2.
I am my own tribute band. I even dress up as myself.
....and if that's you in your avatar, it's a VERY fetching look - I must say!!
 3.
The reason they suck is that they are killing the market for original music by creating a nice safe entertainment form for pubs and clubs to offer to the public. They are the flip side to the cheesiness that is the Stars in Their Eyes, the X Factor etc... If there are no (or very few) outlets left for original live music, then how are new bands going to develop in the first play? How will anyone ever know if they are any good or not? So don't give me all the crap excuses about entertaining the public.
Cough! *bullshit....* I'm in a tribute band, a covers band and a function band. I've done the originals thing to death but didn't make it big & grew frustrated with the "I'm gonna be a star" egos of other band members... I play Corn Exchanges/Arts Centre type venues etc (i.e. NOT typical 'originals' venues - so NOT doing them out of gigs) and occasional 'clubs' where we often offer a 'support' slot to an up & coming local band. Said local band then gets to expose their music to 150-500 more people than they normally would and hence promote themselves for their own pub gigs etc. Some of these new bands are great and go on to do well, but many of them are either not very good, have zero stage presence, no 'songs' or don't know how to follow up promotionally on playing to such an audience. That is their fault... NOT the fault of any tribute band... Stop taking the easy way out and blaming everyone else for your own lack of success....
 4. There's very little that excites me GAS-wise anymore... but then with my gearlist that's hardly surprising!
 5. Nice demo...some great tones
 6.
If you play in front of an audience, you have to play what THEY want to hear, or you don't work. I'd rather play in front of an audience than sit noodling in my bedroom for the rest of my life. If I have to slightly compromise my ideals in order to do so, so be it. A lesson that some 'musicians' could do with learning. .....or be a little more understanding of those who are willing to fulfill that need.
+1
 7.
Engineered The Rolling Clones (guess...) a few years back.Very competent, very entertaining. They got paid £700. More than I've made in 3 decades of trying to be original. One of the reasons I gave up 13 years ago.My dislike of tribute bands is not actually aimed at the bands (would I dress up as Bill Wyman for £250? Possibly) but at the total lack of imagination with the audiences.
So you dislike them because they earnt more than you while entertaining an audience? Wow... god forbid....
 8.
as a side note, i've never tried genz benz cabs cetera - is there plenty of volume to be had? out drummer LOVES his cymbals! ha ha
Yep, there SURE is - I've never had a problem with their power - and they're lightweight to boot! The only thing I can imagine sounding better than my Neo's is a Bergantino NV610
 9.
Don't make the mistake of assuming I have a shred of integrity.
Did I miss something?!
 10.
I struggle to get past the idea that playing other people's stuff the way they played it is just pretending - one step up from a tennis racquet in front of the mirror. Tribute bands are just like taking the tennis racquet out in public -
As opposed to jazz gigs where you just take the tennis raquet 'out' in 'person'....
 11. GREAT band and incredibly tight as a live act! As has been mentioned above - Chris Leslie is a lovely guy, as is my good friend Ric Sanders - a gentler, more sincere person you'd be hard-pressed to find.
 12. Excellent! I have the same set up..... and it's a monster! Be careful not to lose the all important mids from your sound though P.S. Hey Gary (Grunge!) good to see you here mate!
 13.
Hey - we played a gig recently at the Vic Bikers Pub, Coalville, and saw one of your posters on the wall, I'm guessing from a while back. It was a good fun place to play. Any plans to return there?
Hi mate, Sorry, no.... too small for us and we can't use our 'effects' there... You can catch us a junction or two further up the M1 at Sutton In Ashfield 'Diamond'on Sat 15th October though!
 14.
Lanark - great night. 2 supporting bands with Dressed to Kill on top form. Flames, blood, make up and smoking guitars. What more do you need. ? 35yrs watching live bands and it doesn't get any better than this. What a show. Absolute entertainment. The guys all came into the audience at the end of the night for photos and generally making friends. Great bunch of guys. Everyone seemed to have a great night - well done !!! If you like Kiss then go see these guys - you won't be disappointed. Will be back for their return gig ? Cheers and thanks Dave
Wow.... thanks SOOO much Dave It was great to meet you afterwards too mate! 19.
Just bee-yootiful. And a very fair finance deal too Can say from experience that cetera's a top guy to deal with, and really knows / looks after his bass gear
Thanks Shaggy! I appreciate your kind words
 20. Thanks chaps! Yes Nik, this is the one you played at Walfest! Now, I've had a fair few people make contact about this bass already, but obviously with an instrument of this value (and the tough current financial climate) people are finding it hard to be the first to get the full amount together.... *finance arrangements deleted now SOLD* Hope that helps?! Please see my extensive feedback (link below) for assurances of my honesty and trading/selling reputation on these boards.
 21. Have a free bump for a cool looking bass!
 22. Crikey! Bargains! Not for me at the moment though...
 23. I'll take it! PM'd...
 24. She's a beauty Andy! Those cracks aren't a problem...
 25. Have a free bump for a gorgeous and 'different' Fender!
