1. Congrats TorVic! Nice score & welcome to the club!
2. Already watching it mate, cheers!
3. That's a fair price for a very collectable bass.... I was lucky enough to get my black poly Wal with gold hardware and ebony board for less than this and it's a monster! Whover buys this is in for a treat!
4.
Reminded me of this clip from The Tube, featuring a Staccato bass, a Staccato guitar (momentarily) and - bless 'im - Mitch Mitchell...
My Staccato is a black version of that one I think... Shame they couldn't play the 'riff' correctly in this eh?
5. Bump with update... Sold individually he's looking for £250 for the Variax & £175 for the Pod XT Floorpedal-board
6. Rolling Stone (& Jann Wenner in particular) are unqualified to comment on anything to do with popular music or bassists...
7.
And you've got Spectors in every colour too!
Only 6 colours and they're all different configurations (bolt-on/neckthru; PJ/JJ; diffferent preamps etc) so they're a LOT more interesting
8. A good friend of mine is suffering financial troubles and sadly needs to sell some gear to raise much needed dosh. He is offering up his Line6 Variax 600 guitar and PodXT Floorpedal- board for just £400. Both in excellent condition and he is located in SE London. If anyone is interested please let me know by PM & I'll pass on his info. Cheers!
9. Will have to try and make it along soon..... especially if there will be some good 'used' stock. I'm really not interested in a wall of Fender jazz/Precision basses in a hundred different colours....
10. Great stuff..... noone makes good soul/dance music like this anymore....
11. Etienne - you'll love it!! And if you don't - please give me first dibs. I want a back-up as I love mine so much
12. If you want high quality proper stuff you must go to these guys: www.rockdrops.com Tell them 'Gary from Dressed To Kill' sent you....
13. Likewise Lloyd, cheers!
14. Purchased a set of EMGs from Ahron - received promptly and extremely well packed. Recommended!
15. Not much I can add to the above (they all beat me to it....) but I will say this as far as the difference between the thru neck 4LX and the bolt on ReBop: The ReBop is basically a Jazz bass on steroids - tight, hi-fi and a very honky bridge p/u sound. Feels & plays superbly but has a little neck dive. The Euro 4LX is a more full-range & slightly more aggressive sounding bass with rich harmonics and crushing tones from rumbling bass to glass highs. i.e. THE Spector tone It balances perfectly and plays like a dream. Whatever you decide I'm sure you'll love it
16. Crikey! She's a beauty!
17. Nope.... I've always chosen well
18. I'll take them! PM incoming...
19. As said before, he's a nice bloke..... but this is horrendous sh*te. I'm not sure how this style of playing is supposed to promote/advertise/sell Rotosound strings to the masses? If anything, from people I've spoken with, it has the opposite effect....
20. No FX loop or Tuner out?
21.
They aren't just good pop tunes - technically they are interesting as well. Mike Batt had a knack of bringing non-mainstream musical writing to the masses, albeit subtly hidden in catchy tunes. All sorts of genres are included from Mozart to Reggae to Barbershop, many on a single album. And yes. I have Womble vinyl. And if I were to be visiting the mudpit at Worthy Farm, would be wombling along to their stage in plenty of time!
+1,000,000 to all of this....
22.
I'd rather see the Wombles than 95% of the sh*t they have on at Glastonbury.
Word
23.
Just been to specsavers for a free hearing test after reading what everyone put on here. I've been playing about 15 years, not at excessive volumes but certainly amplified and I've got some moderate hearing damage at higher frequencies. Ordered a pair of the molded ear defenders. The filters are er9 or er15, I can't remember! Since I sing quite a lot in the band as well as play bass, apparently they're good for that. £129 well spent in my opinion. That is if they work!
Me too, but at Boots. I've lost some higher frequencies in my left ear - funnily enough the side facing my drummer/his cymbals! Ordered some new ACS Pro-17's for about the same cost. Should be here within a couple of weeks
24. STUNNING, Lorne!
25. Another big +1 for UPS through Interparcel
