Well i love the tone from the spectors. I have tried a Spector rebop and love the sound of it, thats why i'm asking about the spector performer, i dont have any idea if the sound is near the sound of a rebop...
It's similar but not quite the same. Why don't you keep your eyes open for a 'used' Rebop?

Sadly I need to part with my beautiful Nov 1983 Wal Mk1 Custom (W2205) from the original/classic Ian Waller & Pete Stevens era. The bass has a Mahogany core with Wenge facings, Indian Rosewood fingerboard with inlaid m.o.p. dot markers, Schaller machineheads and black/chrome custom Wal bridge. The neck is 34" scale/21 frets and of a six-piece laminate construction of Rock Maple, Hornbeam and Amazonian Hardwood. Electronics are the standard x2 Wal pickups with Volume, Blend and two parametric EQ Tone Control pots. There is extra 'pick attack' with the pull up Volume pot and extra focus on selected frequencies with the two pull up Tone pots. The bass also has ¼" and an integrated XLR balanced output, which allows for direct connection to a desk or other balanced input. It is currently strung with 45 - 105 strings. As we all know, Wal basses are hand made, beautifully constructed and individually unique instruments and this particular bass is surely one of the best. Indeed, when I had this fully serviced by Pete about 3 or 4 years ago, he told me that it was one of the finest examples he’d ever seen of this model. Condition is 'excellent' with just a few very light dings/surface scratches - to be expected from an almost 28 year old instrument. I have barely used it outside the house since owning it and a case will be included. The weight (according to my bathroom scales) is approx 8 lbs... I'm very sad to move it on but, as the owner of an incredibly rare 'Geddy Lee' Mk1 and a beautiful fretless Mk1 as well, I feel it is time to offer this classic up to someone else to enjoy to the max! So, without much more ado.... here she is: Now, to the price: I'm looking for *SOLD* cash, cheque or bank transfer/IBAN. No Paypal or trades, thanks. Pickup is preferred (from Central London or Guildford/Surrey) but I WILL meet within a reasonable distance for petrol money. I WILL ship within the UK or Internationally but obviously, with a bass of this value, all shipping/insurance costs and any import taxes must be met by the buyer. Please see my superb feedback (link in sig below) for assurances of a clean/honest transaction.
Then you have to stick to Foreplay/Longtime
*Guffaws*.... and wonders how many people will 'get' that

Feck it off and find something else....

This: Spector NS2A Far superior to the, admittedly very good, Spector Performer..... and will hold it's value should you wish to move it on in the future....

When I fancy just playing along to an album I often pick their Greatest Hits.... some fun and tricky basslines to enjoy

Jimmy is a great bassist with a VERY varied recording career.... I've also got stuff by him with a band called Blackjack in the late 70's (with a young Michael Bolton on vocals and Bruce Kulick of KISS on gtr) and he even played bass on a track or two on KISS' "Creatures Of The Night" album in 1982...

Great bassist Nice bloke - I've met him a few times Entertaining to chat with/listen to Fun book What's not to appreciate? And yes, he has posted on here before...

Robbo and his Warlocks are a lovely bunch of guys who are really supporting live music. They will look after you AND your gear and you will have a great time. Money depends on your pulling power andhow many times you've been in/proven yourself...
Hmm .. interesting that ebay/brand-new (and ambidextrous) member i***u(0) seemed to be bidding only upon 3 items - opening the bidding for the right-handed ESP (which he won .. but then didn't want, or couldn't afford) and the LH Ibanez bass ... and trace elliot ... (which he managed not to win - luckily, as I assume he wouldn't have been able to afford either of those):- http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?V...em=170601748453 http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?V...s_None_ViewLink http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?V...em=170601753110
Shill bidding anyone?!

New strings, play nearer the bridge, turn the input gain up on the amp.....

That's actually pretty nice!

The 80's/early 90's Kramers (their glory years) were superb, but the more recent Gibson-owned Chinese Kramers are more like entry level instruments....

Sadly it's time for me to liquidate a couple of bits from my collection to keep the VISA cards under control.... So without much further ado I present the following.... Spector NS2A This is a gorgeous and highly rated late 80's/maybe early-1990 Korean made thru-neck Spector NS2A in red stain with Spector pickups, a Spector Hazlab Jr preamp (almost identical to the full US Hazlab) and black hardware (heavy duty Spector bridge, tuners, knobs and Schaller strap pins). The body and thru neck are maple with a rosewood fingerboard. These original Spector import basses have a great reputation with this top of the range NS2A model often being rated as 90% the quality of the legendary full US NS2 models, but for a fraction of the price - the main differences being the Spector branded EMG-made pickups, non-gold hardware, Rosewood rather than Pau Ferro board and 3A rather than 5A grade maple bodies! Indeed, with a popular upgrade of the pickups to full active EMG's you would have a monster on your hands!! Many well known 80's/90's rock bassists (Kip Winger, Eddie Jackson, etc) used these, with the pickup upgrade, on recordings and 'live'! Sadly this simple and inexpensive upgrade is something I never got around to doing... Being all maple and armed with the Hazlab Jr preamp, these basses are MUCH closer to the legendary US NS2 model than the more recent Euro LX models (which will cost you double my price s/h and 3 times as much new)! Controls are vol (p), vol (j), bass (cut/boost) and treble (cut boost) See halfway down the page here for more info on these great basses: http://www.spectorbass.com/about/model_years_2.html In the spirit of full disclosure I would rate the condition as 8.5/10 with a few discolouration scuffs to the very bottom of the body, some light surface scratches on the back of the body and a light surface nick halfway up the back of the neck. I'm looking for a VERY reasonable *SOLD* cash, cheque or direct a/c transfer. No trades and no Paypal thanks....and I would prefer pickup from Guildford area, Surrey or Central London. I will however ship/courier at buyers cost if really necessary. Sadly it doesn't come with a case... Please see my feedback thread (at the bottom of my signature below) for assurances of a clean and honest transaction.
