1. This..... one of my fave songs by my fave band. This live version gives me goosebumps when it 'kicks in to overdrive' at around 2.50....
2. I LOVE white basses.... they have a nice 'classy' feel/look to them iMHO.... Here's mine: First up, my yellowing 80's ESP PPJ160 'Masayoshi Yamashita': My Jackson Futura/Kip Winger (now SOLD): On the right - my Allparts/Fender 70's Jazz with Wizard pickups, Gotoh bridge & vintage reverse-tuners : On the left, my original issue Fender Jazz Bass Special and on the right my Fender Japan 62RI Precision: My white Spector collection (l to r: NS2JA-CR, Euro4, NS2A, USA Kramer NS2): Stuart Spector Design USA NS4 (now SOLD):
3.
Personally, I'd drop the ... with Jools Holland, hook in Mark Radcliffe and Jo Whiley to go with Jools and put the show on all year round with each of the three hosting alternate months.
Jo Whiley ?!?!? Please no!! I couldn't stand her gushing love for EVERY act and fake enthusiasm that every song/band is the best she's ever heard....
4. VERY nice!!
5. Bumping for this weekends gigs! November 5th Newcastle ‘Legends’ 6th Glasgow Garage ‘Rock RadioBonfire Bash’ – w/Gallus Cooper, Judus Beast & Non-Jovi 19th Witney – ‘Fat Lils’ 20th Swindon ‘The Furnace’ (different set list to Witney as venues are reasonably close)
6.
Just wondering if you've thought any more about doing a trade between our 2 cases?
Sorry Steve, not for me and... BUMP!
7. I'd love to do this.... but too far away for me
8. You do know this is only £299 new online don't you
9. Snore.... SPAM....snore.....
10. I've got a Jazz Bass Special. It's the black neck, non-active (i.e. non-PowerJazz) version. Has a very grindy, punchy & full bass tone - think Duff McKagan (Guns n Roses/Velvet Revolver) and is very comfortable to play...
11. Nice work mate! Personally I LOVE his playing on this classic version....
12.
Might try and get along to the newcastle one at legends
Cool! Would be great to see you mate
13.
Love it! Nothing wrong with a bit of rock kitsch; after all, we can't all be original with our Fenders
+1 to this!
14. Excellent purchase! These old ESPs are the 'nuts'!
15.
You could invite me along to photograph your gig in Glasgow and I'm sure Celin would be delighted to be my assistant for the night and come and meet you guys. Serious offer - I'd really like to be extending the work I do with musicians and bands.
Will PM!
16. Plenty! Anything off of 'Royal Scam' is great ('Don't Take Me Alive', 'Caves of Altamira' etc) and I personally love the first two albums ('Can't Buy A Thrill' & 'Countdown To Ecstacy'). 'Aja', 'Katy Lied' and 'Pretzel Logic' albums are very good too. I was never a big fan of their 'Gaucho' album or the more recent stuff...
17.
Check out our recent updates on Twitter and Facebook… may the conversation and speculation continue.
All I'm seeing is SPAM. The only conversation is about your annoying clogging up of the forum with pointless 'teasers'...
18.
entertainment and a great show - and not just for Kiss fans
*blush*
19.
Are there debates about integrity for orchestral players, who play the material as accurately as possible? Maybe period-instrument orchestras are looked down on as being the 'tributes' of the orchestral world?
Not at all, only amongst the bedroom musicians on forums like this....
Re. tribute bands, as a punter I want to be entertained and have a good night. Some tribute bands do, some don't. I once saw a Coldplay tribute (not my choice) and the best reaction they got was during the encore when they played 'I believe in a thing called love'
Lol! But you loved us though didn't you?
AFAIA the tribute band started in Australia, when due to the original acts not touring there, people made their own entertainment.
That's right mate. Australia got so few International touring acts that the local musicians started forming 'tributes' to give the baying public the songs/entertainment that they wanted....
20. There's plenty of other basses/amps etc you have that need her to sell them for you. Well, what are you waiting for! Get to it man!
21. That's a beauty mate! Has one too many strings for me though...
22. Gorgeous bass! Congrats!
