice out to do the AOR type stuff but his voice is way too good for pub gigs (very wide range and good power too), might be worth getting in touch as I recall him saying he did extra work as a wedding singer so presumably the main band doesn't take all his time up. Maybe a long shot... Alternatively poach the guy from 'A Foreigner's Journey'
Ah yes, I'm familiar with Hell To Pay.... Re: a Foreigners Journey - their old singer was with us for a while but he couldn't hack it! lol!
18.
A-ha! Took some time but I knew I could flush you out eventually Checked out the AOR Starz website, looks a cracking gig to get.
It would have been if we could have kept our lead singer.... Sadly noone these days seems capable of singing like Perry/Scholz/Gramm etc....
19. Congrats! Show it LOTS of love
20. Bought a bridge (not the over-river kind!) from Dave. Great communication and fast despatch. Recommended!
21.
Well one regular member in the past actually used to post under th name of 'cetera' so he certainly has been discussed in older posts and in 'underrated bassists' but not he most recent version, that topic has been done a number of times.
And I'm still here! Peter Cetera is/was a wonderful bassist. Just check out anything from the first 13 Chicago albums for proof.... Melody, counterpoint, groove and a musical voice all of his own. Like the best of Jameson & McCartney rolled into one... All my fave bassist are from that era - including, in particular, Tiran Porter of the Doobie Brothers
22. I'll take it mate. Will PM you...
23. Enjoy mate! I have 5 white Spectors now (NS2, NS2A, Euro LX, NS2-JA and Bassman's Wimbish) and to my mind the most beautiful looking and best sounding basses known to man....
24.
I'm on a ferry to France right now but I'll check when I get home at the weekend. I can't remember if I sold it. A search through the for sale forums might reveal the answer though. Poor signal ahoy so I can't really check.
No worries. I'll PM you to remind you for when you get back mate
25. Sounds to me like he needs to EQ his rig a little better as Spectors punch like hell..... However, if he had a smiley face EQ set up on his amps then all punch would be lost....
