2. Wow! Thanks for that nonsense about a brand that is charging over the odds for something of poor quality... Now where's the bread for that SPAM sandwich...?
 3.
Yeah but then you're probably the only BC'er another would recognise without needing a previous introduction or a second glance . Unless someone mistakenly turns up at a real kiss gig and starts talking gear. Man that could be embarrassing
Lol! Yep, especially when Gene's eyes glaze over and he starts chatting up your lady instead....
 4.
there's always the uber-cool BassChat T-shirts, of which I am a proud owner
Nah, that looks sh*te over my 'Gene Simmons' outfit....
 5.
It's a ferking great big dent whether you like it or not. If undamaged , comparable instruments go for less than you're asking for a damaged one then it's not unrealistic to use that as a bargaining tool. If you don't like it, just don't respond.
But surely getting a response keeps the lines of communication open...? Aren't we asking for people to be more communicative on here so as to avoid people thinking they have got a potential buyer when in fact they haven't? Your answer appears to fly in the face of good manners/trading etiquette
 6.
On the other hand, the people coming to your gigs are your customers and are ultimately paying your wages, and might reasonably expect a polite reply to the first three questions above (the last two are pushing it a bit). If you want people to come to your gigs, or want them to buy your bit of kit, then you need to make it easy for them. Not aimed specifically at you Cetera, just that your post triggered the thought.
No offence taken, I'm just airing the frustration that 20 years of dealing with the same questions has bred... We actually reply by pointing them towards said websites so that they may continue to use them in future, thereby obtaining the information they require WHEN they require it... and not continually wasting our time... Seems to work for the repeat offenders...
 7.
hello this my bass that i have for sale its a custom shop bass and i have not seen anyother bass like this if you like becouse you might have to trivel i will sell it to you for £1100 tell me what you think http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SANDBERG-PM5-Custom-...=item43a6457b14
I think the OP has probably made his choice in the last 3 years and that you shouldn't post e-Bay links to your item in this forum...
 8.
My main gripe is about is how some "would be buyers" ask the most mundane questions without even doing any research of their own - a quick visit to the manufacturers website would yield all the answers to their questions and even answers to questions they hadn't even thought of...worse however are those who you know have no intention of buying but ask daft questions anyway - I answered their questions respectfully and informatively even though I knew they weren't going to part with any cash..
Sorry to hear this mate but it is, I fear, partly a result of the avalanche of information available around us. There's almost too much to deal with and people back away and can't be bothered to look for it. We often encounter a similar situation with our band where people ask the most mundane questions about our regular gigs - for which the answers are available from the venue websites, ticket agents etc etc... e.g. Q. What time are you on? A. Ask the venue Q. How much are tickets? A. See the venue/ticket agent website Q. When are you playing *insert venue*? A. See our gig listings on our website/Facebook or check the venue website and believe it or not... Q. "What bus goes from the local station to the venue and what time is the last bus back?" A. How the F**K do we know?!?!? and Q. "What time is the last train back to town?" A. See above!!! Basically, rather than spending time e-mailing us and waiting for a reply they could have looked up the info online and got the answers they required within seconds!!

 10.
So if a guy has the perfect bass (pre-CBS Precision), perfect strings (La Bella heavy flats), perfect amplification (loads of tubes), what's the best cab for the American 60s/70s tone we're talking here.....?
Studio or live? Studio - an old Ampeg B15 fliptop Live - an old SVT 810
 11. Definitely my favourite era of music, so much 'space' in the music and prominent, full bass tones aplenty.... My personal faves HAVE to be Peter Cetera (Gibson EB3L & Fender P) on the first 11 'Chicago' albums...... and Tiran Porter (Gibson EB3L, Fender P & Gibson Thunderbird) during the original Tommy Johnston-era 'Doobie Brothers' . Both played with taste, melody, rhythm and finesse..... and their bass parts were clearly audible! Also love Joe Puerta (Ambrosia), Leon Wilkeson (Skynyrd), Kenny Gradney (Little Feat), Dave Hope (Kansas) etc...
 12.
Well, there aren't any Journey fans on the Journey forum! Truckstop
True that... there's only 'the herd' as me and my mates call them.... you have to see them to understand
 13.
Massive Journey fan right here, Ross is my idol and I have a small obsession with Steve Perry! Are you seeing them in June?
Yes and yes Seen them with Steve Augeri, Jeff Scot Soto and Arnel Pineda.... great every time I'm too young to have seen them with Perry (to my mind the finest rock singer of the last 40 years)
 14. No idea on this rig but NICE CHOICE on the avatar!
 15. The best pickups to replace the EMG-HZ's with (IMHO) are active EMG35DC pickups. This is what you will find on the US Spector models....
 16.
What do we reckon, cetera, am I going to regret this?
It depends what you end up keeping....
 17. Nice!! Damn you GAS!
 18. Nice strings these.... plenty of life and punch to them
 19. Nice! You'll love the Genz & Berg stuff!
 20. Graham Maby is a regular Spector user these days. Not sure if that's who is on the vid mentioned?
 21. Mate, with these cabs: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=128890 humping gear isn't a problem! Lightweight and SUPER-powerful!
 22. I have that exact set-up! I put my RBI into one side of the DPX1400 and the RPM into the other side, each to their own 600W 2x12 cab! Sounds MONSTROUS!! Enjoy!
 23.
ELO Experience I've recently joined tribute band the ELO Experience. Have great fun playing this tune and all the others too.
NICE! That'd be a seriously fun band to be in Great basslines too!
